Konak Meydan is the heart of the Izmir. It is the old downtown, with municipality and other government buildings, as well as many other consulates and historical buildings. It has a walking area, pier, ferries are leaving from here to Karsiyaka and has many restaurant/cafes on the right side. There are quite a few young boys harassing people I saw, which is something new for the area. Lots of police/bekci as well. It is not the same area that was 15-20 years ago, but still it is the heart of Izmir.

A simple but gorgeous square, always full of pigeons. You can buy a bag of seeds to feed them.

The heart of the city. Beautiful views of the clock tower. Everything accessible including the grand market, great for seashore walk and sunset.

Visited many times now and it's just as special as the first time I came. Such a great Turkish atmosphere with local folks and foreigners too. Love buying food for the pigeons from the old Turkish men. Spectacular architecture. This place has taken a place in my heart for sure. 10/10

Main square in city of Izmir, really beautiful by the sea, with nice view and lot of birds and of course a stunning clock tower. Lovely place.

Fascinating historical place .. i recommend visiting it at night not alot of people nice lightings ..

Very nice and enjoyable place, there is a small mascid beside it you can perform prayers and the children can enjoy the time playing there.

We enjoyed fully our visit to this place. It was full of life and nearby shopping and restaurant and transport to all locations in city. Main attraction is clock tower and feeding pigeons was exciting
