Corner Taco has a very welcoming, family owned atmosphere and friendly staff. The food however, has become bland and inconsistent. I hesitate to write a bad review because I want to enjoy this restaurant and support a local business. While they have unique options with a thoughtful variety of flavor combinations, but this is only something you’ll see written on the menu, not in the taste. My Common orders: General Tso’s tempeh taco, with their house made general Tso’s sauce. It is not well sauced, commonly burnt or tastes old, and the general tsos sauce can be best described as a plain jelly with salt. Yucca fries: the fries are always a top tier quality, they come with a house made sauce. This sauce used to be flavorful, but no longer compliments the fries and only has heat. Buttermilk chicken tacos: Dry, bland. Inconsistent quality and flavor. 24 hour carnitas tacos: Dry, bland. Inconsistent quality and flavor. This restaurant has so much potential, and previously under different management was one of the best spots in Jax. I hope to see them return to the level of quality they once had.

After eating 2 of my 4 tacos, I noticed some blueish greenish spots one of the remaining corn shells. I took a closer look and there was mold spotted throughout the taco shell. I checked the 4th and it had the same thing so the first two likely did as well. What really annoyed me was that I tried to call them to tell them to check their tortillas so they wouldn't serve them to anyone else (as they obviously weren't catching it) and they didn't answer. The phone rang for a minute until they finally hung it up. I tried to call again and the same thing. I was trying to do them a favor and help out as I have previously frequented this spot, instead I got disappointing quality in food and service.

This the spot. Street and tradional mexican food to be found. Chorizo nachos and yucca brisket. Totally will go back. Absolutely a moment.

I stopped in today on a whim and I was thoroughly impressed. For one thing, I thought the server made a mistake when they told me my total was only $15! I mean I got three tacos and an ipa and even added some of their house made queso fresco to them! The tacos were really really good and substantial as well! The chorizo taco with the queso fresco and they give you fresh cilantro to put on it!!! This is sooo good this little hole in the wall is a gem for sure.

All I can say is horrible food. I ordered take out and even paid extra for cotija cheese and didn't even get that. No flavor, meat was dry and probably 2 or 3 pieces of cabbage n cilantro. 🤮. Very disappointing. Do not eat there.

Burritos are delicious. Esp. the (1) tenderloin & brie and (2) jerk chicken burritos. Hot sauces are great. So is Katie!

This place is AWESOME! Local ingredients. Hidden gem! Everything is made fresh - even some of their drinks. I had the house-made lavender lemonade and it was great! You can color on the table. Parking can be a challenge but it’s worth a visit for sure!

Very small & attractive & attentive restaurant. I loved the way everything is set in here. Parking is available outside but limited spots. Their tempeh taco is good for vegetarians. Three way dip 😍 was just delicious. Chips are very nice too. Rosemary lemonade was also something interesting & new to try. Flowers are real. Small details are good.

We were 1st time diners at this place. Waited at the bar for many minutes but no employee spoke to us at all. (There is a kiosk for self-ordering but also a sign for ordering at the bar.) It was a Monday so maybe their crew was small? After several minutes my son's drink was brought out (not mine - later I asked for it and the server apologized. ) A while later our food came out. I don't think one of my tacos was what I ordered but I didn't want to complain and was ok with the ingredients. The flavors were good. The corn tortillas held together (often corn tortillas fall apart). My blackened taco was too salty. Not sure I will return. The food was good and I saw an interesting selection of alcoholic beverages, but customer service needs improvement. Like a lot. P.S. I would have ordered a side of chips and guacamole but it was priced $12!

TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. Let me just start by saying I have never left a bad, correction HORRIBLE review under any restaurant! My experience was madness. When I ordered, I told the employee exactly what I wanted. I ordered 2 steak tacos with NO CABAGE, NO SAUCE, NO BELL PEPERS. With only cilantro and and queso on the side. He repeated my order to me and GAVE ME THE TACOS AS WITH EVERYTHING STILL ON THEM. Also not with the queso I requested and paid extra for on the side! When pulled the taco apart in attempt to eat them, there was barely any meat on it. I called the employee to the table and requested a refund he refused me a refund. I am angry, and outraged at this poor customer service!

I was incredibly pleased with my experience here. My Grubhub driver was running a little behind and someone called from the restaurant to let me know. The communication was stellar. Also.... I LOVED the food. Been doing a lot of Grub Hub lately and this is the first time in a long while I felt really GOOD after eating. They use clean and fresh ingredients. My favorite tacos were the asada and shrimp. The cream sauce is delicious. Chips are perfect, in fact I had them as a snack later and they tasted as fresh as they did earlier, not stale like others can get.Salsa also yum. Would order again for sure. This meal brought me joy. ❤️

4$ for one taco is insane there are better, cheap and more authentic places than this. The food is bland and expensive for the portion I recommend not spending your money or time here. Their "organic" food is gross and they don't even make your order correct and forget to put in meats. Paid 9$ for a small cafeteria sized portion of chicken nachos and didn't even come with chicken .0/10

Came here with some family from out of town. Service was fast but I did find it to be quite expensive as a meal for three came out to be over $75. I ordered Carnitas tacos but they tasted more like BBQ to me. I thought the blackened Mahi taco was pretty decent. My fiancé liked his burrito & we thought the chips with queso were not bad. Not sure if we’ll be back but I’m glad we tried it!

Think this place is highly overrated. Went there after reading comments and tried for myself. Spent almost $30 dollars just on me. First of all you order the food yourself by a screen in the entrance (lack of service) so there is this feeling of fast food taco bell mc Donald's. I order entree guacamole and chips. Those were flooded in salt. Couldn't even eat half of them. Guacamole had lots of lemon on it. Order a burrito and it was just ok. Taste was ok but think everything was overpriced. Place is very plain and simple

I would give this place a pass right now until they fix their food quality issues. Food was beyond salty. Steak was basically burnt. Missing food in our order. Any mods were completely ignored, basic things like add tomatoes. Sauces that were supposed to be on things completely left off. Fried chicken was very dry and overcooked. Grilled Mahi was over cooked and hard. The only saving grace were the shrimp tacos were decent. I could see this place being very good but just not right now.

We found this place waiting for a table at hawkers. TLDR should have waited. We decided to eat at Corner Taco since who doesn't love tacos and the whimsy of going somewhere you don't know at the last second. It was intoxicating! We were confused about the ordering since there was a touch screen at the door bur menus at the cash register. People saw us but never welcomed us. We had to figure it out for ourselves. We decided to go up to the counter and order. We waited and waited and waited some more. We asked if we could order from the counter, and she said yes, then went back to work. Then we waited and waited and waited. Finally, when we were helped, we ordered the brisket taco, sour cherry tenderloin taco, surf and turf taco, fried chicken taco, and the nachos. When we got the order, most of the items were cold. Nothing was great. The surf and turf taco i had to ask which one of my tacos was surf and turf because the shrimp was so small. They only used one corn tortilla for their tacos. That is a newbie construct that guarantees a messy experience for the customer. Wet toilet paper comes to mind. The fried chicken taco was the favorite, but we all agreed we probably won't be back. Doesn't compare to osprey tacos or casa la reina in st augustine. I wanted to like this place really I did since it helps me on my quest for great tacos everywhere.

I recently had my birthday at the restaurant and they were so amazing! Everyone was very accommodating and they made it feel like we really weren’t bothering them. The food is always great and I’m happy I chose to have my bday party here.

I don't know why we didn't walk out as soon as we walked in. The kitchen was blasting some awful death metal while other music was playing at the same time (instant headache) and the place looks so run down and dirty... but we were starving. Unfortunately, they were bogged down with DoorDash orders and it took 45 minutes to get our food. The food was pretty good but definitely not worth the wait. The staff was nice and apologetic but would never return again.

While visiting the Riverside area, wifey wanted to grab some tacos so after reading a couple of reviews she settled on Corner Taco. All of their tacos are served with shredded cabbage, cilantro & lime on 6” corn or house-cooked flour tortillas. They did not disappoint, the tacos were good. She had the General Tso's Chicken taco and she lucked up and got a Chorizo taco for free (it was a mistake but they let her keep it). We dined in because the ambiance was nice and customer service was on point. We'll be back. Also, you can order ahead for curbside pickup.

Always loved this place, and every time I come through Jax I go here. Great area, amazing food, and just the perfect place on the corner. Tacos are always great, and you can mix and match. Last time got fresh fried oysters and (coming from the northwest) will say incredible. I’ll come back time and time again.

We were going in with fairly high expectations and wanting to enjoy our meal. But the service took a while (my husband noticed the chef frequently walking out of the kitchen while preparing our meal). The tacos all had the same toppings, were under seasoned, and the meat (e.g., chicken, mahi) were dried out. The corn tortillas were a bit greasy and falling apart easily. The black bean side dish tasted like it was out of a can. Fortunately, it was a cheap meal. This place has nothing on Osprey Taco on Anastasia Island.

Incredible flavors here. Only complaint is the veggie taco is more expensive than that of those with protein. Okay, cool I thought. But the serving size was pathetic. Please don't starve the people that like to eat clean.

YES!!! Highly recommend for variety of tacos you may not have indulged In before. Corner Taco is worth the stop for any time of day. 🌮

The food was not that tasty, pricey, and atmosphere is bland and dark. $30 for 3 tacos plus gauc and chips. The 24 hour brisket tasteless. The buttermilk chicken salty AF. The tacos just have cabbage and some weird sauce. Not gonna come back here at all.

Fantastic service and even better food! The gentleman who took my order, Saul, was so nice and hospitable! I got the carnitas tacos and they were to die for! The cheese dip was also a very tasty treat. Will definitely be coming here again. 😁

Good flavor in the brisket and the cheese dip. I would recommend adding additional items to the taco as I felt it needs more than just meat and cabbage in the taco. Corn she'll fell apart instantly. Maybe from the cabbage in the bottom?
