I love this place. They have the best onion soup. This place is spotless. They have outdoor seating so you can view downtown and chat with people while they are walking by. The bar is fully stocked. The staff know their drinks and food. Everything feels and tastes top shelf. The food and drink presentation is spot on. If you are thinking about trying this place just stop thinking No do it. You’ll be happy you did. Enjoy the atmosphere and a great meal!

Amazing experience. First time in Indianapolis. The food is great. The service is incredible! Ask for Lisa! The grilled salmon, the scallops, THE SHRIMP COCKTAIL- all perfectly prepared! New favorite for sure!! Thank you Lisa!

In town for a colts game. This place came highly recommended and I must say that it didn't disappoint!!!!! Everything from the bread, appetizers, soup, entrees and dessert were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Our server Carli was fantastic. She was personable very helpful with the menu and even the area around the stadium. If you get a chance request her on your next visit to Harry & Izzy's!

My husband and I took a day trip to Indianapolis and chose to eat at the iconic Harry & Izzy's, downtown, and sister restaurant to St. Elmo Steakhouse. What a brilliant decision!  The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and very lovely. But the environment is not the only reason to eat here. The staff was very efficient and friendly, but not overly so, or phony. We shared the St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail first. You get 4 very large, nicely chilled meaty and tender shrimp, hiding under a spoonful of sauce. They use the hottest horseradish they can find, a 4.5 out of 5! It is not bitter, but does pack a punch, a nice slow burn then it is gone. First bite was a surprise, but it was delicious. I chose the luncheon-sized ribeye, medium rare. It was perfection:  warm and pink, tender, and very flavorful, and not over-salted. My husband had the strip steak, which was equally delicious. The macaroni and cheese was perfection. It was bubbling hot, creamy and juicy, buttery and cheesy. It should have been called macaroni and butter... Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert. But I have my eye on their brownie with hot fudge, Woodford Reserve (my favorite bourbon!) caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Maybe next time... If you want a great dining experience, do come here. I can only imagine what their dinners are like!

Harry and Izzy's definitely was worth the wait. We waited roughly 60 minutes to be seated due to it being the National Championship Weekend, but the food and service didn't disappoint. My dad and I both ordered the Grilled Pork Chops with a side of French Fries. Both were seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. From the hostesses to the servers to the support staff, everyone was professional. If you are visiting downtown Indy, this is the place to be.

Really enjoyed getting dinner at Harry & Izzy’s. I enjoyed every single item I ordered: the soup was delicious; the meatloaf was the best one I’ve had in a while; the drinks were good and the dessert was savory. I Definitely recommend !!

Good steakhouse not great. The non alcoholic drinks are really good so you have options if you don't drink. The French onion soup is great and the creme Brule. The rib eye steak was okay, the orange burgeoning steakhouse is for true steakhouse lovers which I am not. The steak dish relied on the sauce too much to make it great instead of the steak itself no flavor . I would come back because service was fast and excellent.

Pretty good place been to this location several times before and always get excellent service from Alison shes the best by far… always start off with a lemonade and a water followed up by a couple of rolls with are super warm soft and airy and a always order the Prime Beef Meatballs those things are so good… those are almost a meal by it’s self… And the Shrimp Penne Alfredo add Steak tips dish was amazing it was Alison’s pick and the way she orders it for her self the steak was at a great medium well and perfectly seasoned as well as the shrimp and they both paired well with the garlic Parmesan cream sauce and those penne noodles… really really good flavors!! I highly recommend this place and ask for Alison and yes with one “L” lol

I had the shrimp cocktail it was awesome. Same as St Elmos, just not as good a presentation. The 14 oz Ribeye was out of this world.... I didn't even need my steal knife. The potatoes as a side were as good as the steak. I finished up with the browne, which didn't disappoint. Everyone else at my table had the same opinion. Service was alttle slow filling our water, but the food more than made up for it. We will be going back.

Food was outstanding. My Caesar Salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. The filet sliders were unbelievably tender and tasty! The St. Elmo’s Shrimp Cocktail has us in tears - but in a good way. Our server was excellent. The atmosphere was upscale and gave me Roaring 20s/speakeasy vibes but we felt comfortable being there in casual clothes. A bit pricey to eat here on a regular basis, but definitely worth it for a special occasion or when you just want to treat yourself.

My husband and I were in last night celebrating my husband's birthday! There was a birthday card on the table! Marley was our server. She was an Absolute Delight! Marley was very Knowledgeable on the menu and the Specials, she totally sold my husband on the Kansas City Strip. She was super attentive our entire visit. Patrick was our server assistant and he was super friendly and very attentive as well. We started out with the Famous St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail, I warned my husband about the Sinus Searing Sauce, but the first bite was still overwhelming for him. Our meal was wonderful at every turn. Marley even brought out a Creme Brulee with a Birthday candle to finish the evening. I had the Liquid Snickers which was Amazing! I work music venues and I recommend Harry and Izzy's all the time.

Tl;dr—the steak was good, the bread pudding dessert was out of this world. I ordered the Kansas City dry aged steak and it wasn’t something I loved. Still, it was cooked pretty perfectly, tender and juicy. I just didn’t like the flavor, but that might have been the dry aged. The burrata brussels spout salad was strange but very good. It would have been improved with something like prosciutto or bacon bits. The horseradish shrimp was a very interesting (and good) experience. I enjoyed them quite a bit but they are NOT for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the burn of horseradish or wasabi. I love spicy and have a high tolerance and it was VERY strong. I also got the lobster Mac and cheese for an “upgraded” side and it was pretty good. Nothing incredible. Lots of lobster which was nice given the high price of $28. It was also a very decent portion and definitely shareable as per the menu’s suggestion. Then the bread pudding was just… incredible. The star of the show. I considered going back the next day just for it. And I’m not even a dessert guy. Almost never order it, and never seek it out. 12/10. Fluffy, chocolatey, delicious caramel ice cream, all the right balance, not too sweet. They said that the portion serves 3-5 and I probably could have eaten the whole thing just because it was that good. (It should serve 3-5, though, realistically.)

Went here based off the good ratings. I must say the Shrimp Cocktail is some of the best I’ve ever had. Clam chowder was good and the fried chicken sliders were good too. Plus the Ceaser salad which was mediocre at best I’m not a fan of burnt croutons. I went during lunch and got the 3 course lunch special. I think that was a great value considering the quality of food you are getting. The service wasn’t anything to write home about. However this is a 5star worthy restaurant. If you are in town give it a try and be ready to cry when you eat the shrimp cocktail. That horseradish is “fire” as the kids say these days.

Fantastic place within the St Elmo’s group, with fantastic steaks and the famous shrimp cocktail. Toasted ravioli are also delicious as are the filet sliders. Also a much larger and more diverse menu than just a steakhouse. Decent cocktails and always great service.

We had a great anniversary dinner here. The food was so good. I had a french onion soup that was awesome. We both had steaks that were so good. It is a really nice environment here. A real throwback look inside. I would make a reservation. So happy with our experience.

First trip to Harry and Izzy's. What a phenomenal place to try. It was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. From the moment you enter the establishment, you feel welcomed. We joined the bar area, and the service was impeccable. They are known for their shrimp cocktail, whoa! Excellent. The steak was on point, blue cheese wedge way above par, and let's not forget perfect cocktails. A must try when visiting the downtown Indy area.

Great place for steak and more. Was here for a business conference and came here for a happy hour, a dinner with colleagues and lunch with work partners. Needless to say, I was here three times in a 3-day span. 😅 The service was impeccable. The waiters and waitresses were super tentative and friendly. The food was excellent especially the steaks. I also ordered side Brussels sprouts salads which was delicious also. Highly recommend!

My husband chose this place for our Anniversary Dinner, and I loved it! They had a card signed by the staff on our table and a dessert (we chose the Creme Brulee) compliments of the restaurant! Thank you so much for helping to make our anniversary a special one! The food was amazing, and the bread was one of a kind! Our waitress was wonderful, and just the whole experience was one to remember! If Only I could give 10 ⭐'s

Excellent dining experience to say the least. Service was impeccable and quick, started with the shrimp cocktail which has amazing flavor and a strong burn from the horseradish, love it when it makes you cry. The Caeser salad was delicious and decent sized. The steak was cooked to perfection and was medium rare as requested. The mashed potatoes were creamy and full of flavor. The beer was served cold as well. Highly recommend this restaurant and the price is worth the elevated dining experience.

Amazing steak spot in Indianapolis! 🥩 Above all, the staff who worked here were incredibly attentive and extremely professional, especially for having to have handled such a large party! The steak here was cooked perfectly to my preference, and the classic side options that went along with it were just as good! The wine menu was great and the vibes were immaculate all around. Definitely a local favorite and worth your stop if you’re in the area looking for a fine meal!
