This is one of my favorite mosques in Istanbul. It's stunning, and there's such a peace walking in. Its on a busy street, but as soon as you climb the steps, you've escaped the noise and can't help but be in awe of the beauty of the mosque.

There is one of the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul. If you want to enter, please follow the rules and respect. Otherwise, the corresponding authorities will ask you to leave. During the night it looks spectacular, due to the lighting system.

Built in 1759–63, this mosque complex is the city’s best example of the Baroque style, of which its architect, Mehmet Tahir Ağa, was the greatest exponent. A variety of gaudy, coloured marble covers all of its surfaces. Underneath the body of the mosque is a great hall, supported on eight piers with a fountain in the middle, used as a market and packed with Eastern Europeans and Central Asians haggling over clothing. The nearby Büyük Taş Hanı, or Big Stone Han, probably part of the mosque’s original complex, now houses shops and a restaurant. To get to it, turn left outside the mosque into Fethi Bey Caddesi, and take the second left into Çukur Çeşme Sokağı. The main courtyard of the han is at the end of a long passage off this lane

Lovely mosque inside and out. Beautiful decor and colours and patterns. I particularly like the stripy coloured brickwork of these buildings. The tomb of Selim III and Mustafa III is impressive too and has two delightful Ottoman birdhouses on the outside.

Nothing special here. Just a great peaceful respite from the chaos of the city. Shoes off, come in, sit on the carpet, and rest. Admire the beauty of the place. Look up. In the city, walking around, you simply cannot look up else you'll trip. A minefield of hazards out there. Here you can look up, eyes closed, breath and relax. It's a great thing. Of course, after that, do go back to work. This old tired city needs you, it is falling apart, slowly.

The mosque, which was started to be built in the decadent years of Ottoman architecture. In the book "hadikat-ül-cevâmî" about Istanbul mosques: "their salaries are paid from his own foundation. There are soup kitchens (charities), tombs, public fountains and fountains, as well as cells for imams and muezzins, around which madrasas, soup and bread are assigned to lodges. It was built on a large land obtained by giving various donations to its owners. The architect is Mehmet Tahir Ağa. The mosque and complex, the foundation of which was laid on Thursday, April 10, 1760, was completed in 3 years, 10 months and 29 days and opened for worship on Friday, March 9, 1764. At the opening ceremony, the third khan, the sultan, was personally found, the victims were slaughtered and distributed to the poor. According to a rumor, the left one of the two minarets of this mosque, which was built on a building or cellar from the Byzantine period, was added 6 years after the completion of the mosque's construction.

A special mosque in the center of the city, easily accessible by tram or on foot. The four star rating has to do with the closed türbe of Sultan Mustafa III with no further signing even though it was Friday (the sign warned about Mondays) and the bazaar and its products in a holy place like that.

Praise be to GOD ALLAH, who has enabled us to perform many prayers in the Great Laleli Camii. The Camii location is wonderful. Everyone who comes to Istanbul should visit it and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere at the wonderful place in European side of Istanbul .
