The lobby looked great when we entered but after that everything was a letdown. Poor customer service at the front desk checking in, another worker heard how rude the woman was we were trying to work with and came over to assist. After this we went and did our daily activities we had planned as a family, and returned to our room to finally check in and the room was dated and appeared dirty. We were all exhausted from the long day and quickly went to sleep, we awoke to find a bed bug, I brought this to the attention of the front desk and she got my information to the hotel manager to be in contact with me. I never heard from the manager, and customer service got in touch over a month later, and never provided any resolution or follow up. Avoid this site, stay at one of the other hotels nearby, or go to a Hilton.

The front of the hotel is beautiful and inviting, as is the courtyard. However, the rooms could be so much better. The rooms need to be updated with nicer carpet, furniture, etc to match the front of the hotel. Also, the walls are VERY thin. You can hear people whispering in the room next door. The location is not the best. I wouldn't recommend walking around. Make sure you have a car. The service was fine. I'm a person with a speech disability and I was laughed at by the front desk person while checking in, which was disappointing. Overall, I don't think I would stay here again. There are better hotels closer to the metro area.

Very clean hotel and everything seems functional. People were very nice checking in. But extremely dated hotel in a very bad need for an upgrade. This hotel should be forced to upgrade or lose its Marriott affiliation. I booked solely on name and location and I regretted it immediately upon pulling into the parking lot. I would not stay again. Note, they seem to have upgraded the lobby and front canopy and that looks great in the pics. That's what I went by. I didn't look at all the pics of the rooms and see how dated the design is. Not worth the price. Oh, and parking is $9!!?? What for? That's just a money grab similar to resort fees. No offer of free parking for Titanium either. They did give $10 F&B credit so it's a wash if you go to the bar/restaurant. But there is no need to charge for parking at this location.

I just moved back from Miami. Needed a place to relax for a couple days. I usually don’t have great experience at hotels because I travel nonstop for work, they’re too expensive for what you get, etc. I came in with 4 bags, easily 30 lbs more than I weigh. I was greeted with a smile & when I asked about help with my bags, the manager, Jeff said he would help me himself. He made me feel so special, upgraded my room, checked my room to make sure everything was in proper order. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. I went straight to dinner at the bar where Christina was working. She is so witty & wonderful at her job. Stacey was fantastic also. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend the wings & the salmon was cooked to perfection. The entire front desk staff was so amazing!! From grabbing me toothpaste because I forgot mine, being so cooperative with extending my stay, personable, & ever so polite. I would stay here every time. For every visit.

Stayed here November 26, 2022. We had blocked rooms for my daughter's wedding. The room was very clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and I loved the sliding doors to the bathroom. Also Ioved the live plants in the Lobby- The atrium was absolutely gorgeous! The staff was great, customer friendly and very accommodating, especially the security guard. Kudos to one of the front desk workers who gave my grandson a stuffed Marriott animal bear! I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others also! God bless the staff at Marriott East Indianapolis.

Exceptionally RUDE staff at front desk. Jeff was the only one who treated us with kindness and respect. A/C wasn't working in our suite. Room #574. Temp was up to 75°, so they sent up a maintenance guy. All he did was change the filter. An hour later, the room was up to 77°....and climbing. The fan on the HVAC unit is barely working, so even a freon recharge won't be enough. Front desk workers couldn't have cared less. I will be speaking to the organizers of our event, and will be strongly urging them to switch hotels in the future.

This Marriott location upholds the brand’s usual high standards, offering all the expected amenities. However, it is evident that the establishment is older, despite everything being clean and functional. My only issue during my stay was the discovery of a spider in my room. Other than that, everything was in line with what one would expect from a Marriott property. Additionally, there is ample parking available and the hotel is conveniently located near the highway.

The staff here was extremely kind and welcoming. This was true from the front desk to the cleaning team. And it wasn't the forced friendly you often get. I felt genuinely welcome! Rooms were clean and well cared for. Common areas equally so. Location isn't great if you're going to the convention center, and there's a real lack of anything but a couple fast food joints nearby. Also...tower rooms are nice but it's quite a hike. That said, cheaper than downtown, and if I have to keep costs down it's a good alternative!

We stayed here for the weekend, the front desk staff was awesome, ( Faith and Jeff), they were very personable and knowledgeable. The room was very spacious as well and the hotel was very clean. Will definitely choose this location the next time we are in town.

Very well-kept hotel. The bed/bedding/pillows are very comfortable! Smallest bathroom I've ever seen (the door just barely clears the toilet). Single-ply TP. Sink area is very nice. TV didn't work correctly (it shut off every time there was a commercial... very strange). Best continental breakfast I've ever had!

Stayed here many times for Days Of The Dead. Always a great time but this time was amazing. Especially the restaurant staff. They went out of their way thus year. If I could give 10 stars I would!

This is a large hotel complex providing much-needed, sophisticated accommodation space to the city’s east side. The venue is great for conferences and conventions, and its facilities are noteworthy for being easily accessible for people with disabilities and with a minimum of design barriers that can limit access.

Room was clean and spacious. However, the pool area was atrocious! Vomit on the side of the pool, pool party with liquor, food in the pool, unsupervised children, staff was made aware of the situation but never addressed these concerns. My children were EXTREMELY disappointed, as the ONLY reason we chose to stay in the area over night was for them to go swimming. We waited over 30 min for someone to come in and address these concerns, after calling twice, we finally gave up and went back to our room. When mentioning this to management on our departure, I didn't even get an apology! Will NEVER stay at another Marriott again.

This is the one time I booked through Expedia trying to save $20🤦🏾‍♂️ - Anyway, upon checkin - Jeff the MOD checked us in. We had our room and tax paid through Expedia who they directly bill for. We inserted our credit card for incidentals as usual and when it said approved, he asked we type in the card again - which we did. Upon checking our statement literally at the desk while checking in, we were charged over $200 for a transaction that both agents at the desk couldn’t even pull up. They charged the incidental fee like usual for the second charge which is completely fine. We ask Jeff why we were just charged twice and then one for over $200 he said he didn’t do it. We literally have the time of transaction, transaction done in person and the location - but it was still our fault and we had to fix it. We talked to another agent regarding this situation who personally called accounting to ask what to do said they’ll be getting back to us within 2 days, which is a lot more helpful then being told it’s our fault and to figure it out. Fast forward to the room, given an ADA Room with a brick wall as our window view. Interesting as multiple other rooms show as available when checked after as we didn’t request and ADA? And now fast forward to the pool trying to salvage 2 hours of getting absolute nowhere. We were in the pool for 15 minutes before we made the decision that we NEEDED to leave.. we witnessed a child walking in and out of the hot tub with sandals on, multiple children eating food in the pool, an entire floaty filled with food floating around the pool for a “birthday party”, a child running and of course slipping causing him to smash his head on the ground(!!!), and multiple GLASS bottle of wine being passed around the pool deck. This hotel should not be flying it’s current Marriott flag where the current management, accountability and quality stand. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve had in a decade.

Came to town for a wedding and decided to stay at this location as Marriott is usually nicer than most and it was the most convenient for the stay I needed. Staff was friendly and lobby was clean. The rooms not so much. The room was very damp everything in the room had a very damp feel to it. The bathroom clearly had not been cleaned properly. I opened the curtain to the shower and there was filth all through it as well as the last person's pubic hair laying all over the tub area. So I had to shower at the location of the wedding and get ready there which was hassle as that's why i paid 200$a night for this hotel to get ready. So sadly to say this was not an ideal stay for me and my family at this location. Probably won't be back. And I have yet to receive my "incident fee" back.

The hotel service was top notch. Very efficient and friendly check-in process. Room service dining is quick and high quality. Jeff Bobbitt was an exceptional representative for Marriott who made the check-in and stay experience awesome. He took his time to find the best complimentary room upgrade available, followed up with a call to ensure the room was satisfactory, and gave me terrific recommendations for the hotel bar and restaurant (which turned out to be excellent). I’ll be staying there again, without a doubt, next time my travels bring me to Indianapolis.

Arrived for check-in very late in the evening. Staff at the check-in were not trained to help someone using a Marriott gift card as a form of payment. Took quite a while and phone calls to off-duty managers to get the instructions they needed. The person staffed was attempting to be as helpful as he could along. His colleague wanted nothing to do with the matter. Room was clean and comfortable. But breakfast buffet was sad and absolutely NOT worth the money (over $20/person)

Very nice hotel with all of the amenities a business traveler needs. Friendly staff, clean lobby & room, Marriott made my stay very enjoyable. And a full service bar was nice to relax and have a 🍺 after a long day at work.

Recently stayed at this hotel for a state tournament. Room was decent and housekeeping was friendly. (Consider getting a window washer so we can look out of the windows from the room) Both times I tried to enjoy the Skylight restaurant, for convenience of not leaving the hotel, wait times were ridiculous, service was poor, and items were left off of meals because they are always out of everything! Front desk staff and restaurant staff was more interested in mingling with each other than caring for guest. African American lady that was bartending made sure to go help herself to some sugar cookies at one of her friend’s tables several times before making drinks that were ordered.

  • 3/5 Jason H. 5 months ago on Google
Here for pool tournament. There is a buffet for breakfast. Seat yourself and waiter/waitress will get your drink and silverware. Nobody stopped by. Very few eggs and biscuits left. No bacon, French toast, gravy. No bowls for cereal. For almost $17, I’d expect actual food. Went for dinner before a match in 90 min. Was told hamburger would be 15 Min. Finally 60 min later told them to cancel it. Wouldn’t you know it bartender immediately found my food that had been sitting at the bar the entire time. Many were complaining about the wait. A friend from time he ordered till paying was here 2.5 hrs. If you buy food from vendors at the event and walk out of the area to return with the same drink, you’re told to throw it away. Yet you look around and everyone has McDonalds cups, pizza boxes from outside the hotel, yet I couldn’t walk in with a Mt Dew I just purchased at the event. Rooms were fine. Staff at front desk are friendly. But don’t bother eating at the hotel.

What makes this Marriott stand out is the staff, everyone is friendly and attentive. This is a great conference level Marriott and they still have a concierge floor and all the extra niceties. Also, Jeff at the front desk is an absolute treasure of an employee. He made us feel very special and welcomed for our rewards status. I have never received a warmer welcome and he took care of every question and request with flair and professionalism. We will be looking for reasons to come back to this Marriott even if it's just to see Jeff.

Everything was amazing minus the fact that our room didn't have a fridge. The restaurant had amazing food and drinks. The hot tub and pool were both clean and well maintained. I definitely would stay again!

  • 3/5 Jerry J. 5 months ago on Google
Well, it could've been better. The TV in our room straight up didn't work. The breakfast and drinks are crazy expensive for how mediocre they taste. Also, the soundproofing is non-existent. Also, our phone in the room went off at 1 in the morning randomly. If you're thinking about staying here, I'd reconsider.

Jeff at the front desk was without a doubt the best hotel manager I've ever come across. Resolved some issues during check-in for me and went WAY out of his way to ensure guests had a great time. Jumping between the front desk and helping out at the very busy bar Jeff kept us smiling, laughing and enjoying our stay. A master class on customer service.

The customer service at this Marriott was excellent. There was a large teenage sports group staying at the hotel on the night we arrived. After traveling for 3 days, we really wanted some peace and quiet. The front desk agent, Jelicia, was able to put us in a first floor room in another wing so we could get a goods night sleep! The first floor room even had sliding glass door so we had easy access to our car and luggage. We will definitely be booking this location on our trip back home this summer!

The facility is older, but clean and had nice updates on the rooms. The location is very convenient to downtown and medical. Staff was great at check-in, but we couldn't find staff at very early morning checkout. Hilariously, someone has lost an analog watch or clock behind the nightstand or under the bed nearest the bathroom in room 206. It'll probably take moving furniture to find it (I looked with a flashlight and found nothing), but there's a faint, not unpleasant, ticking you can hear in that bed.

  • 4/5 Megan B. 1 year ago on Google
The room was great, the beds were very comfortable. The pool was very crowded, and dirty. No rules are followed. There were about 20 small children in the hot tub, with some parents sitting around the pool drinking beer in glass bottles. Luckily it cleared out some, and we were able utilize the amenities on the second day of our stay.

I travel every single week and have throughout the pandemic for work. It isn't often that I am shown appreciation for my loyalty to the Marriott brand but tonight at check in- I was blown away. In my business we provide places for people to call home. Your business creates spaces that make it feel like home and Jeff welcomed me like I was a family member walking into his home. I want to thank you for leaving a letter in my room welcoming me, a welcome gift, and your fantastic staff. Great job in leading the way for us travelers that often times are just "another check in". 👏🏻

I'm struggling between 2 and 3 stars on this one, but giving benefit of doubt and chalking up the mediocre stay to staffing challenges. My personal stay was decent as I was upgraded to the "Presidential Suite" which was very surprising. I was told it was a very nice room in a newer part of the hotel. That room happens to be in a different tower apparently, which was really the only good thing about the stay. The room didn't feel very "presidential" and just felt cold and dated (as did the rest of the hotel). But at least I had hot water, the rest of my party did not. Of the 4 of us that checked in, none of us were told that the hotel had no hot water. It was quite surprising to everybody when they tried to shower the next morning to walk into a cold trickling shower. Upon talking to others, we found out that the hotel actually had NO water on the day that we arrived, but again we were not informed of any water issues. The area that this hotel is in feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. There are a few chain restaurants around, but we were advised by an Uber driver not to walk anywhere in the area. This is definitely not a place I would plan to stay again without a major upgrade.

Was enthusiastic greeting soon as you come through door. They really want you to have a great stay. Jeff was going above and beyond to make my day. I would have changed my next stay in a week here but they don't have shuttle service. Definitely would stay again

I travel a lot for my work so I have stayed at many different hotels. This was easily the best customer service I have received. Jeff Bobbitt checked in me in. He offered me a room upgrade. He gave me a generous gift bag with water bottles and snacks. It wasn't just what he did but the joy with which he served. It's obvious he loves people and he loves his job. It made traveling for my job so much nicer. Hotel is a bit dated but well kept and clean. Customer service is 10/10

Jordan at the front desk was absolutely amazing. He greeted us with a smile. He even laughed at my jokes :). He handled himself very professionally. I am extremely impressed! Thank you for a good first experience here at the Marriott. Keep shining!!

If I could give service extra points, I would. I arrived around 6p on 2/21/23 and was greeted by the most amazing desk worker. I received a call my dog was hit on the road and I had to drive home (2hrs). The same young man took care of everything for me and didn't charge the credit card. Didn't know kindness still existed.

Booked a night here because my extended stay didn't allow checking in on Sundays. The place was very clean, as was the room (smelled clean, no smoking odor detected). The room had all essentials, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, hair dryer. The staff was very friendly, and cordial. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed again from the 21st to the 28th. Patricia in housekeeping was amazing she was so accommodating and attentive to us always with a smile! Loved her. Rock in security also had to assist us and he was delighted to help and he was such a cool dude. Oscar in housekeeping was also a stand up guy very helpful and understanding to our needs and helped whenever asked. Jeff at the front desk took a special interest in our dog and also helped us anytime we needed it. The stay was made possible by Diane and Melissa. They really went above and beyond to help us get in the room desired. So friendly, Really made us feel like guests request are important and accommodations can and will be made if possible.

I'm being generous by rounding to 3 stars for this hotel. Lots of bums around, seem really shady. Caught a couple of them doing unforgiven acts....around. Old rooms with old filters and old plumbing with old carpet on really old beds. At least I wasn't out in the cold! Don't know why I didn't get turn-down service today. Pictures will follow. Amazing entry/living way!

Service provided by the staff was absolutely phenomenal! Jeff at the Front Desk and Daniel in the concierge suite made us feel so welcome and catered to our needs! The rooms however did not live up to my expectations of what Marriott hotel rooms are! And that was disappointing😞. The cabinet that housed the mini fridge had one of its doors off the hinges. The bathroom/shower/toilet space was so tiny - there no hooks to hang up towels so had to hang mine inside the closet! There was only one day when the water in the shower was lukewarm! Rest of the days it was cold!Saturday morning (12/17) the water was extremely cold even though I ran it for almost 10 minutes hoping it would warm up! This is Indianapolis in December...temps were below 40° and I had to shower with cold water! I was not too thrilled about that 😒 Marriott I hope you make some enhancements in the rooms that match up your entry way cause you have a beautiful hotel! A definite standing ovation for all your staff - they were helpful and friendly and exemplify what stellar customer service means 👏

I had a three night stay for work and it was nothing less than a great stay! Felicia at the front desk welcomed me with a great smile (working on her birthday I might add). She was extremely helpful, accommodating, and made sure I had everything needed and taken care of before went up to my room. The room was very nice and comfy, my house keeping request was fulfilled quickly and the restaurant/wine bar was a nice added touch.

Had an amazing experience at Mariott East!! My husband and I were in town to attend a concert. The room was extremely clean, including under the beds and in the crack between the bed and the wall (which I always check upon arrival and many hotels never clean these areas). Beds were extremely comfortable. The only downsides to the room were minor, such as very small bathroom and no full length mirrors (disappointing when you’re trying to get ready for an event). The hot tub wasn’t hot when we first tried to get in but we told someone and they came to work on it immediately. The hot tub and pool area was extremely clean as well. Relaxing and visually pleasing lobby and lounge area with fire places, lots of real plants and full size trees growing right inside. The bar was awesome and the service incredible! Extremely sweet and attentive bar tender made our coffees the next morning which were so good! Would definitely stay here again and am looking forward to it!

My wife and I experienced a nice and clean hotel. Our check-in process was quick and the front desk person was friendly. Comfortable bed and the shower gell, shampoo, and conditioner were fabulous. One small gripe was the sound of the heat kicking on. It was quite loud; at some point our sleepy bodies tuned it out. Would definitely recommend stay.
