I recently had the pleasure of visiting this delightful café, and I was blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality and attentiveness added an extra touch of warmth to my visit. The food at Old Balat Cafe was simply outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, prepared with care and attention to detail. From traditional Turkish delicacies to international favorites, they offered a diverse menu that catered to all palates. I couldn't help but savor every bite! The café itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, creating a perfect setting to relax and unwind. Whether I was enjoying a cup of aromatic Turkish tea or indulging in a scrumptious dessert, the ambiance and vibes were just perfect. I must say, Old Balat Cafe has truly set the bar high with their exceptional service, delectable food, and charming ambiance. They exceeded my expectations in every way, and I can confidently say that they are the best. Cute place. Nice fresh pancakes with chicken and spinach and clean bathrooms. We loved the clay oven dish and also the aubergine was our favorite!

Super friendly staff, place is well decorated and maintained. Food was great and service was awesome. Definitely a go to.

Just had a baklava and tea as a refreshment. Very friendly waiters and owner. They prepare gözleme right in front of you. Apple tea is delicious, however I don't recommend baklava as it was three small peaces of cubes for 70 liras.

Wow! Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Turkey! it’s a hidden gem! We wanted to try the famous Turkish gozleme and it did not disappoint! The owners/workers were amazing best customer service I’ve had in Turkey hands down ! Will definitely recommend to anyone that’s coming to Balat in Turkey! They really treat you like family! All smiles and good vibes all around

The staff were super friendly specially with our hyper kids. The food is superbly tasty more like home foos. The prices are acceptable noting that its a touristic place. The place was airy and clean. The seats were comfortable. Highly recommend this place.

Nice cozy cafe in Balat area. The food is nice; tasty adana kebab dan cheese gozleme is delicious. We tried the yaprak sarma, although never had this kind of taste before but still a good experience. ^^ The staffs are helpful and always smiling. The good preparation took around 10-15mins.

Not only turkish specific, but you can find also burgers, pasta.. Polite personal, even if they try to recommend a better food option than your order. Had a mousaka and chicken at oven, served very hot, but they were tasty. Desert and tea as bonus. A good place to eat in Fener. A minus that you can not pay with card, and toilet a bit dirty.

We had breakfast here and it was very tasty. What I liked most was their menemen. Also, they are very hospitable and the ambiance is really pleasant, with traditional decor pieces and the opportunity to see your food getting ready.

The food was very yum. This was the first manti we had in turkey and it was delicious and very flavorful. The restaurant is located in a really nice street amazing for walking. We also got some cheese and spinach filled wraps and they quite good.

Fantastic food. Our mixed grill was enough for 3 (we are only 2). Baklava and tea on the house at the end. Super cute area. Don’t miss the city of Balat or this restaurant if you visit Istanbul

I love this place! I went here my first night in Fatih and it was absolutely delicious. I recommend to anyone who walks by because the food is top notch and their service is amazing! Such nice people working here. The apple tea is also really good!

Food was too bland and dry for me. Although I ordered the basic item. They didn’t serve any tomatoes made turkish sauce with the food or anything to make it bit juicy. Ratings are high but I had below average food.

Thanks very much for the helpful service and the perfect food! We tried Cappadocia Pottery Kebab for the first time in our life but the show and the food were amazing! This is not a 'touristy' place. I can recommend stopping here for a great lunch or dinner. Special thanks to our food server who was very nice and showed us the pottery kebab show perfectly. See you again soon!

Delicious food! Everything was fresh and portions were great. Lovely staff and fair prices for the touristy Balat area. Definitely recommend going here, absolutely worth it. Really worth seeing the Balat area too while exploring Istanbul!

We had such a lovely dinner here! We can really recommend their house specialty with the stew in the clay pot (testi). The serving itself as well as the taste are spectacular:) the waiters were also so kind. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Nice atmosphere. We had our dinner there. Love the stuffed wine leaves. Although some of the order is missed, the friendly waiter apologised and gave us free chai to enjoy!

Great lunch and very pleasant time in this Café. Kofte in clay pot and lamb casserole were delicious and our host was very nice and friendly, even gave us baklava and tee on the house :)

Perfect place to get your turkish food fix in a very touristy place. the staff were super friendly and service was quick! We went on Eid, testing our luck and was so happy it was open. We got spinach pancakes to share, wrapped wine leaves (sarma) and one portion of testi kebab which stole the entire show!!! It WAS SO GOOD! Would give it 6 stars if I could! Everything was fresh and def recommend to have a meal here

Wonderful place that's reasonably priced and has an international menu. We tried two clay pot meals and the gözleme pancakes and were not disappointed, they even made a small show for us which we liked very much and captured on pictures and video!

This is my favourite place in Balat. The restaurant is very cozy and it makes you feel like home. The service is fast and friendly and their meals are wonderful. 100/100. Worth to mention, they gave us tea and Baklava for free!

Loved the warm and friendly service here. Had the Gozleme with Cheddar and it was super good. Also had the Tavuk Kebabsi - also good withal the accompaniment of the Angolian culture song and dance! All in a fun and enjoyable meal!

We went to the New Balant Restaurant today and were very satisfied. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our food tasted delicious and was well presented. Everything was great and we can only recommend the restaurant.

Excellent traditional Turkish cuisine, very friendly staff. Old lady in front of the restaurant preparing gözleme for you, makes it a special experience. High recommendations!
