One of the worst experiences ever: 1. The hotel is very old and shabby. 2. A cleaning lady accidentally splashed some bleach cleaner onto my dress, causing its colour to fade. 3. I don’t know how they clean the room but the whole room smelled like bleach and irritated my eyes.

Over priced with poor service e.g. breakfast arrangement. The hotel restaurant was overcrowded and my family had to stand and queue for more than 30 minutes to have our seats. Sea view is ok as there was actually a hill blocking the beginning of the sunrise.

This is a local resort style hotel by the Silvermine Bay Beach. My first visit to this hotel was over 35 years ago, last visit was 10 years ago. This time was 2 days ago , so I can tell the big differences of their changes. They have done many upgrades and the restaurant is now a very nice western style restaurant . I have tried their set lunch, price is reasonable and food is good. Their BBQ set is popular too. Facing the Silvermine Bay Beach , has the best view to see the beach and the ocean. A place that I will come back again and again.

Absolutely horrible service from restaurant staff. Yelling at me and my dog for using their things then having an attitude when asked to bring food to our table when I thought the hotel promotes pet friendly service. Booking is a headache. No contact number, had to talk to reception through Facebook messenger the entire time often an hour between replies. Basically charged me $800 more just for lending me their dog bowl and towel for the night. All together paid 1700 to stay in a room, get humiliated and serve myself. Would NOT recommend this to anyone wanting a nice getaway with or without their pets.

Definitely a nightmare experience! First, the room is a bit dirty and old, though the size is fine. Second, I rented the bicycle for a ride but the quality was a bit bad. Third, the service of the restaurant was really bad, staff was not responsible; staff did not come to set our table after at least 20 minutes and the reason was that we sat outside; then we went inside to get the utensils ourselves and ordered directly, but after almost another 20 minutes, we were not even served the soup but the people came after us were already eating; when we went inside to attempt to order, a waitress told us she was busy.... Fourth, the wall between rooms was very very thin! We were assigned to a connected one, and the door between the rooms was locked. However, as the family staying at the room next to us came with another family, they gathered in the room at night. Adults kept talking, kids kept shouting and dog kept barking until at least 1am. And I could hear quite clearly from my room, which made us couldn’t sleep!! Fifth, as I brought my dog and I had to buy the pet package which cost $1665. With such bad experience, it was completely not worth while with this price, we could definitely have many other better choices in HK.

Many of the facilities were a scam. I am disappointed in the quality of the facilities: many of them were dilapidated. The website states that there would be badminton as an "outdoor activity". However, when I asked the receptionist about this they only offered to give me a shuttlecock and asked me to find an area to play by myself. What a wonderful lie. I am further disappointed by the so called Rec Room. It is hidden in an area difficult to find, and is basically a small guest room with all the bed and furniture moved up. The only things in there were a Chinese snooker table and a collection of filthy comics, along with a table hockey set that cost 130 dollars for half an hour. What sort of cost is that?

Moving away from a busy city for a break and to relax with sands under your feet and beat the heat of the sun with sea wave or a plunge in a pool, Silvermine Beach Resort is a good place in Lantau. It is just a few meters away from Mui Wo beach. They don't offer free bottled water but they have free refilling station in their hallway. Make sure to check out on time otherwise you will be charge extra HKD200.

Location is great. Walking distance to Pier, beach, waterfall, mine cave. However, staff counter service or customer service are close to none. You may never contact them by phone and they will not respond to your online enquiries.

The experience was close to awesome. There were a lot of bad reviews on TripAdvisor, but I had already made the booking. So we went there with low expectations. But our expectations were met. Actually, the place is nice. The location is awesome. The bike ride and cycling tour was awesome. Even though the rains didn't allow us to enjoy the beach and so many other amenities like the swimming pool, since the thunderstorm warning sign was in effect most times during our stay. To make it short, the room was okay, amenities are okay, restaurant is great, food is amazing, just less variety for the breakfast options. Just make up your mind to enjoy the stay. And get some body insecticides if you are allocated rooms facing the garden, cause we found some few ants around. There were not dangerous to us, but its okay to be safe, especially for kids. Just try as much to use all the facilities. Use the beach, use the gym, go for barbecue, use the couple bike, do some cycling, some swimming, some kayaking etc. Anything that makes you happy, and your stay will be awesome. If you love to hike, there are several areas to do that around too.

Along the seaside, and it's famous for the people who goes there for a family BBQ as it's overlooking the whole seaside. 5 minutes walk to the Mui Wo ferry and Bus Station.

poor interior, looks old overall. showerhead was leaking, the receptionist is helpful to handle. wifi is not working. perfect location for beach lover. no discount for dinner at restaurant. two usb ports only work if the tv is on, super low charging. two game stations close at 10pm. very disappoiting living experience to me.

Lots of great activities to do, walk a few steps and you'd be in the section of the beach that is pet-friendly. Hotel package with dinner and breakfast for 2 was a good deal. Recommend you call Lantau taxi when leaving if heading to Tung Chung station, taxi is not always around!

The hotel isn't bad but it's okay the rooms are clean but their a bit plain and the swimming pool and backyard is fun to play but the drinks in the vending machine I think is overpriced because you can cycle further and buy the the drinks cheaper the swimming pool has a shop to buy water guns and toys which are cheap but they break easily.

Had the local BBQ there, normal food/items but great fun and view! Don't bother too much for food, great price too! HKD188/pax + fees

Good place to relax on the beach. Nice swimming pool with a separate kids pool. Well managed. Can cycle around Mui Wo with dedicated cycle lanes as most of the villagers commute on cycle.

Complacent staff, dated property, no idea of hospitality. Very hostel-like approach. The bed sheets were clean though. Location is it's best feature.

Nice place for pets and family for leisure!! Nice beach around there, dogs love swimming there. Allow pets to live in. Room service is average!! Price is acceptable. It includes free breakfast and dinner. Food of the restaurant is ok. Most of the rooms are clean.

Great view and prime location but the rooms have a smell and the breakfast was of very poor quality. My wife was sick because of the chemical product used for the cleaning.

Best location ever; however, the hotel is a bit outdated, no elevator, clean up is not fully with dust on the door knob, and toothpaste on the sink.

It was good. But why no lift ☹️😂. Stairs good for exercise but when with many children and many travel bag we definitely need lift to go up. Also breakfast serve to long ,, it's just very simple breakfast and kind fast food meal but serve long time waiting. Place is nice and clean , friendly staff and crews. So many fasilitas , Playground, archery, swimming pool, badminton , ball game , bikes riding , barbeques.....

The pictures don’t reflect the actual “resort”. Rooms are old and not looking sanitize according to American standards. You cannot drive to the resort. You have to walk for about a block to get there.

The place is old and dirty starting from the reception area. It could've been a great place because it is so close to the beach. The location is great. The staff manning the reception are not friendly. We didnt have a dog with us, but they gave us a room where guest with dogs are allowed. The kitchen is closed at 8:30 so when we went there to have dinner, we were turned away. Breakfast starts at 8 which is late for me because i wake up early. Rooms and bathroom need attention! I will not stay here again.

You go there for the location rather than the hotel. The overall stay was fine but the hotel is getting old... in details: - Room size is okay but they could be refreshed, the beds are comfy. We had no view, just a wall in front of the window. -Breakfast was so so. - The swimming pool area is nice and with cool landscape views on the mountains. - The location is great, peaceful, no cars, and nice views in the bay. From the terrace you are a few meters from the sea, it's really pleasant to eat, or even as we did, work from there. I had only two interactions with the staff. One upon arrival wasn't super friendly. Another while sitting on the terrace eating a bit of food coming from somewhere else, we were scolded and asked to leave the place!

The rooms are not expensive, but dont put too much expectation on the food, good that they got bikes for hourrly rent, can travel easily to nearby spots

Better than expected. Clean room. Spacious. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Nice shower. I appreciated the environmental awareness around water bottles etc. Just don’t expect luxury. Everything is dated and old but it’s fine. Breakfast was pretty bad (gross sandwich meat and sausages) - although I had noodles there for lunch and they were quite good. Stayed mid week so room was cheaper and it was nice and quiet. I would go back but would not choose breakfast option.

Paid extra for sea view room. No lifts….got bit to pieces by bed bugs! Powdered eggs instead of real ones at breakfast hardly any staff around…food was terrible location is the only thing going for this old place! Woken up everyday at 4am by guests who had no care for anyone. In need of a lot of TLC avoid with caution

staff is rude. im not sure if it's the culture or what but i've been to many countries and it's my first time to ask for a glass of ice and was responded with 'what do you need it for?' when i said for drinks, he asked me where I bought it and when I said outside he said no why would I give you ice you didnt buy here. rude af. ive been to both cheap and expensive hotels but it's my first time experiencing this. the old man in the reception and the filipina lady are more hospitable and kind though.

😠 They close at 11, but they just randomly pick their last order time depends on the mood of the workers. Sometimes it is 1030 sometimes it is 1015 (yea can you believe it, its a cha chan tang and you usually finish your food in 15mins)

👍 Famed for being awarded one Michelin star between 2009 and 2019, the food was indeed delicious, having that distinctly HK taste. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was hearty and filling. The pork and shrimp wrapped in bean curd is a must-order. The flavors bursted in my mouth and were very addicting. Th...
