Dined here for our wedding anniversary, and we were treated like royalty before we ever arrived! Not to mention, the chef adventure menu experience exceeded our expectations for six courses! Impeccable service from valet & hostess to Ryan, Melissa, and Robert's memorable service. Highly recommend.

We felt so SPECIAL! Thank you to Jeff and the entire staff at Matthews. Celebrating our 10 year anniversary this is exactly the dinner experience we were looking for. Down to the intimate details of our fresh flower bouquet to our personalized menu... again we felt SO SPECIAL. Cheers to an outstanding gem so close by....your hard work and dedication to service did not go unnoticed! Highly recommend.

The service is superb ( "Mr.Bow" is a professional like no other ), the food is as well. Alight conplaint that 2 dishes came out coldish ( fish and lamb ) a small detail but also crucial for me. Temperature is key. I enjoy seeing that the Tasting Menu seems to vary all the time and that is somewhat impressive to us. Cocktails and wine pairing were divine. I think the place could use a small overhaul interior wise as it screws early 90's, but for the things that truly matter ( Food quality and hospitality ), you'll good that in spades here

This was such a unique dining experience! We got the tasting menu which was 6 courses of awesome food. We had such a great time celebrating our anniversary here, the service is exceptional and the food is just as exceptional. Our server was very articulate with the food itself and it made the dinner even more enjoyable knowing more about each ingredient.

Jeff was absolutely amazing tonight. My dad brought me here for my birthday. We had the chef's six-course experience and wine pairing, and it was indeed an experience. Jeff provided details of each meal and wine. What a great culinary adventure which was made great due to Jeff! We will definitely be back!

Went to Matthew's for my birthday with my wife and we had the Chef's Adventure Menu. Simply, it was amazing! With dishes featuring Wagyu A5 beef, Elk tenderloin, Trumpet Mushrooms, Ahi Tuna, Ora King Salmon, the adventure was far-reaching and stunningly delicious. The Trumpet mushrooms were surprisingly incredible with a slight char mimicking a grilled steak. The Elk tenderloin was spartanly seasoned with black pepper allowing the earthy tones of the meat to shine and delight. The Ahi Tuna had a sesame crust that elevated the fish texture and savoriness. And while I am not a fish fan, even the salmon was surprisingly good accented with buttery Brussel sprouts and fantastic crunchy croutons adding a depth of texture. The cheese course was a simple delight of La Tour triple cream with mascerated balsamic strawberries which prepared your palate for the elegant dessert of blackberry clafoutis, lemon gelee and marcapone w confectionary. Aside from the stunning meal was the incredible service offered by so many of servers. From entering the restaurant to leaving we interacted with no less than 6 hostesses and servers and each knowledgeable and eager to make our experience quite the memorable event. And it was. The atmosphere was elegant without be pompous, distinctive without being distracting and the designs of open kitchen and the long bar are entrusting and enjoyable. Even from a table at a distance Overall, a divine experience I will happily encourage you to try. The adventure menu is HIGHLY recommended. You may not live everything but you will certainly appreciate each and every dish. Enjoy!

On the advice of my realtor, Fader & Co's Anastasia C., who very much seems to have her finger on the pulse of Jacksonville, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Matthew's Restaurant and after a few hours, and at closing, walked away having experienced one of the most enjoyable evenings period! I absolutely owe that too Chef Justin, kind enough to introduce himself to me at dinner, GM Robert, a classy gentleman that introduced himself early in the evening and foretold the customized experience I would have, bartender extraordinaire Josh whom I was engaged with in conversation throughout as well as my new friends, locals Merlita and Ross G. who were kind, and a lot of fun, to impart with me their favorites of the establishment and area. As one who regularly partakes in Michelin starred establishments offering chefs tasting menus throughout NYC, LA, SF, SD, and Napa, I'm ecstatic to discover restaurants such as Matthew's exist in an area I'm interested in one day residing. Yes, the Foie Gras, Pork Loin, Risotto with Summer Truffle shavings were exquisitely prepared and as delicious, if not more so, than they appear in the attached shared photographs. It's been quite the whirlwind of culinary experiences visiting Jacksonville, shout out to neighboring restaurant Rue Saint Marc, one that Matthew's Restaurant and it's family of fine establishments impeccably topped that I can't wait to return too!

If you're hesitant, don't be! Mathew’s is slice of heaven. From the start of their wonderful cocktails and mocktails! To the delicious appetizers... literally all of them. Seriously, eat them all. Their food has become a craving! I haven't had a meal I haven't loved. Don't even get me started on desserts too! Make sure you save room.

This is by far the best restaurant you can get around town. Food & drinks were incredible and service is also great. Went to bar area because it was fully booked for the night. Joshua took great care of us. I do recommend making a reservation ahead because the bar and only a couple of tables are available w/o a reservation

Absolutely amazing from the moment you walk into the restaurant. The host and hostess was very polite and friendly. The menu is not huge which is not a problem, because the quality and presentation of our appetizers and Entrées far exceeded our experience! Highly recommended 10/10.

Six course tasting menu was an adventure. Some dishes were better than others. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Surprised to see many casual diners in jeans and shorts even though there is a dress code. Good place to celebrate a special occasion.

My boyfriend made reservations here for my 18th birthday. This is by far the nicest restaurant I have ever been to. The food is expensive, but you are paying for what you get. It was worth every penny. Everything that we ate was absolutely fantastic. We can’t wait to come back. James and David were amazing. I didn’t take any pictures, except one. The atmosphere was relaxing.

Really pricey but well worth the price. We did the chef's special and it was totally amazing. The wagu steak melts in your mouth. Jeffery our Waiter was awesome. I absolutely recommend him. Joshua the bartender can make the drinks. The atmosphere was great. If you want to try fine dining this is the place to go.

What I loved most about going to Matthews was the superb service we received. We felt honored and respected by their attention to detail in serving us. The appetizers were out of this world!! We got the Escargot with prosciutto, spinach, shitake mushroom, in sherry cream emulsion. Each item was bursting with flavor. Then we got the Leek with Farro. Again the flavors were wonderful. We also got the Lacquered Duck Breast and Halibut. Also the chocolate souffle for dessert! It was a wonderful evening!

My husband did the reservation for our anniversary and we had the tasting menu . I was excited it about, it was good . I wish for the price they had put a nicer meal, in my opinion the cheese with fruit was not good at all something so insignificant) I was looking at some of the items in the menu like escargot our selections were simple it was not great ( I will attach our six courses) also they did not do anything special for our anniversary, I been to other restaurants were the just do a simple writing on our dessert plate or a free drink or dessert , I will recommend to dine in not to celebrate any special occasion with them, overall good food . I love five of the six courses

My dining experience at Matthew's Restaurant was possibly the most memorable I've had in my entire life. It was a special occasion, as I decided to celebrate a passed relative who I was extremely close with. They were not only respectful of this, but went above and beyond to make this celebration a more-than-pleasant and unforgettable experience. I had the privilege of Jessica taking care of me all night: her kindness, stories, and explanation/knowledge of the food was a delight. The food, treatment, and wonderful team were not the only amazing thing about the experience: I thoroughly enjoyed the open kitchen and witnessing these talented chefs at work as they made some of the best food in Jacksonville. I definitely hope to return again soon, and hope those out there looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience with a wonderful team of wait staff and chefs alike will take the time to book a reservation here!

We found an amazing place to eat in Jacksonville. The staff was wonderful from the moment we walk through the door. It was our anniversary and we were looking for a 5 star dinner with a 5 star experience. Wow we found it. The food was absolutely delicious at every course. We started with the Hawaiian Tuna. It melted in our mouths as we slid into the Escargot and mushrooms, so smooth tender. Our main course came and the presentation was breathtaking. I got to enjoy the Maine Diver Scallops. You have to understand the layers of flavor, that are out of this world, even before you got taste the silky tender scallops. WOW! This establishment gets 10 Stars. We will definitely be back.

Came here for our holiday dinner. Had a fabulous experience. We got the tasting, which we were warned it’s European style so smaller portions. We ordered some more food with it but definitely didn’t have to. Every meal was crafted to look and taste amazing. We didn’t dislike a single part of the meals. The service was outstanding. Never had to ask for a single thing. Our server David was personable and attentive. Truly a fine dining experience and cannot wait to come again!

Entering this restaurant is a beautiful vibe, the ambiance is second to none. We sat at the chefs table for the 8 course tasting and wine pairing (I didn't take pictures of the wine but the paired wines were amazing). Ryan was our tour guide through this amazing experience and let me tell you, it was an adventure. One thing that I noticed about this place is that the chefs were young and that was awesome! We had so much fun interacting with the chefs asking questions and joking around with them. They are truly professionals and take their artistic abilities seriously. The food was INCREDIBLE! It's hard to find a word that gives you a "taste" of what it's like but I guarantee you won't be disappointed with what you get!! I'll definitely be back to try something else. Thank you to Robert, Ryan, Dustin, Carlton, Jordan and Alex for making this night very special. I know I'm forgetting some names but to everyone there, THANK YOU!!! ***some pictures weren't taken because I dove right into the food lol**** We had Steak Tartar, Tuna Tartar, Scallops, Sea Bass, Escargot, Muscles, American Wagyu, Pistachio Ice Cream

Good luck with parking. Tonight was my first time here and I found it a little difficult to navigate on finding a location when you walk in it is the bar area. It looks like it’s just a bar area but then in the back they have a nice cozy point restaurant area, the atmosphere is OK you’re able to view the kitchen from your table. It’s nothing really separating it. I ordered the holiday spritz which was delightful. For my meal I ordered a salad. It was very tasty and due to the fact that I don’t eat meat, but I do eat seafood they had options for me. I had scallops with fish. Both were very tasty. The food here is delicious. I would recommend the restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic place! I highly recommend the Chefs Adventure tasting. If you're not feeling adventurous, there are numerous wonderful offerings on the menu. The service is some of the best you will see in a restaurant. Obviously, price is going to be higher but you know that going in.

My husband & I went to Matthews for my birthday and I enjoyed every minute of it. Our waiter Ryan was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and he gave us top tier service. The brand ambassador Jeff was also amazing. He gave us a brief history on Chef Matthew, long they have worked together, and we really enjoyed hearing that they are close as family. Overall we had a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to have dinner at Matthews again!
