Most beautiful location in Jerusalem across from the Old City Walls. Very clean theater, good sound in the halls, pleasant service.

One of the institutions that make Jerusalem more than a religious center to the world and a source to a never-ending political mess. The screening halls are very good with large screens and very good sound. The film festival has a unique vibe that's worth a special visit.

The Jerusalem Cinematheque is a cinematheque and film archive in Jerusalem, Israel. The Jerusalem Cinematheque was founded in 1973 by Lia van Leer. It was originally located in Beit Agron in the center of Jerusalem. A new building overlooking the walls of the Old City, close to the Hinnom Valley, was opened in 1981 with the financial support of the Ostrovsky Family Foundation, the Jerusalem Foundation, the Van Leer Foundation, and private donors. In addition to screening halls, the Cinematheque houses the Israel Film Archive, an archive of films from the 1920s to today, The Nathan Axelrod Newsreel Collection, the Joan Sourasky-Constantiner Holocaust Multimedia Research Center, the Department for Film and Media Education, and the Lew and Edie Wasserman Film Library.

First time visiting this place. Such cozy and pleasant. The seats are high quality, everything is clean, coffee shop is not over priced. The atmosphere is fantastic, the audience which came to watch the movie was respectful and polite. Really enjoyed there and would totally recommend.

beautifully located overlooking the old city, this is one of Jerusalem's most prominent cultural centers, home to the Jerusaelm Film Festival as well as various additional events throughout the year, and of course, you can always catch some hard to understand european or far eastern cinema classic and come out feeling oh so sophisticated

Amazing atmosphere. Visited to watch a movie on Jerusalem Film Festival. It's a really great place for people loving cinema. There is also a small shop where you could buy Israel related movies and documentaries.

We went to the restaurant here Levan. The service was friendly and helpful. The suggested meal was very good and something I probably would not have ordered on my own. It was the black pasta with seafood and it was so good! This restaurant is open on Shabbat. It was a short walk from our hotel.

👍👍 Jerusalem's most famous cinema! With a long heritage behind the place, and after almost getting closed last year, The Lev Smadar is just amazing. They made a very big and nice renovation, that really made the place welcoming and pleasant. The building itself is just magnificent, in the old neighbor...
