Amazingly beautiful mosque. I think this is the most lavishly decorated mosque in Turkey maybe.

Beautiful masjid with lot of colorful design, the carpet is clean and high quality, the architecture is an unique artwork. The definition of this mosque according to Wikipedia is: The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque (Turkish: Yıldız Hamidiye Camii), also called the Yıldız Mosque (Turkish: Yıldız Camii), is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in Yıldız neighbourhood of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul, Turkey, on the way to Yıldız Palace. The mosque was commissioned by the Ottoman sultan Abdul Hamid II, and constructed between 1884 and 1886. The mosque was built on a rectangular plan and has one minaret. The architecture of the mosque is a combination of Neo-Gothic style and classical Ottoman motifs. A bronze colonnade erected by Abdul Hamid II in Marjeh Square of Damascus, Syria bears a replica statue of the Yıldız Mosque on top.

Very nice 19th mosque for the imperial Palace. At this stage one of the only parts of Yildiz Palace that you will be able to get into -the palace is either being restored or, according to some, now being used for state functions.

The Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque, located on Barbaros Bulvari, was commissioned by Sultan Abdülhamit II and built between the years 1884-1886; the mosque’s architect was Sarkis Baylan. It was used for the sultan’s Friday addresses, and was the site of an assassination attempt on Abdülhamid II’s life in 1905. The two-storied mosque is built on a rectangular plan, with one central dome, and constructed out of cut stone. The mosque has a single minaret, also built of cut stone, and a marble mihrab. Inside the mosque’s courtyard there is housing for the mosque’s functionaries, facilities for ritual ablution, men’s and women’s toilets, a coffin rest and a clock tower built in 1890.

Really one of a kind, never seen a mosque like this. The architecture of the mosque is a combination of Neo-Gothic style and classical ottoman motives.

Yıldız Hamidiye Camii is a historical mosque located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built between 1884 and 1886 during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II, and was designed by the Ottoman court architect Raimondo D'Aronco in a combination of Ottoman and European architectural styles. The mosque is named after the Yıldız Palace, which was the main residence of the sultan during his reign. The mosque features a large dome and two minarets, and its interior is decorated with intricate tilework, calligraphy, and stained glass windows. The mosque also contains a marble mihrab (a niche indicating the direction of Mecca), a minbar (pulpit), and a large chandelier. Today, the Yıldız Hamidiye Camii continues to serve as an active place of worship for Muslims in Istanbul, and it is also a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can admire the beautiful architecture and decoration of the mosque, and also learn more about the rich history and culture of Istanbul and the Ottoman Empire.

Make time to visit this mosque. It’s not on any main thoroughfares but easy to find. When we visited, it was quiet, intimate, and one of the most beautiful, unique mosques we’ve seen in Istanbul!

we got a "private tour" from a very nice older man working there. He explained us everything inside - he didn't speak much English but still tried his best. It's up on a hill so it's quiet & outside of the Skopje centre.
