My experience with this hostel is very bad 1- Someone stole my mobile phone while I was sleeping. 2- The owner trapped me (to get more money) 3- No lockers (to save your luggage) 4- Security cameras do not work. (no security) 5- Services are bad (rooms shown in pics are not same) 6- Food is not good (Poor quality food is offered) 7- Hostel is not registered with Turkish Government (risk to stay here) This is story of my experience, someone stole my mobile phone while I was sleeping, and this guy is so greedy he begs always the customers to pay one month, I will give you a discount, this is a real trap after that they reduce their services (they change room etc.) if someone says I can't stay give my money back because now your services are very bad. then he says I will not return your money. I spent 15 days here. This person did not return my dues. None of your stuff is safe here. When I first came here he did not give me any locker. he said "The cameras are working, you don't have to worry about your belongings" When my mobile phone was stolen, he said that the cameras were not working and he did not take any action against this theft. Overall, this hostel is not safe for tourists. Be careful to stay here

the showers were dirty and there are no blinds between the beds which is very uncomfortable. I also was trying to book the room online and they refused to give me their wifi password and told me to pay them more in cash. When i told them about the price that is on Hostelworld, they lowered the price but was still more than what says on the app. Do not let yourself be fooled and book it on the app.

All hostel is very dirty. I know its really cheap price, and I dont want five stars comfort, but when I go to bathroom and think do I should take a shower or not? its not good. No toilet paper in WC too. Noises and screams in the night, because somebody is sleeping in my room without permission and payment. When I want to check out and take back deposit for keys, I was waiting half of hour and nobody come to reception. I try call, but nobody answers the phone. I cant wait longer so I lost my deposit. Btw I dont know why I need the keys, since they do not close the door anyway and anyone can enter.

It's a very nice place, helpful stuff, and the owner is a very nice guy. I stayed there for more than a week and get to meet everyone that was staying there. The coolest people you could ever meet. The price of the hostel was really cheap, yet you get free breakfast and free dinner. I'm definitely coming back to this hostel and recommending it to all my friends

Honestly, is not a very good place to stay. But since most of the times I spend the times outside soo it's fine. However the price is relatively very cheap and the breakfast is not bad at all.

The hostel is around 8 minutes walking form Taksim square, but it is in a very local neighborhood. The hostel is in an old and sketchy building and consists of four floors. There are two rooms on each floor, and there are 12 beds in each room. The top floor is a terrace. The staff often cleans up the rooms. The bathroom and shower need renovation. Overall, the living condition of the hostel is not very ideal, and using a locker costs 20 TL.. However, I would still recommend the hostel to backpackers who are on tight budget to stay there short term because it only costs around 8 dollars per night and offers free breakfast. You can also pay 25 TL to get dinner from the hostel. The receptionist lady who is from Uzbekistan was nice. In addition, there were a lot of Moroccans, Algerians and central Asians. People from those countries may find their communities at the hostel.

If you have no money, borrow and avoid this place 🤦🏻‍♂️ On a serious note, facilities are very poor. Toilet and shower in post apocalyptic shape, people here are also quite shady. Yes, priced ridiculously cheap, but as my friend said, it’s better to sleep in the train station on the bench ))) Had in fact nice chats with some guests here. Location is great, but inside it is not kept in clean shape. WiFi is ok. They accept cards but try not to. Cooking facilities are awful. I was afraid I could catch infection or smth here. Try this place and maintain faith in humanity.

Not a place for backpackers, especially women. Hostel felt unsafe with no security or locks to building or rooms. Other guests were shocked that the women I was travelling with were allowed to stay as there were known ‘sex predators’ staying on that floor. Sheets had stains on and toilet/showers were dirty. Only recommend for a very short stay as a guy due to it’s very cheap price

The worst hostel I've ever stayed in my entire life. The pictures they show are not real. You arrive and even though you booked through Booking, they want to charge you more. The bathroom is completely dirty. They don't provide toilet paper. And they kick you out of the hostel at 9 in the morning.

The staff were really nice but I can’t look past the fact the place looked like a crack den. It was just a very strange, dirty environment. Like I said, the staff were lovely but they need to work on that building. It was a mess!

I feel like I was at home it has very good environment it has lockers for personal belongings and Abdullah the owner I feel for him like he is my brother he is very good person. He always maintain the cleaning and lockers even he cares for our shoes I like the food and internet is also available. We also use terrace for BBQ Abdullah also join us as a good friend and a brother . CCTV is also available . I will visit again insha'Allah.

Oh yes ! I loved it ! Authentic experience with people from many countries! The location is superb and for that price the value for money was great! They cook local food every day, breakfast and dinner - i enjoyed it. the lady at the reception was very friendly and good heart! the view from the terrace is also very nice! wifi was ok, I could upload the photos I was taking from the whole day, but not fullHD and 4k videos. reception was also crowded sometimes. The highlight was Osman - the hostel offers free yoga every night for 1 hour, with Osman!! I tried for the first time in my life and then I didn't miss a session.. Thank you guys for everything.. I will remember Istanbul!! 🫶

when I tired arrived by bike, I thought, where am I going to end up? But it soon became familiar. Everyone is helpful and most of all it is very pleasant. I was there for 4 nights and had a great time. The nights were as quiet as a mouse. I put it on my favorites list. Thanks for all the hospitality.

My friend from Switzerland came and we stayed for 5 days. We were very satisfied as the hostel is very well organized with comfortable rooms, security, common areas and terrace. Their business follow-up and solution-oriented understanding are quite impressive. It was very advantageous to have breakfast and dinner included.

This isn't a hostel, more like a guest house - in terms of the environment. The owner and staff are really nice and friendly people -- do their best in the limited resources. Clean bedsheets. BUT it is really cramped, very limited space to walk. Bathrooms were bare minimum, below average. In short, it is a cheap place to sleep, and I would STRONGLY AVOID if you can afford better...

Pretty descent place with nice location and walkable from Taksim. Price is quite competitive and bed linen was clean. You can store 1 bag as lockers are in every room. Staff is friendly and try to help you. Only downsides were people smoking in building (most of people who stay here are young) and it is hard to find a bit. Look at your left before very steep slope after you cross hospital on your right.

This place is substandard experience for me.You have to be checked in this place at your own risk. The owner of have a special kind of quality like Chinese people has! It was an excellent experience starting from the welcome drinks ,dinner & the Hospitality of the staff.It was my first experience staying abroad in a hostel at Nostalji I felt like to be at Home.The place has secure environment for all 24hours service,small shop inside where all things of need are available. The location is a few minutes walk from the Taksim Square where all food ,fruit & other businesses are open till good time. I would highly recommend this place to stay in Istanbul !

Pros: helpful friendly staff and atmosphere, nice breakfast, nice view from terrace. Decent lockers in our room. Cons: A little disorganised with people sleeping in the wrong beds, missing blankets etc. A bit noisy most nights. A little cramped. Bathrooms not great in terms of building standards. Beds ok but mattresses covered in plastic. Need more chairs on the roof as sometimes nowhere to sit to eat breakfast. Bit of an uphill walk to taksim square and no elevator, so wouldn’t advise if you have suitcases. But all in all good value for the price and ok if you have earbuds. Many thanks

Nosalji could be a very good hostel. It is close to Taxim Square and the Metro to anywhere in Istanbul, although the very steep hill did tax my strength. The staff are hard-working and friendly, even though their English is basic. However it is let down by the depressing grey paint that seems to be everywhere and the dilapidated conditions of the bathroom facilities. In one toilet/shower cubicle I had to sit on the toilet while I showered and it was impossible to keep my towel dry. The dormitory rooms are certainly a good size but, so many pairs of bunk-beds are crammed in that their is barely room for our luggage. Because of the dilapidated state of all the floors, and the grey paint, the hostel feels grubby in spite ofr the hard work of the cleaning staff. Finally, breakfast. Nostalji Breakfast will not be a happy memory. It is very basic, no honey, no butter and because there is no butter, no knife either. I spread the cheese triangle and the marmalade with a fork. 3 half slices pf tomato, 3 slices of cucumber, 2 slices of bright pink "salami" and two hunks of bread. That is it. You will see signs for the Nostalji Cafe. This is a take-away menu for which you have to telephone! A barbecue, 3 times a week is advertised but never happened in the 13 days I spent there. I will thank the staff for doing their best in a very depressing building.

I stayed 2 nights there. I can say that it's very nice hostel, very tidy. Two guys working there Erol and Nazli are very helpful, it was pleasure meeting them. Totally recommend this hostel.

Well, I ve stayed here for a week and gonna extend for another week. When I first came here, I was a little bit badly surprised about the toilets hygiene and the people living here. I found many russians and many arabs. Later, I became very pleased and socialized with all the people. We became like a family. The service is good, the cleaning is ok... Osman, Abdullah and Nazli are just amazing. They are nice, they are here to help at any time. They can also help you with the residence permit. The breakfast and the dinner are included. That's amazing anyway. For breakfast, a piece of tomato, cucumber, some turkish cheese, tea, bread, olives. For dinner, pasta or rice.., yogurt... Excellent for budget trips. I didn't see many girls here...

I Met some friends here from various countries. The best one from this hostel is its strategic position near taksim square, the breakfast is good enough to have before going to visit interesting places in istanbul. One thing that makes me curious is about deposit. I paid 200 liras as a deposit and I took the photo when I paid. However, the paper that informs deposit is dfferent from the previous one they showed. I dont know the reason. They said the deposit is 180 liras and in fact, I paid 200. Overall this hostel is good.

Location is good but nothing in there is good. No one will give you dinner or breakfast however it was mentioned in the package. And receptionist lady is rudest ever. No sense of hospitality but then its the cheapest place to stay near taksim, so do your maths and decide accordingly.

Only the price is fine! Stairs, bed, blankets, bathroom are too dirty! You can not even imagine how the rest room was bad! The room didn’t have suitable heater it was too cold there! Too many people in an old building ! I reserved there for 10 days but after spending one night I ran away and they kindly didn’t pay back my money 🤨!
