The restaurant is truly wonderful due to its interior, the location, the atmosphere, and the great collection of original photographs by Ara Güler. I visited it every single day during my stay in Istanbul and must say that the food has been mostly incredible. However, one has to know what to order; plus, the quality of the dishes may vary depending on the kitchen staff, as on some days the same dish was less good compared to other days. The service is ok, some waiters are very friendly, others are rather moody. The level of English is acceptable, which is more than you can expect in Istanbul or Turkey in general. One of the waitresses, Derya, was especially kind, professional, and helpful, and has made my dining experience exceptionally enjoyable! A great ‘Thank You’ for that! Their absolute highlights are: Manti, Chicken Confit, Balkan Meatballs, Çilbir, Fresh Fruit Lemonade, Ice Latte, and the pastes served with bread. Not recommended: Crispy Chicken, Granola, Iced Apple Green Tea, San Sebastian.

Salon Galata is a quaint bistro restaurant at the foot of the Camondo stairs, known to be the most eclectic staircase in the city heading to the Galata Tower in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. The Camondo stairs were supposedly built to facilitate the transport of Camondo’s children to their school and as a shortcut for Camondo to reach Bankalar Caddesi quickly. Service was genuine and kind, the wine list was great, we were fortunate to find our favourite Chamlija wines again. Unfortunately, there is room for improvement with the food to make it a five-star rating. A suggestion would be to upgrade the quality of the meat and sprinkle a little extra love on the desserts would be a great start. There is a beautiful warm dining area on the terrace and a cozy dining area inside. This is a restaurant with great potential based on its location in the bustling neighbourhood of Karakoy, design of the establishment and friendly team.

Fantastic ambience and amazing food. Great place for breakfast or lunch (or brunch, why not?). The toasts are pretty good. The granola too. Nice salad options and great Turkish coffee. The tea is not bad either. Very warm and polite staff!

This is my absolute- favourite place to meet friends and even focus on my own thoughts while enjoying the food and the drinks. Everything is high-quality, tasty, and enjoyable. My new favourite here is tahin soufflé, which can be served sugar-free. The only diabetic- friendly (also keto-friendly) healthy dessert I could find in the entire city. I also enjoy the chit-chats with the staff member.

This place is really nice. The interior, the music (used shazam twice) and the food. I had the meatball as the main course and it was amazing. My partner had the lamb shank. Also, service was great and food came fast. I really like when they give you a recommendation.

Love this place! 😍 We visited the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Both times it was a wonderful experience. The food was so delicious, fresh and beautiful arranged. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was served very quickly. The atmosphere, especially at night is so special and cozy. We had a great time, and will definitely come again. 😊

Only came for a glass of wine, but were treated royally by all staff. The Turkish wines were both excellent, and it appears they have a well-curated list. The place is gorgeous, decorated with interesting art and tons of healthy plants and open to the street, reminding me of a Parisian bistro. Midway through the wine, a waiter dropped off a small bowl of some of the tastiest olives I've ever had. Nice touch. Spotless bathrooms as well. Will return in the future.

Liked everything here. Food is tasty, service is very good, relaxing atmosphere, clean. I tried crispy chicken salad which was the best chicken salad i've ever tried. So i returned here one more time to eat it again. Also sweets and tea were super good. Highly recommend this place. Will return here again if i will ever visit Istanbul one more time.

Great alternative to the usual breakfast fare. We didn't take breakfast in our hotel instead we came here and it's really very high quality, deserves the accolades. The coffee is one of the best we've had in Turkey. Excellent selection of unusual breakfast dishes for a change from cheese pie. Staff so kind and attentive. It's a keeper. 👌

They served the best breakfast on our trip to Istanbul. Friendly helpful staff made everything easy. They have a good selection of options for breakfast and great coffee. The Culbir - eggs and spiced yoghurt - was a real treat and quite different from any breakfast I've had before (in a good way).

One of my favorite place, I’ve been there two times, for diner and breakfast, even though the waiter had mistake in our order, instead of one dish he brought another, but it (lamb) was perfect, great thanks to chefs and everyone, atmosphere, music, interior, plates , all details are unique 👍👍👏👏👏

Great atmosphere. Very relaxing and romantic. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, the food really was just so so, especially considering its price. The mushroom in the pasta was rather sandy!

Great location serving hot food all day. This restaurant is a great choice for breakfast lunch or dinner. Has a fantastic breakfast menu which is what I visited for. There are traditional Turkish menus or other options. The service is excellent and the menu is varied with many different options. Overall I would recommend this location

Very nice atmosphere with special dishes. A turkish traditional dish keşkek with roquefort cheese and artichoke with fava paste were done excellently. Also dessert was very good. A good selection of wines with a good service, strongly recommended

This is the first international cuisine which we tried in Turkey and did not disappoint us. It’s a nice place and the food are superb!

My husband and I stumbled in to grab lunch and wait out rain on the way to Galata Tower. We are so glad we did as this was the best meal whilst in Istanbul. I am vegan, and the falafel/hummus dish is vegan without any modifications - it is well flavored and perfect balance of textures. My husband had house-made pasta with smoked tomatoes. The pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce had smoky flavor and pieces of smoked tomato. He will dream about this dish! We had cappuccinos, with option to sub coconut or almond milk, to round out the meal. In addition to stellar food, the service was excellent- staff even helped us to get a cab later. The ambiance is also fabulous- wood paneling, vintage mirrors, marble lampshades, and French Cafe music rounded out this wonderful experience. Also, very well kept WCs.

A very classy looking place that caters to the western tourist tastes, with a menu full of North American inspired dishes. Food is both visually pleasing as well as tasty, service is good and the staff speak at least some English. Prices are on the high side, but its worth it.

We went there yesterday with a group of 4 people. The waiter showed us a nice table. We actually came in for a drink only but then saw this nice food which was served around us and couldn’t resist. One of the best breakfast I've had when travelling. It's located along the famous Kadikoy banking district opposite the Decamondo tribute hotel. I decided to try the Cilbri dish with grilled cheese and yogurt and poached eggs. The dish came together to well it was perfecto! It wasn't heavy but just melts and glides into your tummy. The vibe is nice and chill and I'd definitely be back for sure. Istanbul you have been more that what I expected. Kudos to the team for the amazing food!

Such a great place! Peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We loved the calm jazz music playing. The food was excellent and so was the wine. We will be back!

The food is delicious and the service is very good. I had falafel and one of the salads, and both dishes were really fresh and excellent quality. Desserts are also amazing. Great relationship between price and quality.

We like this place when we popped in for a coffee. Service and decor were great but then we went back for food the next day... We had 2 salads. Smoked salmon and crispy chicken. Both looked good but were totally lacking flavour and seasoning. A real shame!! They need to address this or maybe we came on the chefs day off??🤷‍♂️

Love Salon Galata & the staff! It was next door to the hotel where I was staying so I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. The place is super cute, the staff is very welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent! I went there several times for breakfast/lunch and dinner -- not once did they disappoint. So glad I got to experience it during my visit to Istanbul.

Best drinks, coctails and food! Quality place. I asked for some wine to celebrite my birthday and I wanted to leave before closing time. Staff didn’t make any problems and brought me a cake. This was really, really nice!

Awful place. I chose it after reading the reviews for this place. And it has nothing from them. Only looks nice from outside and that's all. Cheeseburger is the worst I've ever tried, meat was bitter. Girl-waitress was not attentive at all. 10% for such a service looked like a mocking. Not recommended.

A very good experience

An absolute gem! Breakfast was great, and the burgers are to die for!

First time visited in dec2019, when it was just opened. Now I recognized the same woman, and the menu is now finished. Good Taste of music, good place to just relax, drink a coffee, read/write a book. If home working was allowed anywhere in the world, this would be one of my choices.

Went there a few times and as always, great experience overall. Food is great and the people are very friendly! Highly recommend it.

The place looks chic and lovely, however the food and service were not great. We had breakfast there today and the food was below average. It wasn’t fresh and the cutlery didn’t smell clean.

Delicious food with very fair prices. Restaurant was beautiful inside with great service. Balkan meatballs were fantastic, all pasta is handmade and was also very good. Definitely recommend!

Food was great, but that is a given in Istanbul. What I love about this place is the ambience: the woody interior, old black and white pictures hanging on the wall. They all remind me so much of Orhan Pamuk's Istanbul.

Had a wonderful breakfast at this neighborhood spot in Karakoy. Full of atmosphere with friendly service and an excellent music playlist. My sandwich was delicious and came with a healthy mix of greens.
