We went to Julington Creek Fish Camp for dinner. We made reservations for 6:30 and dined in the downstairs part of the restaurant. The restaurant is always packed due to the quality of the food and atmosphere. It is a bit noisy when the restaurant is busy and it can get a bit overwhelming when you are trying to relax with a good meal and conversation. For an appetizer my wife ordered the fried green tomatoes and I the shrimp cocktail. For our entrees she ordered the grilled shrimp with grits and I the broiled seafood platter which has cod, shrimp, scallops, zucchini, squash and potatoes in a white wine sauce. I decided not to get the scallops and just got extra shrimp. The food was excellent like always and the waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it and the food has always been great. If you are looking for a REAL seafood restaurant while in the Mandarin area make a reservation and you too will experience an awesome restaurant with great food!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Julington Creek Fish Camp! We have been to other locations & received excellent service & this location maintained that standard. Our serve Ms. Millie was an absolute delight who took wonderful care of us & her nearby tables, she clearly understood the menu & went to great lengths helping a table near us with allergen/diet concerns. Her recommendations on sauces & how to reheat leftovers did not disappoint either! The food itself was fresh, delicious, & came out in a timely manner. We had the platter for 2 which was more than enough for 2 (no complaints keep it up y’all) We will certainly be back again!

This is a great place to visit if you want seafood, you just have to pick the right item off the menu. The drinks were amazing and the service was exceptional. The lion fish was very tasty and fresh. The sauce that came with my tuna was the perfect pairing. However, my tuna was slightly overcooked, the oysters had shells in them, and the shrimp ceviche was too vinegary.

We went here 2 years ago and I've been dying to come back ever since. The service is excellent the staff is super friendly. I ordered the spicy Seafood linguine. The dinner I had two years ago was not the one that I had last night. 2 years ago it was full of flavor spicy garlicky was a home run. The one I had tonight was dry and lacked flavor. I'm going to chalk this up as just I got a bad dish. If there is a new cook don't be afraid of the spices dude!

This place gets pretty busy, but staff and food is great. Our server, Chris answered all our questions, was so helpful and awesome! I opted for the flounder special, tasty and unique flavors. My husband had the seafood basket with shrimp, fish and clam strips and in his words the shrimp was 'succulent', fish was 'scrumptious', clam strips were 'okay', and fries were 'robust and amaze-balls'. Gator tail was okay, will probably opt to try a different appetizers next time. Sangria and Mango Mojito were both made well.

Great food and great atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Our waitress did an amazing job. Thank you! Only reason for four stars is the parking. Not a bunch of it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how you even fix it. It's a tight spot. However, I would not let that keep me from coming back.

🦀🦐🐟Fresh seafood with a nice view! I loved the Low Boil it was probably the best dish I’ve had here. The fried dishes here never miss! The waiters are super awesome and very attentive to our table! However, my brother did not enjoy his Spicy Seafood Linguini (he ordered it without the spicy part so I think that’s why). I did not like the margarita I ordered because it was very watered down. But overall, this beautiful restaurant has a great staff along with fresh seafood!

We came in for our wedding anniversary. Staff went out of their way to seat us at a table next to the window so we could have a view. Our waiter was more than sweet and attentive. All staff had such good vibes. The grilled oyster were absolutely delicious we ordered two orders of them. The octopus salad was very tasty. The caramel cheesecake was delicious. We had such a great experience and tasty food here we sure will return soon.

I have never had a bad experience at these restaurants! Even on the busiest nights we have been served promptly every time! The food is delicious and plated very well. The Low country boil is my wife and mines favorite, it is so much food! I also love the brook trout! Pictures below!

There are some places where reviews are completely unnecessary based on the loyal customers they possess. This is one of those places. There will always be a waiting line of a min 45 mins. The lunch crowd on the weekend is a diverse group which is nice. The seating inside is cramped and very loud. Outside is a bit better with a view and a breeze. The homemade sangria wasn’t my favorite however, the service was top notch. No matter how busy they seem to be the wait staff is on top of their game. We arrived around 2pm and found a parking space easily. By the time we left around 4pm there was a traffic backup in the parking lot and hard to get out. I recommend if it is your first visit, go early on a Saturday when they open.

We had a great lunch. The appetizer came out quick. The Clam chowder was amazing. It did take a bit to get the entree. It was packed so that is understandable. The shrimp and grits was great. Not too spicy. The fried fish sandwich was great. Nice and Crispy. So yes, I will definitely be back.

Highly recommend the scallops and flounder. Everything was super fresh, it's obvious they were caught in the morning and not frozen. Both blackened and fried were really good. I asked for some dip, I don't think they usually include it since the food itself is so flavorful, but I like it on my fries. Service was exceptional.

We had an absolutely wonderful time last night at Julington Creek Fish Camp! We had just arrived in Florida from Chicago and drove here on the way from the airport to St. Augustine (where we're staying) because we'd heard good things about the place. We were also aware that the wait could be quite long. (Especially as we were a party of 5). But we weren't in a hurry so we were willing to wait. Two of us managed to get seats at the bar and the other 3 found seats in the waiting area while we waited, and the hour or so of waiting time went pretty quickly thanks to the very friendly staff, notably Chris, our waiter, and Dan, our bar tender. We had several different speciality cocktails, all of which were delicious, especially my margarita! Very fresh ingredients. Dan was super friendly and a very attentive bar tender. Eventually our dinner was spectacular. Each of us had a different fish dish and each of them was amazing and delicious. I had the trout, my MIL had the halibut special, my daughter had the broiled seafood platter and my husband and son both had the snapper catch of the day. We all tried tastes of each other's plates and we all agreed that everything was wonderful. The fish was expertly cooked, very tender and juicy, and all the different sauces and accompaniments were delicious. We had absolutely excellent friendly service throughout the meal from Chris, our waiter. The whole experience was outstanding!

My husband took me here for my birthday today. (I also went for my birthday last year and have wanted to go back ever since.) The service is fantastic. Our server Millie was very seasoned and anticipated everything we could possibly need and more. She took great care of us. The appetizers here are incredible. Every dish we have gotten has been exceptional. Pictured is the fresh fried okra, conch fritters, shrimp n' grits, beet salad, lemon brown butter Cod and Cranberry bread pudding.

Awesome food! Took my brother out who was visiting from out of town! The scallop appetizer was amazing!! He got the cod, cooked to perfection and tasted so good. I got the scallops for my dinner and it was also cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and the service was top notch!! Make reservations or otherwise it is hard to get into!!

This is a great seafood restaurant with a variety of items to choose from on the menu. They seem to be very popular, so I recommend making a reservation ahead of time. I love the seaside ambience in the restaurant and the window view overlooking the water. We will definitely be returning for this delightful experience!

I love eating here, you can see the boats by the water. The staff are quick and friendly. We love to get the Trigger Fish, I highly rerecommend it. I got grilled and my husband got fried. My daughter got the shrimp and grits and loved them. They even had chicken tendors and fries for my granddaughter. We will be back.

Cold beer, a friendly team and absolutely delicious food. What a combo! It's well worth a visit, but can get busy so I definitely suggest a reservation. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. We will be back for another great evening 👍

I just adore this place. Perfect local place and great place to take guest. Cocktails are spirited and food hot and delicious. Atmosphere is relaxed. Outdoor and indoor seating. View over the marina. Accommodates small parties. Valet parking available to guest.

Our server was amazing. Can't remember her name but she was an older woman with dark, short hair. My veggies were a little overseasoned and my potatoes were not seasoned at all. However, they were cooked perfectly. There were many pieces of shells in my crab cakes but they were delicious. It's a small restaurant and it was packed the entire time. It made it challenging to maneuver around due to people being everywhere and tables being so close together. It was also very loud. There also isn't much space for you to wait for your table so people stand wherever they can find a space even if it is right over you at your table. It was also very warm.

Wow! We have been here a couple of times. This time was for my wife's birthday. Everything we had was excellent! The staff is wonderful and very attentive. My wife had the shrimp and grits, I had the seared cod with brown butter pecan sauce. We also had their fried okra, conch fritters and beet salad. We finished with their bread pudding. We will be returning again!

If for nothing else, please try their bread pudding. My goodness, hands down the most delicious dessert I’ve had in any restaurant is a long time! My partner, who generally won’t eat dessert and was already skeptic when it arrived loved it. We talked about it most of the drive home 🤣 but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything. I generally order the mussels to start and this time I tried one of their specials. They are also consistently great, I’ve visited this one and the STA location and neither disappoints.

Came here for my birthday dinner & it was everything I wanted in an experience! They accommodated my last minute reservation time change no problem. The atmosphere was so lively & such beautiful views!. The staff were so personable & knew the food & sold it! I had the best oyster shooter I've ever had here. The hot mama cocktail was amazing & the crab legs were super juicy & sweet! I will be back!

If you are going to stop in Jacksonville, I would highly recommend Julington Creek Fish Camp. I had high expectations due to the great experience I had at North Beach Fish Camp last year. We ordered the Broiled Bay Scallops and the Grilled Octopus w/ White Bean Salad for appetizers. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and seasoned to a great taste. My partner ordered their most famous and #1 pick the Shrimp and Grits with White Wine Butter Sauce, I ordered the Salt and Pepper Tuna seared rare with a Sesame Salad. First off, these are not your run-of-the-mill breakfast grits, which is what I expect most folks would imagine. The grits have an incredible flavor topped with the deliciously cooked and seasoned shrimp. Only a true taste test would do justice. My Salt and Pepper Tuna was very fresh with natural flavor, other than being seared, anyone who loves sashimi would not go wrong with this entrée. I would highly recommend all of these dishes. If you have never tried their Shrimp and Grits, I would recommend everyone try the plate. The plate probably isn't big enough to share, but it is a decent portion. If you found my review helpful, follow my local guide profile to see my experiences with other destinations!

Make a reservation. I didn't and sat outside. Too hot. My server Kyle B. was wonderful! The fried shrimp and crab cakes were delious. Someone at a nearby table had a screaming toddler and heard him through my whole meal! Only thing I hated!

Fantastic first time experience last night! The specialty cocktails were delicious, fried gator tail the most tender we’ve ever had and the broiled seafood platter - blackened - was amazing! Our kiddo thought she was enjoying “chicken” thanks to our accomplice server and she polished off her share of fried gator tail bites! Excellent service from Alayna and her team. The enclosed heated patio had the perfect nook for our impromptu dinner party of 7. Highly recommend!

Every time I visit my family in Jacksonville, this is where we go for lunch or dinner. Sometimes I’m there twice during my visits. I love their food, it’s so fresh and the atmosphere and the view is relaxing. I have a meat allergy and the Servers are especially cognizant of my issues which really helps me. Just a few notes about some possible changes or improvements, the coleslaw needs some love. I usually order that because some of the side dishes have a meat base. The last time I was there, I had one of their menu specials, which was the butternut squash Salad. Unfortunately, there were only five or six bits of butternut squash in the salad. I usually get the beet salad and wished that the butternut squash salad was more like that. The greens were too much, and they were soggy and hard to chew. It would’ve been so much better if the butternut squash was on a SMALL bed of greens and featured the actual butternut squash with the pecans and cranberries - Similar to the beet salad. Looking forward to my return to try their other locations because of the atmosphere.

OMG! This place is amazing! We were greeted by a friendly hostess who showed us to the bar while we waited for friends to arrive. As soon as everyone arrived we were shown to our table. The wait staff was fantastic! I wish I had gotten his name but unfortunately I didn't. He knew the menu, offered suggestions, our food was delivered promptly and accurately to our table even though we did customize a number of dishes. Our drinks were never empty and dirty dishes were promptly removed. The food... Was unbelievable! Everyone in our party was very pleased with their meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The dining area and restrooms were very clean. There is not a single complaint the I or anyone in our party could say about Julington Creek!

Our family enjoys eating here quite a lot. My oldest daughter loves the clam chowder, and our middle girl orders the fish sandwich to share with her sister. The seafood is always fresh and tasty. The main issue we had was with grittiness in the Broiled Seafood Platter. It seemed to be that the scallops were not properly cleaned both times I ordered the dish on different visits which is too bad because crunching on grit can spoil a dish. We will return to this location, but I most likely won’t order the Broiled Scallops again.

  • 5/5 Brittney M. 3 years ago on Google
Great food and drinks. The hot momma was delicious and the scallops were very tender and felt like they could melt in your mouth with a robust flavor of a cheese reduction sauce.

Every-time we come here it’s such an amazing experience. The food is always fresh and has the most impressive taste. We always say we’re gonna try one of the traditional menu items but every-time their special of the day sounds too amazing not to try. This truly has become one of our favorite places to eat! Highly recommend everyone this amazing restaurant!

Dined with 9 others Sunday night-made reservation for 6pm. Our table was ready and we were immediately seated. Wait staff was knowledgeable, patient, and efficient. We all ordered something different and everyone raved about their choice. I had blackened grouper, other choices included seafood linguine, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits. Definitely recommend!

The menu is small and has a font that you can barely read if you have "old eyes". The non-alcohol drinkers got their drinks right away. 2 beers however weren't delivered until after we had completely finished the appetizers. Then we waited an additional 10 minutes or so for the waitress to take our order and another 20 to be served. Prices are fairly steep so we expected to be "wowed". Nope. Same stuff as every other seafood place but smaller portions. My husband ordered the shrimp basket and about 30 minutes after getting home, started to complain about not feeling well. He was up and down all night with stomach cramps. So needless to say...it was our first and last visit.

  • 5/5 Chris O. 3 years ago on Google
I moved to Jacksonville mid 2013 and have tried several seafood restaurants. This place is hands down the BEST restaurant I’ve been to! It’s hard to describe just how good the food was. I had the night special of crusted red snapper and my wife had the seafood boil! We also had the pleasure of meeting Dan who was our waiter. We sat down stairs and all the servers were great but Dan really went above and beyond! It’s really like he knew what we wanted without us even having to say it. I could really go on and on about this place but I will stop and just say PLEASE do yourself a favor and go if you haven’t been!!

My brother in law treated me and my husband here for our 18th wedding anniversary. LOVED IT!!! His salmon was beautiful and cooked perfectly. My sirloin steak was off the chain and tender. My husband had fried seafood ...also perfect. If you love greens...these were so different but tasted great. The balance between sweet and sour was to perfection. And the cheesecake and bread pudding was delicious! Topped everything off with a bottle of Moscato and we were done!! What a great place and the views outside was post card perfect!!!😊🙂😌

The appetizers were good, not great. We got the scallop ceviche (pictured) and another scallop dish, served hot. Much like an oysters Rockefeller. My entrée was the whole fried fish. Excellently seasoned and so fresh! The bread pudding was also so very good! We went for lunch on my birthday and got right in. They get very busy for dinner, so plan accordingly!

  • 4/5 Gail W. 3 years ago on Google
In past the food has always been very good. In last visit, the food was good, but service was not. It took more than an hour to receive our food. Many tables around us who had been seated after us were fed and left before we received our order. Our food was hot and good; so I don't know if delay was due to waitress or with the chefs. But waitress did not come to inform us of delays, even though she passed our table many times. It could make a difference when we go back.

Very enjoyable! Such a lovely late afternoon we had to sit outside as the sun was slowly setting, weather was perfect, nice background music, mouth watering smells, and great conversation set the atmosphere to relax and enjoy excellent cod fish sandwiches ... great flavor that just about melt in your mouth. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

People always acuse me of being a hard core foodie. I've had amazing seafood in Hong Kong, communist China, NY, Las Vegas PA, Carribbean, on and on. Burlington Creek Fish Camp is world class seafood. WOW! only here will you find creamy grits as one of the best side dishes in Florida. The most tender appetizer of calamary. Perfect gator nuggets. The fried oysters are so deep. Grouper and scallops are flawlessly delicate. I Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I went here for her birthday. It was our first time and will definitely go back. The food, service and atmosphere were great. Reservations are strongly recommended. This place is busy, at least on the Saturday night we went. They have complimentary valet parking which is a nice touch. You almost have to use it because the main parking lot is small. A lot of reviews mention the noise. It is loud but we don't mind that so much. Very nice place.
