Awesome hostel location. I had a private room with shower and toilet which was superb. The airport buses are 5 min walk away and you’re in the middle of the city here. The staff were really helpful and fun. Breakfast wasn’t particularly great, but there’s plenty of nice food around. I can recommend the coffee shop across from the hostel for a nice tea/coffee.

Great hostel in Taksim! Google lists this as a 2 star hostel; it deserves at least 3 stars. I paid a bit extra for a 6-bed room with private toilet and shower. The good: * great location. 3 min walk to Taksim Square. 10 min walk from Metro. * free breakfast from 8am-10am (I personally don't like Turkish breakfast, so I would just enjoy milk and cereal). * 50 lira to do laundry + drying. Staff can help you. * 25 lira for towel services (unlimited during your stay) Could be better: * the rooms are small. Not much space to leave your luggage. * love that the rooms come with lockers, but the lockers don't have shelves or compartments. * I was assigned a top bunk. Not only do I not like top bunks, the ladder was directly against the wall, so I didn't have anything to hold on to as I scaled the ladder, making it difficult to climb.

Perfect location! the hostel located very close to the airport bus station just walking distance. Nice decorations, clean and comfortable beds. We stayed here for 2 nights in summer in a 6-bed dorm which was perfect for our group. Rooftop bar was pretty nice, amazing view, and breakfast was great! Reasonable price. Super friendly staffs. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Will definitely come back again next time!

If you only look for a room to sleep, this might be it. If you expect hostel experience with clean quality rooms for a low price, this is definitely not it. The upside: clean, everyday room service, the view from the roof top. The downside: Rooms are really tiny, staff is not what I expect from a Hostel (enthusiastic and helpful for the guest) and also with the rooftop bar we had our disappointing experience. How can you offer drinks and charge the client more than on the menu or anywhere is written and explain it with “we raised the prices few days ago”? My expectation is to be informed what a drink will cost, not to get a surprisingly 18% higher bill.

Amazing staff, nice and clean rooms and super cool rooftop. Great breakfast. The real “hostel life” where you can meet people from everywhere and enjoy while drinking something at this terrace.

Had a really great experience here. Rooms were nice and everything was as expected. The rooftop area is nice and the free breakfast from 8-12 was an amazing bonus. Some good kebab places right around the corner as well

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the lovely white cat, which I stroked, incidentally the best host in the place. I checked in with Mr Seyf, yes the handsome chap with the long hair. Immediately I received a free upgrade plus a towel and was escorted to my room by him. He was very polite and welcoming with a big smile. I have to say at this point without Mr. Seyf, I refer to him as 'the sword' or 'tea man' this place will be no where. Mr Seyf deserves to be running this place and promoted to the highest position. He just made me happy looking at him, he seems to be the heart of this place with a very peaceful and positive demeaner. Other members of staff were good but not smiling as much and not easy to approach. I would suggest they smile more :) During my stay I noticed after a few days eggs were available but we had to ask for an egg during breakfast until the operations manager from Madrid in Spain came in to replace the chef and started cooking. He was very approachable and provided a good service. He did undercook the eggs first day which he acknowledged the second day and cooked eggs and left for everyone to take rather than asking so that was a good move. The breakfast overall is very good everyday except for one day where the cake ran out at 10am which was disappointing as i really liked the cake with chocolate. The new chef from Madrid was clear and said its finished so that was cool. The facilities in the room including blankets and pillows, private shower, toilet and 2 sinks were clean and the cleaners did a very good job in my shared room of 4. Upstairs there is a roof top terrace which boasts lovely views of Istanbul during the day and night. A Finnish chap became my friend during our stay together in the same room. He also rated the place highly. There was a Canadian lady who works in tourism mentioned lots of staff have been fired and they could be running the hostel better as their only renting it. On the contrary my experience was great and the staff members and cleaners I met were and are doing a great job. Their is sim cards available from reception for tourists and a shop directly opposite for food and drink. There is many shops and restaurants nearby and very close to city as in walking distance. The location is perfect for everything you need. A German lady was trying to check in at night and thought i was a staff member but i told her i will try and find staff for her as the staff member was smoking outside at night but she got checked in. Its a very relaxed place and everyone is down to earth and always happy to help should you have any queries or questions. As my first hostel experience I would say this place is very good value for money! Big shout out to Turkey, Jordan, Ecuador, Canada, Spain and Finland :)

Absolutely fantastic! Best 'hostel' experience in my 10+ years of travel. CLEAN: they keep all the rooms, common spaces & even corners of the rooms & hallways clean. The bedding is all white and free from stains. There is a smoking area on the 6th floor and oh-so-thankfully, the smell stays outside. Showers & toilets are kept clean throughout the day and with toilet-tissue well-stocked. FRIENDLY: all the staff were always friendly at all times of the day & night. They're happy to answer any questions about anything and will give you good recommendations on whatever you're looking for (unlike some places that make recommendations based on a profit-driven partnership). LOCATION: Easy to find and a short walk to the train, ferry and bus stops as well as various tourist attractions, shopping area & bars & restaurants. BREAKFAST & BAR: Breakfast is served until 12pm so no worries if you sleep late. You can still enjoy various breads, fruits & veggies, cheese, yogurt, cereals, tea & coffee. Eggs are also available upon request. The bar is open at night so you can enjoy a drink whilst chatting with other folks, or not just stare off into space and no one will bother you. OTHER: There are lockers & shelves for storing your luggage incase you have some time between checkout and your next thing. All the other guests were chill & respectful, no shady/creepy folks around. Suggestions: 1) Donation box for charity - I noticed several guests unsure of what to do with winter clothing they no longer needed. If there were a way to pass said itemson to the less fortunate that'd be wonderful. 2) Food labels - I met some guests confused and reluctant to try some dishes as they didn't know what it was or mistook it for something else.

Very nice hostel and central. The working staff is also very good, especially the breakfast team Özkan, Sevda, Ulaş showed us a smiling face every morning and always helped us. You should definitely get to know them. All three are very good people. Thank you for everything. I will come here again when I come back.

This is a good, pleasant and clean hostel located in a good point of city. The only thing bothered me was first the difference between the price written in websites and the price declared by admission. ( the real price for one bed in 6 beds room is not more than 190. Do proper bargain) The second was that one of the admission man told me that all mosques are open around and when i left the hostel i found no opened mosque. Anyway, it was totally good with great breakfast

Amazing hostel. Very clean and well organised. The staff were great. Especially Ozgun. He really made us all feel welcome and looked after us. He interacts with all guests and they enjoy his company. The rooftop bar needs to be a little bit cheaper. Cocktails are cheap but 70 for a beer is expensive. Need blinds up there in the summer too as it’s too hot up until 8pm.

I was meant to stay here a lot shorter of a time that I ended up being here. It was easy to make friends at this Hostel, especially at the breakfast table or at night in the rooftop bar. It was clean, comfortable, with awesome AC, and friendly staff. I had a six bed dorm, with our private bathroom and shared it with only two other people. A lot of the other dorms have the showers and washrooms outside of the dorm, I didn’t like this and switched to #29, where it’s inside the dorm.

I stayed here for 1 night, the neighbourhood is quite and clean, really close to everything, 5 min from Taksim. Very nice and helpful personnel — Sevda, Ece and Elvan, thank you very much 💛🤗 They have this gorgeous big panoramic view terrace and a bar, I had a couple of cocktails, and I swear it was perfect, their barmen knows his job really well, prices are good, atmosphere is chill and no pressure, but everyone is open to hang out, it’s really important for this kind of places I think 👍 We even had a small party there with other guests, it was fun, and bbq from their chef was delicious. Everything is in a pretty good condition, everything is working and looks fine and clean. There was sort of smell in the toilet, not really disturbing, but don’t expect everything brand-new, it’s still very old historical building. A view from my room was 😍 Breakfast is quite simple (hope they will add something not sweet except of boiled eggs), but it was okay, everything is fresh and good quality, they had pretty much everything, maybe just not for my taste. And also there are not a lot of places in Istanbul with a good coffee, I enjoyed my cup on the rooftop with a cigarette in the morning, I recommend you to visit at least their roof, and it’s open for not-guests too, you can come and visit with friends and chill together. Totally recommend this hostel!

Easily, the best hostel I’ve ever stayed! And I’ve been travelling and staying at the hostels in my summer vocations for a very long time. Seriosly, 5 star is not even enough. The shared rooms, roof cafe(with a great view), lobby, bathrooms, showers, beds, sheets.. everything you'll need is so clean. They do care a lot about cleaning. And the staff is just great. Excellent communication and service. Really solid guys! I’m so glad I've discovered and stayed at this place. Thanks a lot, my friends!

I stayed here for a week at the start of February. Overall its a solid hostel with a hotel-type vibe. The rooms are quite nice, beds comfy and there is a privacy curtain on each bed. There are shelves next to the bed and some charging plugs and a blueish-led lamp by the bed. The bed itself was clean and room seemed to be pretty well taken care of. Weirdest thing in the room is the bathroom department (which is inside the room in some room types), which only has a fogged glassdoor for the toilet and a similar fogged glassdoor for the shower, otherwise there is no separate door for the bathroom, its an open space to the room which can be a bit disturbing at times. Luckily there are some extra toilets outside the room by the corridor. Wifi was not very good in the second floor. The AC unit in failed to provide enough heat for our room and we conducted the front desk with this matter and they did try to fix it. After another cold night in the room we decided to shutdown the whole unit as it was quite chilly. The location is good, short walking distance away from SAW airport bus, Taksim square, public transportation connections and a few grocery stores. There is no communal kitchen in this hostel. No common events in the hostel either. Breakfast was ok, usually the same stuff each day with little variations. No restaurant services in the hostel, there are some restaurants in the immediate vicinity however. Biggest area of improvement for me was the lack of a good social space, there is an open area in the top floor, where you get the breakfast served at. This space is available during the evenings as well, but usually the level of music makes it hard to strike a good conversation with people. I would suggest to divide this space a bit, half of the space for people to chat and play games etc and half of the space for starting the night with few drinks and music. The current common space at the top floor closes quite early, which has its pros and cons. Overall its a nice hostel with a good bang for the buck, but lacks a bit in terms atmosphere and socializing.

The location is quite central and you are able to walk to many restaurants and shopping. The staff is really great, welcome and helpful, and accommodating. It was an amazing experience in all aspects you could image . Not just location, the surroundings but in particular the team is very special and takes care of everything and everybody. Special thanks to Ozkan Elshan, Saif, Mert, Sevda and for other people who are engaged in making this property more ambience and welcoming!

perfect hostel to stay when in istanbul, cheap prices for perfect location near Taksim, and the richest breakfast included, saved until 12:00 on the rooftop terrace which had the best view. staff was so nice and always able to help with any questions and they were there 24/7. only thing was the 6-bed dorms being a bit small and tight, but the beds had curtains, a light, plugs and very comfortable mattresses and sheets. bathrooms and all the facilities were also always clean and the WiFi worked perfectly! nice atmosphere in general and daily activities starting from the rooftop bar, there’s even a whatsapp group for news and info. i can only recommend this place

Wabi Sabi is an excellent hostel with kind staff (front desk and kitchen staff), good amenities, a solid free Turkish breakfast, a nice rooftop area, and a clean and upscale feel (for a hostel). One of the more comfortable and easy hostels I have ever stayed in. Only thought is if the hostel were completely booked (it was a nice balance, not full or empty for my long stay), it might feel a bit crowded.

We stayed in a private room at Bunk hostel for three nights. Overall, the hostel is nice - the building is pretty and the rooms provide everything needed. Breakfast was very good for a hostel. The main thing I think they can improve on is providing the services that make a hostel a hostel. When we asked for advice at the front desk, the information given was very short, and on one occassion even incorrect. There are no tours offered, no pub crawls and no social activities. The most disappointing thing was that the bar hosted private events on both nights of the weekend, meaning there was nowhere for us to hang out with other people. The location is good enough - not the most central, but easy enough access to everything. Overall, I felt this was a very good budget hotel, but not so good as a hostel.

Great and fun hostel. It was my very first hostel experience so I was a bit nervous, hence I didn't know what to expect. But rest assured it was immaculate and well organized. The staff was great, especially the very attentive reception guy (I forgot his name, with the long hair) to Ozkan, the F&B (breakfast) guy who made sure we enjoyed our daily breakfast moment on the rooftop. He really made us all feel welcome and looked after us. He interacts with all guests and they enjoy his company. He deserves a promotion! :-) Overall, such an excellent experience. I didn't think I would last a day, but I really enjoyed every single moment of my stay and met nice new people from all over the world. Would definitely recommend this hostel!!

A really nice place to start your trip in Istanbul. Everyone from the reception is super cool and helpful if you have a question or some problems. Really clean toilet and good hot showers. Little traditional turkish breakfast buffet with coffee, tea, bread, olives and cheese....also some sweet stuff if you like. Nice rooftop with a bar and separate smoking area. Dorm rooms have a balcony👌

This hostel was more like a hotel that a hostel. You cannot criticise the cleanliness of this hostel at all. Impeccable cleanliness. They even have air fresheners everywhere. The private room felt like a hotel room, with a giant shower head. I was really impressed with the private room. However, one thing I noticed was that 50% of the staff were very kind and friendly but the other 50% were a bit standoffish and cold. But I guess that it’s because there were so many guests coming in here, there 150 guests from the night before so it’s a very busy and successful hostel. So maybe the staff might be a bit busy and a bit standoffish at times. Another small thing was that the buffet breakfast was a bit lacking in comparison to all the other hostels and hotels I have been to in Turkey.

Great Great Great My wife and I recently stayed 5 nights at this hostel and we had a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This place couldn’t be more underrated! It’s such a clean and cosy hostel, with a cool rooftop that overseas the city which is also a great spot to meet new people. We took a private room which was super clean and cosy we hardly wanted to leave the room and there was a small balcony which was very nice to chill out at. There is free breakfast in the morning with very authentic selections such as simits, yogurt and olives. The best part about the hostel is the staff. We love Safe in particular! He was so kind and genuine and so super awesome! Can’t believe this place is not top hostel of the year, it better be!

Very spacious hostel with a rooftop (bar with a nice view), they have a friendly staff and some activities for guests that are cool too. The rooms are good, all beds have lockers with secret lock, black curtains and power plugs, and still very comfortable. Good place to make friends too. The breakfast is also really good and until late hours. Definitely recommend it for those who are looking for hostels in Istanbul.

Rooms were very nicely furnished and bunks had curtains. The ensuite shower location in our 4 person room was uncomfortable - the shower is located immediately beside where your pillow is. The hostel has a very nice rooftop social lounge - which was shamefully under utilized. The hostel did not staff the bar and did not host any events. The roof top social lounge was nearly empty at all times. Maybe the hostel can host a free drink or something in the evenings to get people to all go to the lounge? Maybe host some events? Buy some board games! Anything. Hostel location was ok. Bit of a walk from the hustle and bustle of Taksim square.

Great hostel, it's still very new and in good condition, the rooms have lockers, curtains and electric outlets. They have a free breakfast they Serve until quite late. The common area has a bar. Unfortunately that's also the only common area and the lights there are always moody, so not the best conditions if you want to read or work

The biggest and moat high tech hostel that I stayed at during my visit to Turkey, this hostel is almost the size of a hotel with competent staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The room's bathrooms were also clean, though I wasn't a big fan of the open design for the sinks area (the shower and toilet are in private cubicles). Their electronic lockers were great, avoiding the hassle of renting locks and keys. I enjoyed visiting their rooftop restaurant and social area, though it gets very noisy at night as it turns into a party till 12am so you should keep in mind the vibe you're looking for.

For the young adults and solo travelers, this is perfect! High tech and recently refurbished. I wouldn’t recommend though for the older generation like me. But I chose it for its location and we wanted to save to splurge for a grander cave hotel at Cappadocia! They had ample breakfast buffet at the rooftop . I loved their bread , especially the bagel-like sesame seeds topped ones! And the view of the European side of Istanbul was great ! Sunrise and sunsets, so relaxing! But they could do with a little more care with the beddings, sofas and vacuuming . Our sheets looked crumpled and used at first but it wasn’t because I smelled them and passed a roller cleaner which came out clean. The sofas, well …

Cons: People having loud parties in the dorm rooms late at night and smoking in the rooms. Super thin walls that didn’t keep any noise out. Gap on top of walls that allowed smoke to come into my room and made it smell like a filthy night club. Staff were asked twice to do something about it and didn’t. When it eventually became unbearable well after midnight, I had to ask to be moved to another room. Pros: Cleaners do a good job. Good location. Comfortable, solid beds. Nice design. Good sized lockers.

Great hostel! I almost spent a month here and enjoyed every bit of it! Especially Ozan, the barkeeper was the absolute best! He went out of his way to always make me feel at home and comfortable. We stayed at Bunk Hostel in Istanbul for several nights in July and the place was incredibly clean and the staff so kind and helpful. A special thank you to “Mike” for helping us during a later night check-in and helping two hungry girls find some food! Mike was also extremely helpful in reserving us a room with all girls, where we felt safe and comfortable. What an incredibly hard-working and thoughtful person. It’s a 7 minute walk from the taksim airport shuttle stop and a yummy breakfast with views is included. Thanks, Bunk!

One of the best hostels in the area! The hostel is clean, the bunks equipped with a curtain, light and shelving, which gives the place extra comfort points! The roof top bar is a cozy and social atmosphere where they frequently host events and hilarious stand up comedy shows. AMAZING hostel close to Taksim. Very clean and cozy rooms and good amenities, although the washing room is a coveted place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a decidedly Turkish flair. Just keep in mind that they're only human and definitely not your servants or caregivers. There's a cool rooftop bar (that closes a bit too early due to regulations) with easy drinks and good prices. (Pub crawls are always a must at hostels!!) There's small markets close by where you can buy beer and snacks with many shopping opportunities not far away and great food everywhere.

10/10 for the social aspect. As many others, I was traveling alone and the place has such a friendly and laid back vibe. Not in the best location for the really touristy stuff but it’s a lovely place. The staff are super friendly and the dorms are quite private and well kept. Unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity to frequent the rooftop bar but it was still a perfect view for breakfast in the morning!

Beautiful old building, good use of space in the room and we had a little balcony. The roof top space is lovely and they had a good breakfast with views across the city. They were also really helpful when my boyfriend locked all our valuables in the safe and forgot the combination!

Perfect location! Smart choice for both long & short term Istanbul visits. You can also enjoy the terrace bar, meet and socialize with new people.

Excellent price especially with breakfast. The staff are great. They're always helpful and cheerful. I even had the guy who runs comedy on Saturday nights talk to my taxi driver on the phone at 4 am when I was leaving for my flight. He wasn't even working.

I had an amazing time at the hostel. Very clean and the staff ( Ali, Ozkan, Sevdaa, Ulas, Gamze) were all amazing and super helpful. The breakfast buffet ends at 12 so that was perfect for me that always woke up later. I would definitely be back and I recommend 100%

This hostel is like a 5 star hotel yet the most reasonable one. Fantastic free breakfast. Great beds.. Very nice and clean washrooms. The best part is you will meet most of the people who quit where they were staying to come and stay here.. In my 6 days, I met at least 6-7 people like that. I will highly recommend this place and no other hostel near Taksim square. The bus stop is 5 mins, food is round the corner.. Everything is close by. And not too forget amazing people who come and stay here. Made lots of friends

I stayed four nights in a 6-bedroom, and I'm here to say that this is the best place to live. Very clean bathrooms and toilets, beautiful and clean rooms, comfortable beds, a delicious free breakfast for everyone living in that hostel (whether you live in a 6-bedroom, 4-bedroom or single bedroom) and a calm and relaxing environment. Safety is good. Don't be worried about that. I was worried before going to this hostel, but that's okay. They have good lockers. Clerks are good, actually not so friendly! But they're okay and polite. Be honest, I think I annoyed the reception man a little! But he cooperated with me about the problem. I should appreciate him from this place. If I want to travel to Istanbul once again, undoubtedly I'll choose this excellent hostel. Don't hesitate! You can't find better than this hostel. If you can, you can introduce me!
