It might take some time to get to used to the environment, but it’s safe and authentic. Here you will feel like being a real neighbor. We've had one of our best stays ever in this amazing historical mansion. The room was immaculate clean, the mattress was very comfortable. The view from our room was breathtaking, we stood for an hour at the window and were watching the ocean and lights of İzmir by night. It wasn't only a room, we had a separate living room area, a fully equipped kitchen with a huge fridge and a bathroom. In every detail we felt the vibe of the last century, the whole furnishing of the room was genuinely, every detail is an antique. The staff was courteous. The highlight was our breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Big thanks to Ebru hanım who made our stay to something special. Absolutely recommended.

VIEW, VIEW, VIEW I think this place got the best view in İzmir, with the sea to the front and the city to the right hand you get a nice combination of eye relaxing beauty. The staff was nice and helpful, they accepted payment on arrival although I had to make it prior to check in. The building is nice, clean and tidy, decorated with some antiques such as old fashion phone, radio, and fax and other furniture. The apartment was spacious and cozy, furnished with antiques furniture yet some modern items. Highly recommend the penthouse apartment in 3rd floor, although it has shared terrace yet it was all for us as there are not so many units to be occupied by guests. The building located on hill, however there is easy way in and out without the need to go through high inclinations. Little problem for car parking as the building is located within relatively narrow street and recommend to use a car to stay in this area although the public transportation just down the road

This house is perched high on the hill overlooking central Izmir and Konak pier. What a view from up there, and the most amazing sunsets over the bay! You'll have a small private balcony to enjoy them, or a shared terrace on the roof for more sweeping views of the whole neighborhood. The entire place exceeded my expectations, from the comfortable rooms, beds and furniture, to the stately décor. The walks up and down the hill were great exercise but not for the faint-hearted! There are plenty of options to get into town though, including a local bus route not far away. Özlem was extremely welcoming and helpful, and Taner himself was a gracious host. I'd definitely recommend staying here or in any of Taner's homes that he has renovated. Exceptional attention to detail in every regard.

We arrived in Izmir with a booking at another hotel that will not be named, only to find out that they were closed when we arrived. The staff and management of Iconic Stone Houses were nice enough to let us use their wifi and even called the other hotel for us, who couldn't be reached. In the end, they were able to make last minute arrangements to let us stay with them for three nights, even if it meant we had to move from one room to another after the first night (because they were fully booked otherwise). The staff were really nice and involved in our booking issues. The view from their (shared) terrace is stunning. The location is a bit out of the center, but there are buses that can take you there. We ended up walking to and from the center everyday, which takes about 20 minutes and does involve quite a few steps.
