Greatly significant monument park, normally flooded with people. There's not many places to sit or shade from the sun.

The Istanbul Republic Monument, located in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey, is a prominent symbol of the Turkish Republic. Erected in 1928, this monument stands as a tribute to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of modern Turkey, and commemorates the victory of the Turkish War of Independence. The monument features a striking statue of Atatürk, flanked by two lion sculptures, and serves as a reminder of Turkey's struggle for independence and the establishment of the republic. It holds a significant place in Turkish history and is an iconic landmark in the heart of Istanbul.

lots of people litter in this area. I saw people let their dogs popping in the park. It's so disgusting. Also cars and motorcycles are quite fast even though a lot of people are passing through. Accident waiting to happen.

A most visited place when you come Turkiye. A lot of shops, even international brand is here. One of the main attractions. This very happening place and road down going towards Galata tower. You can have delicious Turkish food, Kebab, Coffee, Snacks and shopping. must go place if you are visiting Istanbul. And dont forget to have fresh juice! you can also enjoy Tram but walk is better go from Monument to Galata Tower by walk.

A monument for Ataturk and the republic of Turkey! It is in a large outdoor space with nearby concrete seating for watching the crowds gathering and going from Taksim Square. Also has nearby Istanbul name in red to take photos with.
