Stunned with condition of this particular Holiday Inn Express location. Start with the good: 1. Friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. 2. Free hot breakfast (cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy, muffins, cereal) 3. Quiet, safe location and about a mile from River City Marketplace The bad: 1. Air quality is not so great inside rooms. Feels a bit thick and dirty smelling. Even hallways and elevators are not properly cooled. Only ground floor lobby and dining areas are. There’s definitely mold throughout the rooms. 2. AC is not central but wall unit. Bed blocks airflow, making most of the room a tad too warm. 3. Cockroaches throughout the room. In a hotel. This is a first for me, and I’ve stayed in some dump of hotels throughout the years. If you see one there are a heck of a lot more nearby. 4. Parking becomes a challenge after 5pm. I had to wait for a spot to open. Staff very friendly. But the appearance of roaches, inadequate and dirty ventilation system, and too few parking spaces negates that. There are multiple other options literally right next door.

Horrible place. Reserved a room for a funeral. Got there around 930 pm. They had given our room away although they lied about it. Offered no real reason and offered no assistance finding lodging. Home 2 took us in with the last room they had after searching all around the area at 10 at night. They were fantastic helping us with our stay.

This hotel was in great location. As we entered, it had a nice fresh smell and was super clean. We stayed on second floor , elevator clean, and hallway beautiful. Our room was spotless (and I am really picky). The bed was good not great for my taste. Needs to be replaced. The reason for 3 stars was the breakfast - if that’s what you want to call it. We got there at 8:45-breakfast was until 9:30. Most everything was gone - what was in warmers (few scrambled eggs and biscuits) were scorched. Couple packets of oatmeal. No fruit. No cinnamon rolls, There were not even any plates, bowls only, Attendant said she didn’t want to make any food as probably no more people were coming, however, there were more coming and they had to ask for food. She finally brought out a few eggs and some bacon. Tried to blame it on supply also. If they are going to advertise hot breakfast until 9;30 , then that’s what there should be with no excuses. Other hotels are managing the “supply” issue just fine. Management needs to address this!!

Tanya at the front desk was awesome. Super kind and efficient. Avoid room 413 it smells really bad, but we were switched right away no questions asked. The beds are firm and very high off the ground or at least in the room we wound up with after switching. I'll update with that room number once we finish traveling. Cheers :) Update: the crazy high beds were in 423 and the hot tub wasn't working right the temp was at 98. I let Tanya know and she went to fix it right away I was just bushed from getting stuck there so I have up and went to bed. Cute pool area for sure.

I booked a night here last minute and I realized it was in the wrong location. I asked to cancel it within a couple hours and they refused. Don’t come to this place they just want your money. I would have even been happy with a credit but all they want to do it take money from hard workers. Do not book here there are plenty of great places near by. These guys are nothing but crooks. Literally no refund after a couple hours or credit? Shameful business practices.

Check in was super easy. It’s 5mins from the airport that was amazing for my 5:30a boarding flight My room looked real nice, until you look at the proximity of the bed to the AC unit?! Good thing I was solo!! And it was just loud. The ac made a noise all night even when it wasn’t running Lots of light came in from under the door. Like a lot a lot

These people make you feel just like family! I absolutely adore the entire staff at this hotel! Up until now, I only favored 1 other hotel in Jacksonville.. now I have 2 favored! The GM Heather is super, the housekeeping crew is awesome and always courteous, and I love the entire front desk staff dearly. Housekeeping has a staff member named Heather as well, and I must say, this lady goes above and beyond on a daily assisting anyone, and doing anything asked if her with no hesitation or second thought.. she's the greatest! Definitely don't hesitate to stay here.. the energy is amazing!

The entire building was very clean, not just the room. The staff is friendly and courteous. My only concern is the grounds around the building. I think it should be better picked up. (Cigarette butts) Maybe offer an afternoon snack along with the breakfast.

The rooms were average. Do NOT attempt to sleep on a pull out!!! The most horrible night ever! They moved us to another room for the next 2 nights and the bed was great! Service is awesome! Mario at the desk was very helpful and friendly. The fitness room is nice but needs ventilation. A fan. Anything. It's a sauna! An overall good stay and we plan to come back! I'll bring a fan.

As a decorated and disabled US Army combat veteran, I recently visited Jacksonville National Cemetery on Memorial Day, and I must say that the experience left an indelible mark on my heart. The hallowed grounds of this cemetery serve as a poignant reminder of the incredible sacrifices made by countless brave men and women throughout our nation's history. My visit was made all the more memorable by the clean and comfortable accomodations provided by Holiday Inn.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and two young daughters. The room wasn't bad but the building was very warm inside and when we got to our room it was very hot and the little window ac unit couldn't keep up. The water pressure in the sink and shower was low. We needed more towels and never got any wash clothes in our room, getting them was unusually difficult. House keeping didn't give us fresh towels the second day and I had to hunt down the staff for new ones. When asking the staff for new towels they acted like I was burdening them. The breakfast wasn't very good, there was a lot of variety but the quality of food was poor. Overall the experience wasn't terrible but not worth the money I paid.

My stay here (3 days) was awesome! Staff are so nice, VERY clean hotel, and my room was comfortable and relaxing. I had a room on the first floor, and I was worried that I would hear my neighbors upstairs, but I heard nothing. They have a nice Jacuzzi and pool, along with a decent gym room. Location is nice with numerous restaurants and shopping minutes down the street. Traffic isn't that bad either. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the JAX area for work.

Nice clean room. Needs a little updating, especially the jacuzzi tub. I'd suggest eliminating it! Staff was very professional and friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they don't offer dinner here, but a short walk next door to the Hilton garden will provide you with a quick bite and drinks. Must add the free breakfast offerings were plentiful and very good.

Very nice room! Front desk staff last night and this morning were very friendly and helpful! Breakfast this morning a whole different story Starts at 6 AM till whenever, 6:30 AM, juice dispenser is broken, no cold water, no coffee, Only disappointment of the stay. If you're going to offer it, you need to step up! Thankfully, Cracker Barrel was right up the street (and it was awesome as well).

All of the staff that we interacted with were great. No complaints at all. Our first contact let us check in ahead of schedule, which was convenient. However, the hotel was dirty. When we checked in at 1pm, there was a massive pile of crumbs just outside our room in the hallway, they were still there the next morning when we checked out. The lobby bathroom had throw up in the trash can and all over the floor with just a "wet floor" sign standing over it. The pool was disgusting. We couldn't even get in it because of how much debris was floating and also at the bottom, including a huge chunk of hair. One of the elevators smelt of throw up. Our room smelt like urine. I get that this isn't a five star hotel, but c'mon let's at least try.

The evening crew Russel and Tonya were great! Very friendly and helpful! Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a pool and fitness room also. Breakfast was great and had hot food not just cereal and bagels. Some of the furniture and fixtures are a bit worn out, peeling, ect... but this honestly wasn't a big deal to us. I look for clean, comfortable and nice and they did all that. Will be back when we visit Jacksonville again. Also less than 5 min from the airport!

I stay at Holidays Inns often and this one seems to be very outdated and dirty. The room had a smell to it and the bathroom was very dirty: stained tub, counter was dirty, floor wasn’t clean. The beds sagged a ton and I woke up with terrible back pain, but the pillows we great. I would skip this location especially at the cost. Breakfast area was clean and the staff was very nice.

Tanya was the best part of my day. She helped me find a room and get settled after a very frustrating day. Super friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a little tricky to get to and someone's car alarm was going off every few hours, but other than that we have zero complaints
