I really want to give this place 4.5 stars. The food is good, although my brisket was a little tough. My sliced pork was juicy and delicious. I don't know what they do to the French fries but they are amazing. The coleslaw was a perfect tangy/cream mix. The food came out quickly with smiles from the staff.

Everyone has a specific bbq standard and I get this but I find this good to be awesome. The brisket is a bit different but still super tasty the ribs were the best. I loved the collard greens, baked beans and Mac and cheese and all of the sauces were delicious, especially the mustards. We even took one home (they sell in bottles) we really enjoyed our meal and the kids loved the chicken tender and fries. The waitresses were great and friendly and the inside is really cute and comfortable, nice down home-rustic feel. Would recommend to anyone looking for good BBQ in the area.

The food was great! I ate pulled pork that was well seasoned, tender, and juicy with fresh fries and Mac n cheese. It was filling. The mild bbq sauce was sweet and delicious.

Don't be deceived by the exterior of this place. It is well maintained and very beautiful inside. The food portions are huge! Their sweet BBQ sauce was the best. A worthwhile place to try.

The sliced BBQ is great and the shrimp is so tasty. But the real awesomeness was the Brussels sprouts. I ordered two sides and my 7 year old can't get enough. The Mac and cheese was over cooked but I still couldn't stop eating it. The service was spot on I will definitely keep coming back.

Excellent, friendly, comfortable. This place was a life saver. I hadn't had a chance to eat yet today when I pulled in. And, they did me right. Also, those greens were so delicious that after I finished eating them I drank the juice. I'd give 'em 6 stars if I could.

Had a few crackheads come in while we were dining. Service was fast and very friendly. Food was not even mediocre in my opinion. Purchased brisket and it was absolutely awful. Will not return

This place deserves no star! I'm in the hospital trying to get something tasty to eat, sent my son to this place for the 1st time to get some ribs. Got the large (smoked) rib dinner with Cole slaw and Mac n cheese. The ribs were covered in fat and tasted old with zero flavor, the Mac n cheese wasn't even as good as box Mac n cheese and the Cole slaw was watery, I didn't even bother to try it. Had to throw the whole meal away. My daughter got 2 containers of brisket which is still sitting in the fridge. Needless to say I was super disappointed 😞 It matters what you serve the public if you want your business to grow. Waste of money!!!😡 Also, I feel some of these reviews are staged, that or I just happened to go on a bad day.🤔

Great BBQ, and a great atmosphere. Not a hugh place but makes you feel like a small town atmosphere. Would suggest you stop in and enjoy the good eats!!!

The food here was not very good. I don't think the greens they served were collards, they left a 3 day bad taste in my mouth. I think they were mustard. The pulled pork ad no flavor and was saved by the mustard bbq sauce. The best part was the servers, they were quick and friendly. As a foodie I do not recommend...

Family get together tonight at Fred Cotton's Landmark BBQ.....thank you Melanie and Ed for great BBQ....we were all happy, blessed, and full. The wings and coleslaw was outstanding.

Wow. Wow. Fred’s is such a good BBQ joint that you can always count on for quality, fast great meals. I come by for lunch at least once, if not twice a week with my coworkers and it can’t be beat. Dying to come by and try the all you can eat BBQ. I wouldn’t dare have if weekdays 😴. They have daily specials and I’ve had almost all of them with no complaint.

I visited today with my husband for the first time and it was very delicious. The ribs were fall of the bone tender and so was the chicken. Both were seasoned just right. I got collard greens and baked beans and they were amazing. Their homemade sweet tea was to die for. Portion sizes are big and customer service is top notch. They're very welcoming. We will defintely be returning.

Seriously good, BBQ. I stated I was in a bit of a hurry to the staff debating whether or not I had time. As i was on lunch break. The atmosphere of this establishment is great for dining in. I experienced friendly staff and die-hard locals. The community really drives the energy of the place. No other place in town will you fit it so seamlessly. Back to the point of time. I had my food as quick as 6 minutes from ordering. The sense of urgency I believe came from my soft request to get to the next job. All in all, it's a great place. I want to go there after work to enjoy the moment without a time crunch.

Our favorite and so impressed how they kept to the original recipes. We hosted my parents 50th anniversary surprise party here and Melanie and her team treated us like gold. The food was fresh and fast for our large group of 35. Everyone loved it. Liz and the wait staff were attentive and a pleasure to work with. The party was a success because of you guys! Made it so easy for us as hosts! If you're looking for a place to have a get together - they do it right!!! We will definitely be back and highly recommend to all!

I signed up for the meat sweats and they did not disappoint. Love the hot mustard. Wish the sauce was bottled so I could take some home chicken fingers were awesome like the chicken was raised in buttermilk and given a massage before frying

I've had my husband's left over chicken 2x and it was good. This was my first time going myself and I was disappointed. Others speak and review high but I didnt have the same food experience. I must say the waitress was nice and friendly. It took about 20 -25 minutes for my to go order with 1 person ahead of me. I ordered the brisket dinner, the chicken tender combo and mozzarella sticks. The brisket was dry and tough, it was more like sliced roast beef than brisket. The chicken tenders(the waitress said "are the best") looked good, but we're also dry and fried hard. The fries were nothing special just ok. The coleslaw was good if you like sweet slaw and the texas toast which is .50 extra per slice was good. The white bread that comes with the brisket meal they could have kept it. The sweet and tangy sauce taste like watered down spiced ketchup. My son said the mozzarella sticks were "just ok". Overall it was just ok, lol don't know if I'd go back. I definitely wouldn't get the brisket or tenders again.

The food was in abundance. Good portions and cooked well but lacked flavor. It’s like their seasonings for the meat was water. The sauces aren’t hearty enough to add that much flavor to the meat. The shrimp was the best thing that we had there. The greens tasted like they came out of a can. The Mac and Cheese had no salt or a piece of pepper. The corn was bland. The beans are the most popular, because it’s really hard to mess up baked beans in my opinion. We were very disappointed, the customer service is nice. But we came for the food and will never come back.

If you are looking for a place that the entire family can enjoy, unfortunately Fred Cottons BBQ is not THE place anymore. They have transitioned to more of a night club atmosphere with entertainment that at times is not appropriate for people of all ages. It’s no longer the traditional Fred Cottons it was for decades.

I ordered the rib dinner was excellent huge ribs portion definitely will be back customer service is there seems everywhere I go no customer service was surprised how nice the people were support small businesses

Great server and delicious BBQ. GO here if you get a chance. The loaded potatoes are a force to be reckoned with.

*Update - I still love their sauce, and my husband loves the ribs and sausage. My fries were overcooked to the point that I couldn't eat them, and I forgot that the mac & cheese is of the fake cheese type and accidentally ordered it. My pulled pork sandwich was perfect. It was cold outside, and they had the door open and didn't close it when asked. But we didn't make a fuss or ask twice, so...maybe that's on us. Really good food. It's definitely worth going to. Wow. I've always heard of it, but this was my first visit. Fantastic! I had to buy a bottle of their original sauce to bring home. Their pulled pork and ribs 😋 yummy. The rub on the ribs is really exciting and different. The fries were perfection, and the Cole slaw...on point. The waitress was really pleasant and attentive. I'm glad it's close to home. We will definitely become regulars.

Found them Google Maps and came because of the reviews. GLAD WE DID. We had the Pork Moab sandwich with a side of collard greens as well as the fish. Food was great and service was as well. Brie was great. For the first time here we felt very welcome.

Nice place, food was tasty, staff quite friendly, but how can you be a bbq place and not have cornbread? Don't get me wrong, I'm still going back. It was delicious and the place is cool, I just had a craving for cornbread when I decided to stop there and got disappointed on that minor point.

I can't thank Fred Cotten's Landmark BBQ enough for the outstanding food and service. I had a lunch and learn with my team and asked what my team wanted for lunch. Everyone said BBQ. With that answer, I knew exactly where I was ordering food from, Fred Cotten's. My team's reaction to the food is indescribable. Everything was AMAZING. We ordered pulled pork, mac-n-cheese (thanks Ed), BBQ beans and chocolate cake. The amount of food was beyond measure (we had 16 people with PLENTY left over), just like the taste of the food. Me and my team cannot say enough about the food and service from Melanie and her team. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking care of my team, having the BEST BBQ around and especially the kindness and hospitality even though we had our lunch to-go, still the same great personal service as if we were eating at the restaurant. If you need an idea for ordering food to be catered, or for ANY reason, Fred Cotten's is THE place, plain and simple.

Great barbecue near the downtown area. I recommend this BBQ place. It's authentic. on main street close to town. i had the pulled pork sandwich with iced tea and it was great. i am looking forward to going back there soon.

I'm not a big bbq eater but when I have a taste for it,I would go to bonos or sonny's in the past.The service and food at these two places has went down hill,so I haven't had my bbq fix in a while,I like to support small business and this is one that has put my faith back into great service and food. Not trying to write a book but want to give a great review to this barbecue, I believe quality service and quantity of food has went bad since covid. I try to give reviews that are positive, so needless to say I haven't been able to give any good reviews but Fred cotten's BBQ is the truth. I wanted ribs with a few sad wasn't quite sure what was on the menu. Carmen was a great help I ordered over the phone and was able to pick up in 10 minutes the food was hot and seasoned to my Southern twang liking. I was so impressed that once I went to pick my stuff up I ordered two more sides and a large sweet tea and everything was fresh. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air and if you like barbecue youll love Fred cottons BBQ, the restaurant what is very clean friendly and quaint not to mention a lifelike figure of Jake God old at the door to great you🤣☺️Karmen was such a delight I tipped her if like I was eating in. I will be visiting this restaurant a lot more frequently and they helped to restore my barbecue taste buds😊so to sum it all upif you want some really good barbecuethat's not dry or toughthen you need to go to Fred cottons BBQ

The chicken was dry ,it was the end of the day but thats no excuse and the sides were very small portionyed so not the best experience ,will give them another shot tho i like my B-B-Q 🤔🤔🤔

I ordered a slab of ribs, no sides. The ribs were tender but didn't have much flavor. You know how we do? Cotten's ribs didn't have the flavor I was anticipating, however they were tender so there's the option to take them home and liven up their taste.

Great local eatery offering delicious barbecue and great sides! We stopped in for dinner just before closing and the food was delicious. The potato salad is unique and tasty, the beans were saucy, and the fries were hot! The sauces are good, they offer regular and mustard and then hot versions of each. I recommend mixing the two flavors together for a sweet but also vinegary sauce!

I highly recommend! My Dad loved his 3 rib sandwich and fries and my chicken and veggies were great. And their original BBQ sauce is perfect. Will be back!

The ribs were super moist and very good. I’d eaten half my plate before I realized I hadn’t tried the sauce on them. The pulled pork sammich was also really good even without sauce! I’d definitely recommend trying the brussel sprouts, I don’t usually like them but I’d eat these every day. Our waitress was also awesome :)

Went to try their food today and first thing I noticed about the loaded potato when I had a bite was that it tasted old and like it had mold on it. i picked through the cheese and toppings and confirmed 🤦🏾‍♀️ I also had 1/2 chicken which was okay as well. The bbq sauce had potential but I’ll stick to Jenkins, Jerome’s or Mojos

Pretty tasty chicken & brisket. Ribs were a little overcooked. BBQ beans, delicious. Mac & cheese underseasoned, but good. The hot mustard was yummy!

We’re new to the area and checking out new BBQ joints, absolutely loved the atmosphere, service and food at Fred’s! We showed up , ordered for take-out and couldn’t have been more pleased. We will definitely go back and take friends and family there that visit! Didn’t get a chance to get pics of the grub cause I was so dang hungry, but we did get some of the menu… enjoy!

So this is an interesting place. What i really like is that it is clean and roomy. Nice decor. Now for the food. You get lots of it. Not great flavor. You have to add your sauces to your meats. Eh..i got the mac and cheese only to find out they make it all stove top (no oven) which means it was starchy. Hush puppies were slammin. The waitress told us all about feeling sad because her boyfriend of 7 years called it quits because of having too much gut and butt. Frankly we ate up her conversation more than the food. My take. Get an oven and serve cornbread! Jeez.

Good food with decent portions! Absolutely enjoyed the selection of sauces! Had a good home town atmosphere, but the dining area was a bit crowded with table seating placed so close together the staff had to slip between tables sideways. Could definitely use a bigger place, but other than that I enjoyed the experience!
