Experienced racism by Walker, a drunk, high security guard who cursed and got upset at my friends and I, stating we were not allowed in this lounge but continued to allow others inside... My friends are regulars here (not anymore, as well as some past customers due to me bringing this racist incident to social media) and spoke with bartenders who stated our drinks will be on the house after this horrific embarrassing incident. Walker continued to stomp off, curse at us (which I had to refrain from slapping the hell out of him due to seeing he were obviously under the influence at work) make out with customers and act as if he were being attacked after us questioning how is 20 others allowed into this lounge when we are not?? Walker continued stating he agrees that he was not letting us in due to our ethnicity. There was another security guard standing there looking at Walker in distress. Your amazing host Johnathan, stood in shock as well. Johnathan then pulled his wallet out, gave us 20$ dollars out of his OWN pockets, and tried making things right, as your racist employee Walker cursed and ran off to who and wherever. This was completely unacceptable as this is a place of business. I would like to thank the bartenders, Johnathan, as well as the other security guard who was there May 13th around 1 am for being amazing employees and showing what Park Place Lounge should be all about. Making things right and seeing as everyone as equals. I hope my feedback and this information will help Park Place Lounge consider hiring more employees who are passionate about their place of employment and what they do. Not racist buffoons who could care less about their job and their jobs customers. Hopefully Walker is now in a customer service refresher course due to him being your first impression of your business, to say the absolute LEAST.

The 2 stars are being generous. I'm really disappointed that this was not a better experience for my partner and I as we were looking for LGBTQ affirming bars while visiting Jacksonville, FL. The music was the main highlight for us during our visit; the drinks were decent and made a little heavily which made it hard to enjoy the drinks. We weren't aware that the bartenders kept our card when opening a tab, which would have been nice to know as I waited for about 7 minutes before the bartender returned back to me to inform me of that. I don't have an issue with it, but a sign or a heads up would have been nice. The service was slow in terms of turn around time between drinks and we felt more like we were bothering the staff then actually welcome. We definitely felt like we were visiting.

You're wanding (most!) folks at the door, preventing legally concealed weapons from being carried by reasonable, non-threatening people in an environment with a higher than usual risk of a violent attack. The "soft target" that is your establishment is in no small part that way because of your wanding policy. Granted, most of your floor plan doesn't jive well with concealed weapons laws, but bear in mind the reality is that most folks would rather be alive to argue that issue than fall victim or lose loved ones to a fatal attack. I've begrudgingly given up on accompanying my wife here because it's just flat-out reckless and irrational, especially considering 1 in 5 patrons aren't even wanded (regardless of that having no effect on an armed intruder intending harm), that you assert you're making the place safer when in fact you are harboring the opposite effect; a victim-rich environment. If you can't provide in-house armed security, you should not be dictating your patrons' inability to defensively stop or survive these types of attacks, which are unfortunately increasing in frequency.

Today was my first day visiting Park place. Everybody was very welcoming including the staff. A great neighborhood bar to meet good people. I was just passing through when I discovered this place and I already know I will return.

Nice people. I did see one chick go down on another chick in a bathroom stall. Before I entered the bar someone made a joke about the weird bathroom sex that happened. Low and behold lol ew. Other than this, nice bar!!

Cute and atmospheric place! Recently remodeled during the COVID shutdown, and a really nice outdoor seating area. Friendly and cute bartenders, and very welcoming atmosphere! Definitely has the feel of a traditional and historic gay bar. Also, the employees maintain extra cleanliness during this time. You can't beat the price of the drinks nor the fun to be had.

Edit; thanks for the expectedly underwhelming response. Do people actually enjoy this dump of a business? Trash place with garbage employees. Don't go here. They harassed my boyfriend and I for being affectionate at the bar. Ripped my drink out of my hand and made us leave. Said they were closed even though there were many other people sitting around. They pretend to be gay friendly but they are homophobes and bigots. Do not support this establishment.

If you like drugged out bartenders and picking and choosing who they want to like and dislike this is your place. If you are not into the drug scene you won't feel welcome here. But, hey if you are running low on your favorite substance bro this is your place.

One of the best lgbtq+ friendly places in JAX by far. You’ll have a great time and prices are reasonable really.

Park Place is the only bar inJacksonville that I visit. Born and raised in Jacksonville, I’ve lived in HOTLANTA, MIAMI & FT LAUDERDALE, none of these cities have a neighborhood bar like PARK PLACE! I’ve known Patty for over 40 years and she runs a very friendly, fun, incredible bar. I spend most of my weekends there because I know I’ll always have safe, friendly times……. and did I mention great drinks? I’m NOT forgetting RONNIE, ask for him when you come in, he won’t disappoint!…….and LORI, a fantastic new bar owner! I want to thank all of the BARTENDERS & BAR BACKS, especially PATTY for all the great times I’ve had with you!……..Patty, YOU ARE PARK PLACE!

I have been coming here for several years and I must say that the security here is top notch, having seen several personnel changes throughout the years. Walker and Jackson in particular are individuals that truly care about the establishment they are protecting after having several chats with them throughout the night. Being members of the community themselves I have never felt more related to in a space for LGBTQ 🥰

After the incident with the Bouncer Todd (who initiated “the gun joke”), we were very turned off and disappointed with Park Place. But all was not loss that night, bartender Ronnie was very apologetic; apologizing for something he had no parts of, “I love Mr. Ronnie”. Bob the bartender not so nice. The next day I spoke with the Manager Ms. Patty in person, again she was very apologetic, and she wasn’t even there; “Yep, love Ms. Patty too”. After a little over week, I had a chance to sit down with the owner Lori, I explained the events of that night, we had an in-depth conversation. Lori was understanding, apologetic and made it very clear all our welcomed at Park Place. Todd will not be returning as an employee to Park Place and I’m satisfied with the outcome of the situation.

Loved loved loved!! The bartender was so friendly and gave great recommendations! The music was on point. Can’t wait to go back. Only recommendation I have is that I wish the bartending service was a bit faster. The place wasn’t super packed and I was expecting my drinks in a more timely manner.

Love this place. I hope everyone realizes that Charlie and Vincent are the most loved. They take care of us like we’re their children. Please don’t change. We plan on coming here for years to come. Lastly, my favorite door guy is Todd. Long love Park Place 2050.

Tasty drinks and the atmosphere could be improved. But why are they blaring the same sports channels/games on all TVs? Switch it up but I didnt think this was a Sports Bar....

Went out with friends last night and was happily surprised about being able to get Espresso Martinis at PP! My friends and I didn’t know about it but Kyle makes a damn good one! We now found our regular cocktail 🩷 Thanks Kyle!

Decent bar. However, they need training on ADA compliance. I recently witnessed a man with a service dog be asked for proof he is a service dog and why the man needed the dog. An establishment can only ask "what tasks is the service animal trained to perform", but you cannot ask for proof and cannot require documentation. I leave this review so they won't violate federal law again.
