A must visit museum for every person on the planet. The horrible history our not that distant ancestors experienced must not be forgotten and learned in the near and distant future. The visit takes around two hours and includes lots of exhibits, interview with survivors ands lots of interesting reading materials. The building itself is very impressive and the view in the end is mesmerizing. Note that you must have a green pass to enter.

A must for everyone. It is an educational visit. Budget ample time. It isn’t easy. But it’s necessary for Jew and non Jew alike. There are no tickets or admission fees. But they will hand you and entry permit. Take Herzl exit in light rail (end of the line) and either catch a free shuttle or walk down road. 10 min max walk.

Extremely impressive place to remind us of the darkest chapter in German history. We as Germans are taught about Holocaust quite much at school, but visiting Yad Vashem many of the presented historical facts were new to us and gave us a new perspective. And also the architectonic arrangement of the main exhibition hall is remarkably impressive: The closer you get to the end the more horrible are the presented events. The construction doesn't allow you to walk directly to the end of the main hall, which is great because this way the visitor has to undergo the whole history and can't just pass it without taking notice. Visiting this place is a must, especially for Germans!

Yad Vashem: Will be one of the Most Historical, Beautiful, Educational, Somber and Sorrowful Places You Could EVER Visit. As if Learning about the Holocaust wasn't enough; This Place puts everything you ever learned about the Holocaust into a WHOLE Different Perspective and I couldn't Stop Crying The whole time. I was enveloped with every photograph, every sound, letter, artifact, diary, projections on the walls, music; even others walking around with hands over their mouths to muffle their cries. This place puts your Mind back into another time in World History, where Millions of innocent Lives were Taken. A must visit museum for every person on the planet. The horrible history our not that distant ancestors experienced must not be forgotten and learned in the near and distant future. One of the most incredible museums about the holocaust I've ever been to. So many objects, statements, information, etc. You need to book your visit in advance, due to this museum is sooooo busy, you not going to be able to get access without a previous booking. Only 15 minutes from Jerusalem's city centre it is a great opportunity to see a big collection of one event we hope that it never happens again.

Great museum, I'm usually not a fan of historical museums. But at some point even I was taken away by the stories I read and interviews I watched. I expected to walk through it all within an hour but it caught more of my attention so I was there for about 3hours.

I visited this place with friends, you should prepare yourself very well emotionally and spiritually, it's not like any museum, the way it design is really unique and the narrative meanwhile the diversity of the contents, the way they present in the same time the politics aspects. I hope this place will be more open to accepting people from different perspectives and religions. The location of this place is provocative for some people and neighbors, that's what I heard.

Please do not miss this site in Jerusalem. Despite the sombre and horrific nature of this time in our history, you owe it to yourself to go. I found Yad Vashem seems more of a historical and record keeping institution and this is actually a good thing. So many terrible stories, so many names of the dead that it makes you realize its importance as a holder of unassailable truth

A very important place to visit. Prepare your heart to be moved and forever changed for purpose. This memorial site is done indescribably well, it evokes strong emotion and provides a valuable education. The architecture of the building is stunning and there is not a detail forgotten. I’ve been twice and had Hazie as a guide both times, she’s amazing! I believe everyone should visit a Holocaust Memorial.

A very large museum filled with PLENTY of history. This is an all day trip to really take everything in. I was on a three hour guided tour and we still had to skip parts, skim others, and just miss bits and pieces. The layout is brilliantly designed to make one feel claustrophobic and to lead from one place to the next in chronological order, with blockades in the middle of the isle to force you further in. There is real cobblestone as well!

Very impressive and interesting telling of the story and terrible history of the holocaust. Inside is a lot of information and outside it's very nice to walk around. All trees are a memorial to someone who helped Jewish people during the time.

Outstanding. A must see if you come to Israel. The museum has a terrific, modern architecture with plenty of significance. The displays are in chronological order. I thought I knew a lot about the Holocaust and found out I knew very little. The displays are super powerful.

(Translated by Google) It is important for every Jew to visit. We took our granddaughter who was a bat mitzvah a month ago because I am a second generation of Holocaust survivors. Everything is new and much more up to date. It was exciting and interesting, very neat and the visitors kept their distance and played respectfully to the place.

(Translated by Google) Yad Vashem does not allow people who do not use the Internet for religious and conscientious reasons. They do not allow you to make an appointment by phone and sign a health declaration at the entrance. Is this the exclusion of the ultra-Orthodox? Absolutely fascinating place. You'll need a booking reservation. This can be completed on arrival, but entry could be delayed. Bags aren't permitted. Free lockers are available downstairs. There is more to the place than you may think. Be sure you have plenty of time. It's definitely worth the time.

Nobody can miss it! There are a lot of real videos, pictures, belongings and statements by survivors. Spare 3 to 4 hours to spend there. The whole experience is just amazing and very touchy. I suggest you leave the children's memorial to the end. I got there by tram + short walk. Quick, easy and cheap. Entrance to the museum is free but you need to book in advance. Map is 12 nis and I suggest you buy it. If you are blessed like me, you will meet a lovely lady who is a survivor and she will explain the map to you.

This museum is so well designed and arranged. With an audio guide, it was like a history class with all the evidences right in front. The main theme is more of reflection on the humanity weakness and greatness rather than hatred against someone. It was very powerful and touching to the heart. Love it. Highly recommended.

A highly emotional experience. The exhibition is finely thought-out and presented, fully encapsulating the reasons, results and outcome of the Holocaust. The complex also includes several memorials set around the park. Admittance is free, so there is no reason that precludes the curious visitor of visiting the museum. A must-visit when you’re in Jerusalem.

I’ve been here a few times. This time I’m here as part of a Holocaust education seminar and I did a guided tour. The raw emotion and feeling is incredibly special. The narrative and it’s connection between the past and present leaves a lot to ponder on. There is nothing quite like walking through Yad Vashem. Give yourself some time. You’re going to want to process and learn. There are many more elements of the Yad Vashem complex as well. Take some time to look people up in their sophisticated computer system. Stroll through the grounds and take in the monuments and plaques for over 20,000 righteous among the nations, people who risked their lives to save Jews during the Shoah. This is and will continue to be one of the most important experiences on your israel visit.

Incredible museum! If you're in the region it's a must! Allow for 1/2 a day to wallow through the whole park. The main building (which is architecturally stunning btw) guides you through the Holocaust, describing the main events but also the daily struggle of individual people, while zigzagging through the building. At the end of the main building awaits an incredible view over the forest. An absolute must see!

Holocaust memorial from the Jewish victims' perspective. Other victim groups were mentioned in passing, but this memorial has a specific focus, rightfully so considering the location. It was a very interesting presentation and use of architectural design to emphasize the story being told. A lot of information to process. And, it was very busy and crowded. We had a tour guide from the facility take our group through and she was able to cover the important points in a bit over 2 hours. Of course that was her emphasized perspective. Very few places to sit down along the way and you walk on concrete, for those whose back or feet are affected by that. You can go through without a guide as there is plenty of reading material, placards and the like, as well as a lot od video footage from the era, that explains most everything. This site could be very distressing to certain people, especially younger children. Some of the images of what the Nazis did are quite horrific, actual photos and movies of their activities including mass graves and actual firing squads over trenches and the bodies falling in after the head shots were taken, you see this in the movies--the Nazis recorded for posterity's sake. An important visit, but a difficult one as well.

Very educational and informative Holocaust museum and memorial located in Israel. It displays historical exhibits, including pictures, articles, objects, videos and so forth. What was particularly memorable was the video in which they vividly depicted how the Nazi tortured and obliterated Jews, killing them and carrying their dead bodies with bulldozers. While other holocaust museums abroad tend to avoid depicting the actual images such as these to avoid making people overly shocked, Yad Vashem focuses on telling the truth, which is to be commended. Recommended for anyone interested in the history of Israel, and particularly the truth of it.

If you are in the area you have to go. Give yourself a few hours so you can view and process everything that is here. It is raw emotion and a presentation of the facts without any hand holding or pulling of punches, facts are laid bare for you to see without sterilization or omission. Advise a mature visitor as those younger may be overwhelmed

Truly one of the more moving experiences of my life. One will never truly be able to comprehend the way us Jews were treated during the Holocaust but the many testimonials and artifacts will begin that journey if you haven't already had exposure to Holocaust education

Quite the place. Probably the most expansive Holocaust museum in the world, with detailed stories about the brutalities that occured before, during, and after the Second World War. We did not have time to go through the entire museum because we had a limited time frame, but one could easily spend hours reading, watching and listening to people who lived (and was murdered) through this time period. An experience that certainly impacted our group deeply during our trip to Israel. I'll end this review with a version of a poem by late Martin Niemöller: "First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist, Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist, Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist, Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew, Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me." This quote is, in my opinion, quite relevant today, as we see civil rights receding in most of the Global South, but also in countries like the United States. Remember who will fight, and always has fought, against the oppressors.

I took a tour with some friends. We were given headphones that connected to our guide. My wife and I decided to leave a little before the tour concluded. We were told by staff that everyone must turn in the headphones together. The staff would not be responsible if headphones went missing. Sorry but that system doesn't work. It's very easy to set up a check in check out system using bar codes or other means. The museum is very powerful. It really takes a couple if days to appreciate it all. Makes you wonder about the future of humanity.

A place that anyone in Jerusalem should visit. A museum that really takes you back to the Holocaust period and makes you understand how it was (at least for an outsider like me). I hope things like this never repeat in history, and a good way of avoiding it is by remembering how and when it already happened.

Doesn't matter how many times you have been before, go again. With the vast amount of items in this museum you will definitely discover things you had not noticed before. If you have enough time get a guide through the main exhibition, their knowledge is amazing and no two tours are ever the same. Once you been through the main exhibition be sure to spend some time walking around the grounds, there is a lot of other stuff to see and it is always pretty quiet outside.

Everyone should visit this place. It can be very emotionally taxing though, so be sure to bring water, stay hydrated, and leave your schedule nice and loose. It closes at 5pm, so come early in the day as it takes at least an hour or two just to get through the main hall. I highly recommend seeing the children's memorial after the hall. Bring good shoes, since you will be standing a lot. There is seating here and there, but definitely a lot of standing and looking. Entrance is free, but the audio guide has a rental fee for the headset. You will have to leave ID as collateral, so don't forget to bring that. The audio guide is very good, and I highly recommend it if you don't have a tour guide. Honestly, it's just as good and maybe better than a guide.

(Translated by Google) The museum itself is quite nice. The problem is the inaccuracy of the data in relation to the Catholic Church, especially the papacy. The discontinuation of documents relating to the horrible time of the Holocaust has shown some aspects of history that are contrary to what several panels affirm that judge negatively and severely the role of Christians in general and of the ecclesiastical hierarchy in particular in relation to this disastrous, deplorable and unjustifiable genocide. In all fairness, it would be the right time to change these panels, as they spread falsehoods that hinder the relationship between Judaism and Christianity, between Jews and Christians, giving way to the typical topics that emanate from the lack of veracity in the information.

(Translated by Google) One of the most important places I've ever been. According to some friends, I had wanted to visit the museum for a long time and finally had the opportunity to do so in summer 2019. Yad Vashem not only serves to commemorate the murder victims of the National Socialists, but is (in my opinion) also a monument of humanity / hope in general and plays a decisive role in making the repetition of such a crime in the world less likely through education and debate do. It is painful to watch all the horror because it consists of very cruel images and very sad stories. Nevertheless, it is the duty of every decent person to confront it and thus understand what extremists can do when others offer too little resistance. The staff was friendly. The connection to public transport was good. The location and architecture are beautiful. Entry is free.

Hard to believe the evil that the Jews had to endure from the Nazis as well as surrounding countries. Never forget! The museum is extremely well done and the children's memorial definitely brought tears to my heart and soul.

It was very moving and well presented. The world needs to see how these atrocities came about so we can never let this type of thing happen again. The only negative I could see was the crowding in the individual rooms which made it difficult to see many of the exhibits.

It will never be possible to understand how such evil existed. This place takes you on a journey through time and year after year reveals the events that led to it. This is a rare and humane record of the atrocities that took place, and of the starvation that took place. This is a visit you should not miss. It will definitely make you think about human nature and the things it is capable of doing to other human beings.
