It's Yats, one of the best local restaurants for years. The food is delicious and very reasonably costed. This is a simple, no-frills concept, executed perfectly. The staff are always great and you can always ask to taste a little sample of any dish. Excellent food for catering too. Drunk Chicken is life.

Great place to stop for a bite to eat. Loved it here! I like the half and half plates, nice way to try out a variety. The bread is amazing.

The best meal in Indianapolis? Simple, chili cheese étouffée with crawfish. Creamy, savory and perfect to pair with their variety of hot sauces and their magic bread. Joe and his team continue to be deliver my favorite experience when visiting home again. Since my days in high school living around the corner, to my sadly less frequent visits being out of town, it’s a truly a pilgrimage for me. Iconic landmark and flagship location that defines a neighborhood and city on a whole.

Yats is simply awesome. I’ve been eating there for years. I love the environment and the staff but most of all the food. (Get extra bread!) The music sets just enough atmosphere to improve the dining experience and the staff often walks your meal out to you. Easy 5 stars. Will continue to go weekly.

I asked for something that wasn't written on the menu (White Chicken Chili) and they double checked to see if they had it - and sure enough they had just enough to serve me a portion. Service was exceptional and the server smiled so warmly when they brought all the scrumptious food (with bread *chef's kiss*) to the table... Next thing I know, another employee from the back of the kitchen brings an additional PINT of the leftover White Chicken Chili to my table and gives it to me for free. Their service absolutely exceeded expectation and went above and beyond to give us a great dining experience. Thank you Yats Broadripple for always being my go to place to eat & catch up with friends.

We had a great time eating here! It is such a good location and the staff was really nice. The nice lady at the counter gave us suggestions for our food. We are glad we got extra garlic bread (it is so good!!!)! We enjoyed it all. The prices are great, too. Can’t wait to go back!

I did myself dirty by having some of the most amazing creole food for my first time ever while I was in New Orleans. Since then, it’s been a mission to find that flavor that I experienced my first time but it sure has been a challenge. Yats got it. This flavor, the hearty creaminess. Yats is now a forever favorite when I am in the 317. Thank you for doing creole food justice! Also shout out to the incredibly welcoming and friendly staff!

Never a disappointment! As a vegetarian, I appreciate that there are always multiple options available to me. I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, so there are only a handful of dishes I've actually tried. Their menu changes daily and they do run out, so I look online before I go. I usually hope for the chili cheese etouffee, which they have rarely, but I also love their b+b, which they have daily, I believe. The b+b (black beans, corn, tomatoes, served over rice with bread) is awesome, and one full portion is enough for at least two, maybe four, meals for me. I get extra bread and eat the single dish for days, which makes it an extremely economical option. I used to live in Broad Ripple and work downtown so I was able to get Yats all the time-- now, it's a rare treat, so getting it is a special occasion! Great staff, cool decorations, sidewalk seating-- what more could you ask for?

Very laid-back and chill. The maque choux chicken and chili cheese shrimp etouffe are the epitome of comfort food. You will want to order extra bread because it. Is. Delicious. Big slices of toasted French rolls slathered with a Cajun spiced butter.

We got the drunk'n chicken, the red beans and rice and toffy cookies. This restaurant deserves 10 ⭐s if I was able to give them. The food was magnificent 🤤 and the atmosphere was great and did I say anything about the speed and graciousness of the employees being astounding because it definitely was. Will be going back for more.

Great Cajun place in Broad ripple area. Crawfish étouffée was good.

First time and pleasantly surprised! The chili cheese étouffée is some of the best I’ve ever had! And you get a great meal that fills you up for less than cost of a fast food meal deal nowadays. I will definitely be back!

Upon walking in, the smell of good food greets you at the door. I got a togo order of the crawfish etouffee and the red bean with sausage. The etouffee reminds me of my trip to New Orleans some years back, yummy. Tasting the food is like eating in a southern mama's kitchen- hearty and delicious. Plus the food is reasonably priced.

I got the chili cheese etouffee crawfish and it didn’t disappoint. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.

Yats is a great change of pace for me. I have tried several dishes and enjoyed them all. Make sure you get extra bread with your order you won’t regret it. Good Cajun is hard to find in Indy but Yats hits the mark.

Not a big menu selection, and it does rotate. They will give you a small sample to figure out what you want. Food was served fast and it is so good. Did not disappoint. Look forward to going again next time I'm in Indy.

Hey Friends, welcome to flavor town! I just love this place. If your into real New Orleans food then you’ve come to the right place. So authentic and delicious. It’s no frills dining. You will have amazing food, served in styrofoam to go container and cup. But this makes it super affordable. The staff was super friendly and we talked about the many wonderful offerings they have. The drunken chicken and red beans and sausage will delight your taste buds and tummy. Come down if you’re into great flavor and conversation.

Yats never disappoints. The food quality is top notch. I spoke with the owner/founder Joe about his recipes and he was very kind and helped me refine my technique. We discussed the cheese he uses and had a fun conversation about the use of dextrose in Shredded cheese. Love interacting with people who work here.

You can't live in or visit Indianapolis without trying this place! It's owned and run by the most wholesome people you will meet. I brought my grandfather from out of town in for dinner and the owner was handing out extra Jambalaya! Needless to say it's a staple and I will always be back for some of that elusive Gumbo.

Traveling Thru town came here today for lunch and I am blown away. This food is made and seasoned with so much Love. I could never get any closer to home than this restaurant. Hats off to the chef, and the lovely gentleman working the front who allowed us to sample everything we wanted to try. I will stop here every chance I’m in town. Wish I could give more stars!

It had been 10+ years since I have been back to this location...and it hasn't changed one bit! It has all the charm you'd expect and the selections are always top notch. I only wish there was a way to have the super-super split plate with all the choices on the menu! Perhaps that could be the "hidden"menu option when I return.

If you are in the mood for chili- the vegan chili is delicious. Bread is yummy, too- also vegan.

Yats is simply incredible. It's as satisfying as any burger, steak, or ribs. I cannot say enough good about it. The Chili Cheese is amazing with their signature 'Louisiana Lightning' hot sauce. It's under 8 bucks and totally worth every cent.

Phenomenal flavor without excess heat, though they have a great selection of sauces if the heat is what you want. We tried a variety of dishes and it was all wonderful. Quick service and they took the time to explain their menu to us out of towners. Fantastic experience all around

Had the chili and cheese étouffée with crawfish and it was delicious!! Good side portion for the price, too! I missed eating authentic Cajun food so this really hit the spot!! Yummy!!

Very unique nice place definatly and experience. They don't have too many options to pick from but I highly recommend the chili cheese etouffee with crawfish it was very very good. My boyfriend got the gumbo and loved it. They give bread with every meal and it is different but really good. Definaly go if you like cajin food.
