    404. USKUDAR MIHRIMAH SULTAN SOCIAL COMPLEX This complex finished at the same time with Sehzade Mosque * by Mimar Sinan was commissioned by Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent, according to Arabic in- scription on the main door of the mosque. The complex con- sisted of mosques, madrasas, mausoleums, primary school, inn, hospices and tabhane. But only some of them have survived until present day. Like all structures built by Sinan for the sultan and viziers, this mosque in Üsküdar pierhead is a new test in continuous space researches. Muezzin gallery is on the entrance door. This mosque is one of the most pure geometric established buildings of Sinan in terms of external configuration of prayer space. Marble altar with muqarnas and marble pulpit bear the classic period features. The most effective element of the mosque is the mansion with second row wide porches surrounding the place of classical narthex and the fountain towards the sea. The plan of this marble fountain under a pavilion extending into the sea is a twenty cornered polygon. There are geometric patterns and due to its location it is one of Is- tanbul's most beautiful places for ablution. Asymmetric entrance and stairs of outer courtyard are items that increase beauty of this structure today. To build 16 celled madrasa a bit more to the north-facing so that the entry would be outer portico of the mosque instead of being parallel with the mosque raises the suspi- cion that the settlement pattern on the site plan follows the coast line. Classrooms and the courtyard portico in front of the room either side of it turn in front of the wall of the yard on the mosque side. In many madrasas of Sinan, a side yard-free madrassa has been arranged. On qibla side of the mosque, leaving away from it by a little way the Elementary School consists of an open domed iwan and closed domed classroom. The graveyard of the complex is on the qibla side of the mosque. Here there are valuable tombstones and coffins remaining from the classic period.

It's a very historic Mosque 🕌 You may find almost all the mosques in İstanbul with the same architecture and pattern, however, this Mosque is unique as the most famous architect Mimar Sinan built it himself. Üsküdar Ferry Station is just nearby and if you take a walk of 20 minutes, you can reach Salacak Sahil which is a beautiful place with amazing views of Maiden Tower.

Beautiful mosque though the bus station and constant politicking that goes on in front of it detracts from the beauty of the place. This is another mosque built by the great court architect Sinan in 1548 in the honour of Mihrimah, favorite daughter of Sultan Süleyman the magnificent. There is another mosque built by Mimar Sinan in Edirnekapı by the same name aslo built for the same Mihrimah.

It was first time for me to pray tarawih prayer this way in istanbul. The imam reads one juzu (part) of quran per one night. He is praying twinty one rak'a. The recitation is very nice. Comfortable place for inhancing your spiritual feelings and relation with Allah. You can reach thier from the European side through Marmaray metro line dropp in Üsküdar station. Or if you are in the Asian side of istanbul you can take M5 metro line ti the same station.

Located in the historic center of the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, The Mihrimah Sultan Mosque is one of Üsküdar's best-known landmarks. Completed in 1548 in pure ottoman style, it's a beautiful piece of muslim art, a must see if you pass through this neighberhood.

Very nice and beautiful mosque. It was built by the order of Mihrimah Sultan, who was the daughter of Sultan Suliman. It also near the sea shore and can be seen from the sea easily. There is a big market nearby.

A peaceful mosque on the Asian side of the Bosphorus This is a peaceful mosque near the Uskudar ferry port and is the first sight that greets you on disembarking here. While quite small compared to other mosques in Istanbul, it is nevertheless a good place to see if you are in the area.

The Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, also known as the Üsküdar Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, is a historical mosque located in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque was commissioned by Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, and was designed by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. The mosque is considered one of Sinan's masterpieces and is noted for its striking architectural design. It features a central dome that is flanked by four half-domes, and is decorated with intricate tilework and calligraphy. The mosque also has two minarets, which are unusual for Ottoman mosques of that time period. The mosque was built between 1546 and 1548 and is considered an important example of Ottoman architectural history. It is also considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the city of Istanbul along with Rüstem Pasha Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque and Sehzade Mosque. It was not used as a mosque for long time after the collapse of Ottoman Empire, but now it open for public as a mosque and visitors can also see the beauty and the architecture of the mosque.
