My wife and I are constantly on the lookout for good breakfast restaurants. We went to Charlie Brown's. It was was obviously a neighborhood staple! The place was crowded but there was no wait. The server was sweet and had no problems giving us advice on the food. After we ordered, we had a lovely conversation with a couple who had been servicing the restaurant for many years. When we got our food, we're were very satisfied with it. We paid and wished a good day to our new friends. Good place!

So shocked by all the great reviews. Nothing was good about our experience. We were told it was a 30-40 minute wait but it took just over an hour for us to get called only to be told we had been called in error. It was very clear that they had just given our table away to someone they knew who walked in right before us. Once we were able to finally order, it took us 55 minutes to get our food which was given to us by a very unenthusiastic server. Why would simple eggs and pancakes take that long. The food was just average and so not worth the wait. I only gave it 1 star as our waitress was ok and gave us a discount for the wait without us asking. Kinda makes me wonder that they have to do that alot. Fun name but wish we had taken a picture and ate elsewhere.

The service was awesome! French toast was delicious. Pancakes were dry, hard, and bland. Crowded but seated pretty quickly. A lot of the customers seem to know each other and staff which gave a cozy feel to the place.

Food has been amazing each time I've come in here. Had the French toast, eggs Benny, corned beef, and standards like eggs and hashbrowns. Highly recommend for brunch but definitely not on a Sunday morning. The wait is insane (for good reason). I try to go in on a Monday morning now and have no issues getting a seat at all.

We had a very long wait to get in, but our breakfast was fantastic! I got the Carb Day Benny and my wife got the Checkered Flag Breakfast. The Carb Day Benny was GREAT! The “Silver Dollar” pancakes were much larger than a silver dollar :) Service was fantastic!

First time here and it was packed! Usually when I go to a restaurant and it's as busy as this the whole experience is rushed and not as good as I'd like. This was NOT the case here. Even tho I had to wait 15min in a line that extended out the door I would say I was seated quickly. The waitress was very busy with multiple customers but she was able to get me my coffee quickly which is a make it or break it stipulation I have. I ordered my food and even though it was absolutely packed my order came out exactly as I ordered it even with a few substituted items. Everything was HOT fresh from the kitchen and the waitress did check on me often refilling my coffee as needed. Honestly I was expecting a train wreck of a breakfast experience but I was totally blown away by the service and food.

This place was extremely busy for breakfast for good reason! The food was delicious, atmosphere was fun, and customer service was spot on. They are very organized and had a seat ready for us within a reasonable amount of time. While we waited we could go next door to a browse a nice boutique. We ate the veggie benny and checkered flag. Both were delicious.

It was a great first experience I was happy with the vibe as soon as you walk in all the kool photos that are displayed. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious I do say if you think you want 3 try 2 because they are big and for as the hashbrowns with the eggs and ham made my day because finding a good breakfast place is hard sometimes. Will come again😃.

If you are a race fan, especially a fan of the Indy500, this place will have special meaning to you. Pictures of of past and present Indy500 winners abound, as well as many of those they are part of the sport. Die-cast models are scattered about in nice displays and there is simply so much to see. Not uncommon to see the odd driver stopping in for a treat, athough pancakes are not a typical menu item for many drivers these days. The food is decent American breakfast fare served all day, with an emphasis on pancakes. Coffee was also quite good. Service on our visit with 7 people was quick, pleasant and efficient. I would definitely come back as I could spend hours looking at the pictures and taking in the vibe. And I genuinely enjoyed my breakfast.

2nd time eating here. The food is bland but I understand why you can't season your food. DO NOT DO CARRYOUT. No syrup or butter for pancakes, fried potatoes BURNT beyond recognition. Biscuits and gravy no flavor as well as eggs. For 21 bucks and a tip I expected better service. Wish I could take my tip back.

Just thoughly enjoyed one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The food was very delicious, my country fried steak was fork tender and tasted great! Highly recommended, will not disappoint, lots to choose from and the plates I saw coming from the kitchen looked so good, Very reasonably priced, good portion wanted try them all! Even met the owner Liz as she walked around the restaurant to thank everyone for coming in. Super sweet lady! Will definitely be back, need to try the Haystack Extra ⭐️ for have my favorite hot sauce, Tapitio!

Waited about 10 minutes for a table. It’s ok, it was Sunday at 10:45am. After sitting & placing the order, it took almost 45 minutes to get breakfast. That’s a long time for eggs. Pancakes were good. Hash browns are better. Bacon was yummy. Toast needs another 30 seconds to brown. Relatively clean. Bathroom was fine. They serve Pepsi products. Ick. Went on a Tuesday. Wait for food was just 10 minutes and the service was marginally better. Good value. Fun for the autosport fan.

The atmosphere 5⭐ was really cool with a lot of racing memorabilia. I would say the food and service was good 4⭐and I would return but it's not a place to die for if you know what I mean.

I was going to give this place 4 stars, but I just can not as an overall restaurant. I have to give it 5 stars, but if I gave it a true overall rating it would 4.75. To be fair and also keep in mind it was a carry out order. So I ordered the basic breakfast which I have to say overall was not bad. The scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and pancakes were all pretty good. The eggs I will say were about a B+ overall. The grits left a bit to be desired. They tasted somewhat grainy, if they would have cooked the grits a bit longer they would have been better. The customer was pretty much everything I could ask for. I was greeted multiple times with smiling faces with no hesitation as soon as I walked in. They have a very nice setup of an old school diner feel. The pricing is just amazing especially in this day and age the meal was only about $11. My hotel was about 10 minutes away from the restaurant and at my arrival it was ready with perfect timing. (It was on a Wednesday around 9:30) Overall it was a good place that I would not mind going back to and would definitely recommend.

Charlie Browns deserves 3 1/2 stars, maybe even 4 stars in some respects. I liked the atmosphere; it's an old school diner decorated in a somewhat charming yet funky way. The facility is clean and has been kept up. The service was good and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. There were plenty of menu options with some unique dishes available. The prices were very reasonable. The portions were decent. The food was basic, but good. Will I return to Charlie Browns? I hope so.

Very touristy brunch restaurant (not super surprising given the location) with chaotic decorations and items for sale all over the place. The food was good and affordable; I ordered one of the skillets and it was plentiful and tasty. Service was a tad slow but it's race season so I expect that'll only worsen for a couple of weeks. I would consider going back for its proximity and the flavors, but the eyesore of a wall is too distracting for my tastes. Would probably be good to-go.

I just had the Larry's Haystack for breakfast! Absolutely delicious, and extremely friendly folks here! If you're ever nearby and looking for a filling, delicious meal... Give them a try!

Went in on a busy day. Wait was only 10 minutes. Super friendly staff. Fun warm environment with plenty to look at. The food came swiftly and was delicious. I had Larry’s Haystack and omg was I satisfied. Gravy was perfect and the sausage was just the right amount of spicy. I’m impressed and look forward to returning to try more things on the menu.

Home!! That is the best way to describe this place. We are out of town and the manager at the hotel we are staying at recommended this place to us.. when we first walked in we saw a regular get a hug from the staff, we knew we were in a great place… not to mention the food. Homemade gravy is never a bad thing!! My mom cleaned her plate which is a rarity!! We will come here when ever we are in Indy!!!

Very nice service. I came in mid morning on a Saturday and took a single at one of the two horseshoe shape counters. I had a custom omelet with pepper jack, spinach, bacon and avacado. It came with hash browns and selection of toast, pancakes or waffle. I opted for the sourdough toast which was very good, but I saw how large there pancakes are, which I would probably recommend. I also tried a half order of the pepper gravy & biscuits which was sharp with black pepper, but no issue with peppercorns as it was neither too course or too fine. The biscuits were not very tall, but it was fine as a side. My tab was $19 for all of the above and water. Short wait to sit, but fairly long wait for food on a Saturday morning as you might expect. This was later in September (not May).
