This is where Jesus first called his disciples. This is also the place where he returned after resurrection to meet his disciples. These are the steps from the harbour, the boats came in here. Jesus asked, “do you have any fish?” Every number has a meaning when translated, they caught 153 fishes and the net didn’t break, 153 translates to “I AM”(John 21) Very interesting parallel of how Adam and Eve covered themselves and how Peter had to cover himself too because of the shame of denying him much earlier. What is holding you back from loving the Lord completely?

In a shady park close to the lake side lies the Franciscan church of the primacy of St Peter. Women can be refused entrance if they don’t cover there shoulders and their knees. The flat rock (Christ’s table) in front of the altar is believed to be the place where Jesus and his decipels had breakfast with fish. The side itself I give three stars but the fact that the Franciscaner friars were talking with religious visitors touched me and therefore I rated it four stars.

Beautiful, quiet and most of all, interesting. Unlike the nearby Churches of Tabgha, the entrance is free. Only one problem, but significant, there are no parking available around and you'll have to find a space somewhere. Unless you'll park at the nearby Churches of Tabgha, but then the entrance is not cheap at all.

As part of our pilgrimage, we visited this beautiful church of St. Peter. This church marks the spot of Jesus's reinstatement of Peter as chief apostle. Also, the place where Jesus made his third appearance to His Apostles after His resurrection.

Beautiful historical biblical place where Jesus is said to have laid out a breakfast of bread and fish for the Apostles. There are the rock steps next to the curch where Jesus came out from the See of Galilea

Beautiful area right on the Sea of Galilee, with trees and places to sit down and enjoy nature, though it can be crowded with big groups. The church isn't very big but an important place in Christian history. We went in a group of 50 on a Holy Land tour in November 2022.

The Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter is a Franciscan church located in Tabgha, Israel, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. It commemorates, and allegedly marks the spot, of Jesus' reinstatement of Peter as chief among the Apostles. A good view of the lake with round good looking stones.

Such a peaceful place to be at. It has one of the most stunning views of the Sea of Galilee and definitely has a rich culture and history surrounding it. The church also has this beautiful simplicity emanating from its four corners. A must visit for every Pilgrim.

The Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter was a very pleasant surprise on our Tour of the Sea of Galilee area. This is supposed to be the spot where Jesus reinstated Peter as chief among the Apostles. The church is very well appointed with stunning stain glass windows. This modern church was built in 1933 and has parts of the 4th century church incorporated into the design. The church is very close to the water of the Sea of Galilee making the church experience even better. Popes Paul VI and John Paul II visited the church during their visits to Israel in 1964 and March 2000 respectively.

great church, very important to Christians, the story of the church Jesus’ third appearance to his disciples after his Resurrection, when he tested and commissioned St Peter as leader of his Church. This was a favorite spot for fishermen from nearby Capernaum, and its beach was familiar to Jesus and his disciples.

There are a lot of reviews on the site, so I will not describe the historicity and religiosity here. I want to write as a non-religious person: My wife and I decided to visit this Church on our own, not as a group with a tour. It's quiet and nice place. It was comfortable just to be here. To visit this Church you need to avoid a certain interval of hours when the gates are closed so be sure to do this.

The Church of the Primacy of St. Peter is a Franciscan Chapel in Tabgha in Israel built in 1933 on the site where Jesus is believed to have reinstated Peter as the head of the Apostles. This was the third time that Jesus had appeared to his disciples. Parts of the current structure of the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter derive from a 4th century church that once stood there.

Pretty cool place, but the main Friar is a jerk. For a place that should be joyful, he appears to be a Scrooge. He got onto me for bringing in a “professional camera” as well as a lady in our group for wearing a sleeveless (but still modest) shirt/blouse.

Wow what a cool silent beach. Seems like an interesting visit to the Kineret lake. Close to Capernaum and Tabgha and the hidden waterfall.

Both the park and the church of Saint Peter, located right on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, are beautiful and well-kept.

This is one of the most Holy Places. This is where the birth of Christianity. This place is where Jesus said to Peter you are a rock and on this I'm building my church. When I'm reading the Holy Bible now, I could pictursize the places written in the words through experiencing by self.

This is the tiny church off to the side before you get to the main church at Capernaum. The grounds are beautiful and at the end you find a peaceful little beach where the water laps against the shore. There is no doubt the spiritual atmosphere here makes things even better. I never expected to come to the Sea of Galilee much less be in the presence of something so much bigger than me. I am incredibly grateful that history has allowed little things like this to rediscover its glory.

We visited Church on the way to Tiberias city. It easy to get to Tabgha by road 90. In front of church is tinny square, so if you travel in hot summer is good place to find some shadow. Church not so large inside, but very appeasement. I liked stained-glass windows. From another side of church is Kinneret lake, but bathing is forbidden. It very nice place to visit!

Calm place right on the water with a church that has places to pray and reflect. This space is very busy but not too much that you can't think or hear your guide. There are wooded areas to seat small groups and talk as well.
