The First thing that should be considered is the difference between Hotel and Motel. Motels are generally used by travelers that need a break from the road and looking for a place to stay for a short time. They generally have more amenities and avg. $160.00 per night. A motel can accommodate a one night stay, but more often than not offer extended stays they avg. Less than $100.00 per night, and often offer breaks for work crews and such with a better rate. I have reviewed most of the reviews and been surprised. The Staff here are nice and try to accommodate there guests as well as possible. I would like to mention the following. If a guests utilizes any area for weeks too months often times with children or fellow travelers, they should take at least the minimum responsibility of maintaining there living area. Once a family or couple adults live in an area for weeks, they should practice the basics of responsibility and sweep a floor, Dispose of accumulated Trash as if at home. Here in North Florida we have many campgrounds and outdoor camping areas and as a rule adults should always leave these areas at least as they found them. If you feel that this minimum responsibility doesn't apply to you, as a native Floridian I would respectfully ask you to choose another State to enjoy your visits.

This location has undergone renovations and has improved significantly. The property is much cleaner than it used to be. The check-in was quick and the price was affordable. I stayed in room 260. The room felt like a one bedroom apartment. It's design is reminiscent of a fuselage; very sleek and very aerodynamic. There were a variety of colors through-out the room. The renovated rooms are a class above their predecessors. The staff and I had no conflict. My room was very clean. There was a kitchenette equipped with a full sized refrigerator, a microwave, coffee pot and a toaster. There was a phone and an alarm clock. There were extra towels under the sink in the bathroom, and there's a full body mirror placed across from the bathroom entry. I had two beds- both were comfortable. There's an A/C unit in the room that functioned much better than expected. I felt comfortable and safe. I felt that my privacy was respected. There were no disturbances, no unusual sounds, and no curious situations. I did not speak to any other hotel guest, but I felt no animosity or hostility in the air. There's a KFC right next to the property and a gas station across the street. The property is on a bus line, and there are a host of businesses on Baymeadows. This hotel is comfortable enough for an extended stay. I listened to the morning staff converse with one of the residents. The female manager? was able to offer a solution to a problem that the guest hadn't mentioned yet. I was impressed by the show of hospitality. The stay was pleasant. I'd recommend it to travelers and locals alike.

Do not stay here. Absolutely terrible experience. Had to switch rooms after opening the door to a horribly smelly room. The next one only smelled like someone smoked a carton of stale cigarettes in it. 3 pillows for 2 people is the company standard and you can't have any more. They would have to be taken from other rooms, per the GM who was in a shower cap with no bra on. Who also explained that they are pet friendly here, which is nice, except for the 2 80+ lb dogs who freak out at 6am right on the other side of the paper thin walls. The barely bolted down toilet on the bubbled up laminate floor in the bathroom makes for a interesting bathroom trip in the middle of the night. The door lock plate has more than obviously been kicked in before. And the mildew along the plastic shower wall inserts were one of the less concerning things on the list of what was filthy. Oh and the key quit working after one night. The level of professionalism, pride in the establishment, levels of service and cleanliness, and overall of this place are absolutely non existent. Will absolutely not recommend anyone stay here. There are a lot of other options very close by.

Even though it was newly renovated, the staff is destroying the rooms by not properly maintaining. My toddler found 2 pieced of unattached, dangerous hardware from the table and stove. Minutes after bathing, my kids were covered in black grime from the floors (absolutely disgusting). Floors like that bleed ink, so it may have been from the fake wood flooring, but after cleaning it sufficiently that should stop happening - but it seemed it was never washed at all. They were late with checking us in because they only had 2 housekeepers for the entire hotel that day. There was a big POOP to greet us in the walkway to our room. Generally felt unsafe, especially at night. Pros- comfortable bed, big room, sound proof.

Cheap for sure and near a freeway for easy access during traveling or to stores. Its a studio so has a mini kitchen, beds,a desk with a TV and a bathroom. Staff is okay depending on who you get a couple are nice and helpful others don't even take out ear buds and don't answer anything. They had water issues multiple times shutting off all water with no notice multiple times. Not nuts for a motel even studio 6 BUT the rooms are gross. First one the toilet didn't work nor did the burner do switched right away second room was missing a drawer, phone, towel holder and had a broken light. Those were minor annoying but not disgusting or unusable. There is mold/water damage, dirty unwashed bedding (washed it myself) trash left in the room from left guests and extremely dirty floors. Clean it ourselves and took about 5 washes before the mop pads didn't turn out black from the floors. Looked like not only had the room not been cleaned in probably a few guests but unhealthy with the mold. Even cheap motels shouldn't have that much damage.

Syvilla (GM) and Larissa (Training Manager) have gone out of their way to make this the best place to stay in Jacksonville. The rooms are like brand new after there renovations. I am in the process of moving here and one of my cars was stolen. Both of these ladies have been more than accommodating while I have been dealing w this. Again, a must see when your in Jacksonville!

I recently went to get a room for my husband and 8 month old twins for the month while we are waiting to move into our house. The General Manager assisted me and wouldn’t let me get a king bed so the babies cribs could fit in the room. She refused to accommodate me because if there’s 4 guest even babies have to have 2 queen beds. When I asked if there was someone upper that could possibly help me she said she’s the highest and they don’t accommodate for families or anyone it’s policy! I felt very unsettling and confused to what the big deal was. I would suggest not to come here if you have a family not a very welcoming environment.

Not a good area.. rooms look really nice though! If you're unfamiliar with the area (like me) you might be a little scared driving up to the actual hotel, lots of people walking around with no shoes, people living in their car, or sleeping outside at night. Good rates though, get what you pay for I guess 😅

I want to give a great thanks to the staff and GM. They have been very professional, friendly and understanding during my stay with them. The room interior is nice, comfortable and have space for personal belongings. Full refrigerator and store tops to cook. Anyone looking for a short or long term stay I would recommend looking into Studio 6 Expended Stay on Baymeadows. Thanks again Mrs. Outlaw

Clean rooms. Coffee pot, microwave, iron and board, full size fridge, cable, clean rooms, and wifi. Who could ask for more? Friendly staff. Steven was extremely courteous and patient with me. I LOVE this place. Quiet and peaceful as well.

Syvilla is a breath of fresh air she is the manger and she checked me in. She made me feel welcomed her customer service skills are amazing I can't tell you how many times I've came to a hotel and didn't feel welcomed since I've been staying here it's been nothing but relaxing quiet and peaceful rooms are comfy and cozy so if you're in town come stay at the studio 6

The staff is very friendly and professional. The manager Syvilla is the nicest and always helps when needed, no problem. Clean, and has nice shower, big fridge with freezer and room service any time. I would recommend staying here.

I was reading the reviews and there seems to be a lot of very bad ones that even an easygoing person like me might be afraid to stay. I have stayed at this hotel for about two weeks, during this period I had to extend my stay due to a delay in my move and they made the process of continuing my room very easy and simple. The room is very no frills but works well for what I needed it for. The kitchenette and full size fridge has been a nice touch considering the long stay. Literally my only complaint is that the lighting in the kitchen could be a little better. The bathroom is a nice size with a good size sink, decent water pressure in the shower but the toilet is a bit finnicky. Learned you just gotta hold the handle longer. The pool is nice, normally pretty quiet. Every guest I've spoken to or ran into has been very friendly. All staff has been amazing and I appreciate all the help they've been! Toni at the front desk was super nice and helpful 🙏

Y'all it is a motel 6, with that being said I had the best experience during my stay. The front desk attendants were always helpful, friendly, polite and above all, kind (especially Anessa). The team of employees at this location are some of the hardest working individuals. The weekly rates are economical and practical for the full- kitchen style studio rooms. This extended stay truly saved my boyfriend, dog and I from racking up debt/ hotel hopping after our rental applications fell through. Thank you so much Baymeadows studio 6 staff. And if the owners are seeing this, Anessa deserves a raise :)

I was hesitant to stay here after reading reviews of security at night, etc. But I am so glad I did! The rooms are very nice and clean, the location is perfect. Less than a 10 min drive to get anything you need and 20 mins from the beach! The staff was extremely helpful and so friendly, especially the manager Syvilla!! She goes above and beyond to make sure this place is nice and clean and everyone is happy! Security is amazing too, I feel safe here. 10/10 would recommend.

Great hotel for long term or short term with updated rooms. However, house keeping NEVER comes. Front desk doesn’t answer the phone and yeah cleanliness is like 2/10.

I booked a reservation online today once I arrived to pay for this room, Maria who was at the service desk at this time was very rude and unkind and she treated me in a manner that was very disrespectful. I told her that her behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate that type if behavior from her. Maria showed very little concern in trying to accommodate me as a customer in getting a clean and decent room. Afterwards I asked for my money back because she did not seem to care. Before today I have never had a problem with no one who work at this facility everybody else has been very nice and accommodating. SHAME ON YOU MARIA!

My partner and I came to stay here for a few nights and we had a fantastic experience. The rooms exceeded our expectations and we loved the decor. The staff was very accommodating, specifically we would like to thank Harley Miller for making our booking and stay as comfortable and seamless as possible. We will most definitely be back.

I first just wanna commend the hotel staff for how amazing they have been during my stay at studio 6 on baymeadows rd. The hotels stuff has went above, and beyond to accommodate me with whatever I needed or had any problems with. The rooms are very spacious and newly renovated. Free parking which is always nice. The pool is open and definitely has been a plus to the relaxing environment. I truly believe that this is definitely something to consider, when looking for an affordable extended stay hotel. I recommend with five stars this location.

To any expected visitors to Jacksonville do not, and I repeat, DO NOT make a reservation to Studio 6 at 8765 Baymeadows Rd., Jacksonville, FL, you will regret it… it is a disgusting stye of what an extended stay should be. My sister and I were staying here for two weeks and those two weeks have been the most unbelievable and unbearable. Reasons to not stay: 1.) When my sister and I checked in, the desk clerk was rude, and didn’t even bother to tell us where the room was located. We had to find it ourselves by driving around to look for the room, and finally after five minutes, we found the room. 2.) We finally got to our room, and it was a total lie and misrepresentation. The room had a musty smell to it, and it looked like the room hadn’t been clean for weeks. The bathtub was disgusting and dirty. Dirt stains were in the tub and we were tired from moving that day, so we laid towels down to just take a shower. As we looked more around the room, the floors were dirty and again it just wasn’t clean. 3.) BUGS! BUGS! BUGS! Our first night in the room, we killed at least 15+ bugs and more as our stay extended. We even told the desk clerk what was happening and the best solution was that a maintenance man was to come and spray the room, but of course, he never came and the desk clerk really didn’t seem to care. She had an attitude the whole time whenever we had any type of complaint. We had to buy our own cleaning supplies to clean the tub and we discovered it was clogged up and we bought Drano to fix it and finally it was working properly. Then we also saw the toilet was not clean properly at all; stains from the last guess, , and it smells like a gas station toilet. 4.) Housekeeping, never comes to the room and clean. This past Monday, on Labor Day, they knocked on the door and asked if we are staying overnight and when we said yes, they didn’t even ask if we want to clean sheets, towels, or for someone to clean the room. 5.) Apparently, daily items like toilet tissue, fresh towels, and fresh sheets are a luxury they don’t have here. This property doesn’t want to give fresh towels to the guests and they suggest that we dry the towels and re-use them. Disgusting!!!! 6.) My sister has sensitive skin, and we noticed the sheets were dirty, and they just flip the sheets over to “say” that we have clean sheets. 7.) The property is dirty and trashy, the walkways are dirty and grimy. This property says that they did a renovation, but where is it? Guests that bring their animals, leave the droppings outside and don’t properly throw them away. 8.) Lastly, the other guests are nasty and loud. On our first night, we heard so many people, yelling, screaming, and have no regards of other people. Kids running up and down the walkways, other guests, selling drugs and playing loud music, playing football at all hours of the night. Banging and yelling on the doors if they are locked out of their rooms and the front does nothing. I give this extended stay hotel and property a -5 star rating.

I stayed here for the first time and had a great experience compared to other extended stays. The front desk lady, I believe her name is Shakira was very welcoming and informative. I had questions about the parking and area and she was very helpful. The rooms were also very up to par. I would definitely stay again when I’m back in town.

I recently stayed in this location for a business trip and had a few issues in the first room I was placed, however the front desk agent Shakira and the maintenance guy were immensely kind. They moved me immediately and made sure all my request were met. The hotel could use a few upgrades but overall the customer service was outstanding. Thank you

Just want to say I really enjoyed my time here at Studio 6. The front desk lady, Shakira is a very nice and helpful young lady, she made everything easy, gave me the best customer service and was very polite. I had a good time experience here at the hotel. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

So the room was one of the nicest I've stayed in for AWHILE. looks like a remodel apartment. Has a legit stove top and kitchenette. Full sized fridge and microwave. Water is very hot and consistent. As for the staff , I will say they are very personable and persistent , Harley at the front desk and I also met a Robbie and Tea who have been nothing but nice and friendly. I would suggest anyone come here and I really mean that. Thanks studio six, it's been a game changer for sure all in all . I also met Ozzy the maintenance guy and again just very awesome all around . Thanks guys !

So first we got in a lil late and apparently the front office closed at 11 pm which I’ve never heard of. We could not check in. We had reservations and had to get another room someplace else for the night. We were not reimbursed either. On the second night a very rude young lady came to our door and said we were not supposed to be there; we had to show ID just so she would leave. Besides all that the room itself was impressive and I would definitely recommend. It was a great room. The amenities were top notch; coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator, microwave and a flat top stove!

Doesn't give any discounts for family members that have a love one in the Hospital that is having a surgery and it's an overnight stay for the patient and a discount would of been appreciated due to the expenses of being from out of town with traveling expenses already expensive, so a kind jester of 5-10% would of been appreciated. Understand that this motel doesn't give discounts...

My experience i like here its not that bad. Clean they mini kitchen in the rooms. I had any issues. The only concern I have security company. Sucks. They leave you can't find them they take off. Hour or two hours. After close office at 11 pm. Reopen at 9am. Daily hours. The rates fair per night. If you do longer stay. Rates way too high. For room here. Thanks 😊 🙏

Love this 6! Large fridge, microwave, two eye "Flat Screen" stove, lots of furniture, & a large bathroom! Don't see much that had to be renovated & room needed a thorough cleaning, by wife & I! German roaches were everywhere but called our friend RAID & in a couple days my wife stopped complaining! She even spotted a wad of my hair she combed from my hair she thought was a bug! I'm still laughing!!!

This place is interesting. So staff was ok very monotone. The room provided what was needed. Don't have to worry about any break ins. There's always something going on for the cops to be nearby. So yea decent would definitely go back for the price.

  • 1/5 Amber R. 1 year ago on Google
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone our stove didn’t work and we had to buy stuff to cook on because no one could ever fix it for the whole week we were here and we had to go to the office everyday to have our key cards fixed because it would mess up everyday. There are roaches in the rooms and maintenance never comes around to give you towels or new bedding the whole time you are there. The lady at the front desk told me and my husband with our two kids that we could only have 4 towels for the entire stay in this hotel. So no I do not recommend staying here for the price they are asking..

We are spending the weekend with my disabled, retired military father so we needed 2 rooms. We asked for one smoking and one non smoking room. We even called ahead to verify that my dad's smoking room would be wheelchair accessible. We arrive on Friday to be told that the only smoking room they had was on the second floor with no elevator. So basically my dad was out of luck for a smoking room, he had to go outside to smoke.....but he wasnt allowed to leave a chair outside. Our room was still on the second floor on the opposite side of the hotel, so we couldn't help bring the chair in and out. The swimming pool that looked pretty good in all of their ads and that my 4 yr old was so excited about spending time in was absolutely green and padlocked. No advanced notice that it was closed. Upon first inspection, the rooms look nice. They have full fridges with freezers, a full size coffee maker, a microwave, and a stovetop. However.....the ac in my dads room doesnt work and it has a funky musty smell when you walk in. He has two beds with only one pillow on each bed and the tv remote was broken. Our toilet barely flushes, and the fan in the bathroom is ridiculously loud. We brought most of this up to the staff who were cordial, but unapologetic and little to no help. Update: Saturday evening, after WE went back to the front desk to see about getting a different room for my dad, they finally had a room ready for him to move into. Housekeeping had JUST "cleaned" the room yet we found a dried pile of something gross on the floor by the refrigerator and the toilet paper holder was litterally ripped halfway out of the wall. If you stay here I would just expect something to be wrong with your room.

  • 1/5 Nancey J. 1 year ago on Google
You get what you pay for. Booked a non-smoking room but it smells like cigarettes. Dirty rags in the drawers, dirty coffee maker, broken lights so the room is dark. Stove is broken. It's nothing more than a place to sleep. Pretty nasty.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel it’s in a good neighborhood but the service is terrible there’s no amenities the staff doesn’t respond to your needs there was no towels in the room the water didn’t drain. And the first room that we had had flying bugs on the bed and in the window. They did not seem concerned.

  • 4/5 Brittany M. 1 year ago on Google
Recently I stayed here and was very impressed by how quickly I was able to check in to the room and there is no deposit as well which is also a nice bonus. Most of the places require deposits and it was not needed at this location. We can also pay cash here as well which is not like most places

We have had the honor of staying here at studio 6 baymeadows in the fabulous Jacksonville. This is by far the best motel I have stayed at and we travel for a living. The front desk clerks and polite and helpful. The housekeepers were on point. But when I tell you there GM made it her business to make sure she crossed every 'I' and dotted every "T" when it came to making sure us as guest were satisfied and made whole🙌. She doesn't need the be a GM. She needs to be a owner of her own property! She treated us like FAMILY and that means everything💚 If your here in Jacksonville stop by and booked your stay at studio 6 baymeadows!!!

Do not come here people in other rooms will bother you if you are a different color or race. Poor service everybody there is rude and has a problem with your skin color people spy on you walk by your room spouting racial slurs the most unpleasant experience I have ever had cockroaches in the room key ca4d don't work everything you knave and they gave us 2 towels for two weeks everything is way overpriced

It's ok place the people in the office are lazy and big liars.. guests pretty much do what they want to. Place has no rules and it's very noisy. I wouldn't stay again. I'll go somewhere else next time I visit Jacksonville

The tastefully renovated room was clean and presented well. The property unfortunately, was littered with trash, and is adjacent to a freeway --- not sure why they would give someone the room closest to the highway when the place was mostly empty.

Lots of drug activity. So bad they have to have an armed guard from 9pm until sunrise. Police rammed a room while there. First room was dirty, second one was worse. Staff is either great, Anissa, Travis, maintenance man and his wife, or they are horrible and your just a nuisance to them. Won't supply anything for you. The toilet paper you have in your room is all you'll get, supposedly there's a shortage. A year ago probably but not now. Spend your money somewhere else.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I worked in the hotel industry for 8 years and now travel and stay in hotels almost every weekend. The first issue I had was finding out no staff was on site after 11pm and don’t show back up until 8-9am. I had to dry off with the wash clothes because the regular towels were covered in hair and stains. The bathroom had hair and stains. The ceiling had multiple mold and water stains. No lighting in the kitchen. Debris on the floor. Hair all over the bed along with signs of bedbugs. I contacted the agency I booked through and was told the hotel wouldn’t refund so no I’ll also be reporting to the health department and better business bureau.
