My
husband
and
I
took
a
day
trip
to
Indianapolis
and
chose
to
eat
at
the
iconic
Harry
&
Izzy's,
downtown,
and
sister
restaurant
to
St.
Elmo
Steakhouse.
What
a
brilliant
decision!
The
atmosphere
was
cozy
and
inviting
and
very
lovely.
But
the
environment
is
not
the
only
reason
to
eat
here.
The
staff
was
very
efficient
and
friendly,
but
not
overly
so,
or
phony.
We
shared
the
St.
Elmo
Shrimp
Cocktail
first.
You
get
4
very
large,
nicely
chilled
meaty
and
tender
shrimp,
hiding
under
a
spoonful
of
sauce.
They
use
the
hottest
horseradish
they
can
find,
a
4.5
out
of
5!
It
is
not
bitter,
but
does
pack
a
punch,
a
nice
slow
burn
then
it
is
gone.
First
bite
was
a
surprise,
but
it
was
delicious.
I
chose
the
luncheon-sized
ribeye,
medium
rare.
It
was
perfection:
warm
and
pink,
tender,
and
very
flavorful,
and
not
over-salted.
My
husband
had
the
strip
steak,
which
was
equally
delicious.
The
macaroni
and
cheese
was
perfection.
It
was
bubbling
hot,
creamy
and
juicy,
buttery
and
cheesy.
It
should
have
been
called
macaroni
and
butter...
Unfortunately,
we
had
no
room
for
dessert.
But
I
have
my
eye
on
their
brownie
with
hot
fudge,
Woodford
Reserve
(my
favorite
bourbon!)
caramel
sauce
and
vanilla
ice
cream.
Maybe
next
time...
If
you
want
a
great
dining
experience,
do
come
here.
I
can
only
imagine
what
their
dinners
are
like!
