Our server Noah, was amazing tonight. We came to Avondale for the event they were having and it stormed. We went into Mellow for some dinner. Lots of people and chaos but NOAH our waiter, stayed calm, everything came out on time. We never had empty drinks and our food was delish. It was packed in there but it was great! :)

The pizza is good… but why is there only 1 pepperoni per slice? For the price I paid for this pizza I feel like I got jipped. #freethepeps

Delicious food! I really enjoyed the Greek salad and my grandson was elated when they presented him with his own personal pizza!! We had a very nice server!! Will be returning.

Jake, the manager at this location of Mellow Mushroom, gives customers what they want: delicious food, served with smiling faces, in a fun atmosphere. In these days of hypercritical reviews, Jake takes the feedback, whether positive or negative, and uses it to improve the restaurant. As a point of reference, my husband was a loyal enthusiastic customer of the tiny hole-in-the-wall original Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta, GA, in 1974. so if he approves of the Avondale pizza, we can propose a toast to its continued success. Thank you, Mellow Mushroom, for hiring this outstanding young man!

I ordered food from Mellow via UberEats and upon delivery half of our order was missing. I called the restaurant to see what happened and the service and response I received was hands down some of the best customer service possible. Doug brought the missing items directly to us in minutes and did it with a smile. Bonus points—the food was delicious too! Thank you so much Doug for taking great care of us.

We came in last week for an early dinner. Were sat at a dirty table & booth. Non issue, I understand they were short staffed. Ordered brucetta, toast was burt on one side & soggy on the other. Jake seemed indifferent when told & didn't offer to fix. When the pizza came it was under cooked & burnt. We ended up spending close to $90.00 on food we ultimately threw away. Glad you are doing well, we like to support local, however, we won't be returning...

First time we ate here a few months ago, the food was good but it took 45+ minutes come out despite not being very busy. We were in the area today and decided to give it a second chance, thinking the first time was probably a fluke. Although it didn't appear to be that busy (multiple open tables) we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait "due to the kitchen." Hostess was nice about it, but we decided to go elsewhere. Probably won't be back ☹️

My wife Trish and I love to come in on Fridays and eat with Danny. We love the buffalo chicken pizza and a side of spud puppies. Danny introduced us to beers we thought we'd never try, and we loved them too. Sweet Water Blue is out favorite forever always now.

Stopped by to watch the Jags game and had a great time! The game day drink specials were an added bonus. Our bartender Vic was busy but still super attentive. I’ve been to Mellow several times but tried the Freshies pie for the first time this visit and it was delicious (my new go-to) and my friend got the mushroom pizza and said it was awesome. Happy hour during the week is also a steal especially if you’re a wine drinker!

This was my first time at Mellow Mushroom and it was great! The wait for the food was long, but worth it. I ordered two slices of pizza, and they were absolutely massive. (It is a much better deal to get individual slices instead of a whole pizza.) The price is reasonable considering how much pizza you get per slice. It is a great environment and very kid friendly!

Really grateful we chose Mellow Avondale to host our large party on the patio tonight. We had a really great space, wonderful servers with Seth and Reed (plus a few others who were awesome with setup and other help - my friend in the purple shirt!). Doug the manager was so helpful and kind making sure we had everything we needed. Haley was great at helping us pick a perfect menu for our 65 guests. Just a very 10/10 experience all around. Highly recommend!

Family dinner night one night. I was pleased at how quickly we were seated. We had a team of servers because one was new. The newbie was very attentive. Food was delish.

Emory's an amazing Bartender, but my Mom & I lucked out when "Z manager" served us @ the bar... he muddles a mean orange martini* He's an excellent addition to Avon Mellow. Oh yeah, HOLY SHITAKE!! Best pizza Ever & great vibes

I’ve always enjoyed coming to this mellow location. The food has never been bad, even when it’s been slow to come out. The vibe is always great, and customer service used to be pretty good. However, my experience tonight proved that the level of customer service has significantly diminished to the point that I’m not interested in returning. With the way the economy is, you should actually care about the customers that choose to spend their hard earned money at your location and support your business. The attitude, disrespect, indifference, and inattentiveness are not worth my money.

EXTREMELY horrible waitress today! A church group of teens with their parents trying to have lunch. Waitress approaches table with a very nasty attitude and asked for drink order. All kids were very polite & one asks for an appetizer order. Waitress raises her voice and says NO to appetizer order, it's too busy. This kid has a medical condition and really needed food. She was shaking and this awful waitress was making the situation worse by denying an order of food? At a restaurant? Everyone at the table was truly shocked at her abusive attitude. Things only got worse and this waitress went on to continue to attempt to humiliate and degrade this young lady when she was finally allowed to order her lunch by rolling her eyes, pausing to look around, asking her how she plans to pay (with her own credit card) and extremely rude behavior. Nobody at the table could believe this rude waitress and her hideous conduct. There was absolutely NO EXCUSE for this abuse. She thought she could get away with mistreating the teens because the parents were seated at another table and couldn't hear everything she was doing. While this teen girl ended up paying the entire tab on her own credit card, she had enough class to even tip this awful waitress who had been abusive. I wouldn't have. All 14 of us will never set foot in this establishment again.

Huge place. Comfy atmosphere. Nice selection of tap. Had the Golden Road Mango. Great summer brew. Ordered the spinach dip, tasty appetizer. Fresh Mozzarella with chicken. A little too much cheese for our taste, only a sprinkling of chicken. Loved the beer selection. Enjoy.

The pizza is always good here and the kids loved the old Avondale Fire Truck and climbed all over it before we ate. The kids crayon box is pretty cool too!

I came with a friend for dinner, out of the entire restaurant there were maybe 3 tables with customers yet for some reason it took 50 minutes to get our food which wouldn't have been as bad if our waitress had at least come to check on us periodically but no, out of the nearly two hours we spent here she spent about 5 minutes with us. I had to flag the waitress down for refills and after 15 minutes of waiting for her to "check if they had any tea left" I had to flag her down again. They only time our waitress seem half interested in our table was when she came collect our money and even that took another 15 minutes

We went the other night because we didn’t feel like cooking. As a New Yorker I am very particular about Pizza. The pizza here was good. We had the white pizza don’t remember the name from the menu but the pizza was good. We also had the wings and they were delicious. The extensive drink menu was outstanding and we are 1000% going back.

So me and wife went there for dinner on last night and the place was not even full. We got seated and it took FOREVER for our sever to even come . So Seth (server) came and took our drink order in which we ordered SWEET TEA. He brought the sweet tea out to us and stated …”By the way, I only have a half of pitcher left so I suggest that you make it last”. So my wife and I laughed it off but we were totally floored and upset about his comment. It was only 915pm and the establishment close at 1am. Dude didn’t even offer any alternative NOR came and check to see if we even wanted the half pitcher of tea! If we were people of the opposite color he would have not even made that comment and he would have offered a much better service / experience! We got the check and dude was just standing around waiting on my card. I’m told him I’m not ready yet! Needless to say he got a $0 tip! Customer service is NOT what it used to be!

This particular location is my boys' favorite spot. The old firetruck is really something special. It's a wonderful piece of old technology. The food and the service at this location are also wonderful, but I haven't had bad experiences at any of the Mellow Mushroom locations.

Came here for the very first time. Food was delicious. Emily was our waitress she was absolutely terrific. Hope to come back soon.

Excellent Mellow Location - We had a large family lunch at this location a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant management (Reggie) was very attentive and reserved multiple tables for us in the section that is similar to a sunroom. All of our food was excellent, and our relatives were highly impressed. Most importantly the service that Brie provided was top notch. I would highly recommend this location if you're anywhere near downtown Jacksonville whether you live here or are visiting. My personal favorite menu item is the pretzel bites (appetizer) with beer cheese dipper. Delicious!

Great atmosphere and a fun place to hang out, good food, friendly service! It's always fun when the huge windows are opened for some fresh air! The only negative was that everything seemed a bit dirty (ie. stains on booth chair, utensils/glasses/ plates seemed poorly washed, a few obvious cleaning spot oversights like small splatters on the walls, external sauce stains on new takeout boxes). Overall though, wonderful place! Our server was very friendly and made the experience all the better!

Mellow Mushroom - this location is a good choice for a pizza / you can also bring in your kids as they have a fire truck and they can play with. Pizza was good, as expected. Draft beer not as good as expected/ small glass though…. Bathrooms not as clean as they should. Workers complaining of staff shortage/ not a news this days. Overall a good place to eat.

Dropped by for lunch on our way out of town for a family vacation and we're very happy we did. The whole area here is really nice and the restaurant itself was excellent; the awesome food you expect from Mellow Mushroom and excellent service. Loved the cool firetruck table!

I’ve been coming to this particular Mellow at Christmas in Avondale every year! I usually limit my visits to just that day, but today I was over in five points and decided to stop by. I was immediately greeted by the host who was a tall young black man who smiled with such passion and spoke with such kindness, though I wasn’t able to catch his name. My food was on point as per usual, but I am writing this review which I seldom do because my server, Trinity was so kind and helpful, constantly checking up on my party and never letting our drinks go empty despite the fact that she clearly had a multitude of other things to do. The way she was working was so efficient, constantly bouncing around the restaurant wherever she is needed, and I feel the need to acknowledge hard work when I see it working in management myself. I’ll surely come back before Christmas in Avondale this year! I hope that someone sees this and gives Trinity and the host (who I feel bad for not being able to mention by name) the appreciation she deserves because again, I don’t often write reviews. Great job by everyone at this location!

Christian was awesome! We celebrated my grandson’s first birthday and he really made us all feel special!

I had only ever had Mellow Mushroom once before in Alabama. This place offers good pizza with a good wait staff. And if you like collecting pint glasses as I do, you can purchase one to take home.

I'm 1/3 had a great bartender and a burger, it was amazing, then I have come back twice, and it's meh, Greek salad was actually a garden salad, so little tomato olives cheese way to much lettuce and green peppers, the second burger was cool and soggy bun. Other bartenders were not excited didn't care to ask how the food is, also didn't know really how to pour a Guinness came close.

The food was delicious, atmosphere quieter than I've experienced recently, which I appreciate, but the service was OUTSTANDING! I am sorry that I do not recall our server's name, but she was on top of things like I haven't seen since before the pandemic practically lowered our expectations of quality service. We hope we expressed our appreciation sufficiently by means of the tip.

Food is great, but if you end up having to sit in the bar area due to seating issues. Do not expect the same service, the patrons sitting at the bar / does who have been in the restaurant longer get priority. 1 family is not as important as the several siting at the bar ordering drinks. Sorry that's just our experience.

We had great service, but I've had better pizza at other locations. The wings were slimy. The pretzel bites were the best thing I ate. I'm inclined to dine at locally owned pizzerias, but we were attending a Christmas party.

I’ve been to many a mellow and even worked at one. I live close by and visit this location often. In comparison to other mellows this location has a more corporate vibe and a little less of the “Stone Baked” pizza vibe. Can’t miss the happy hour wine though; super affordable.

Jake was an awesome server for a large party. Very effective in making sure the food and drinks were never empty. THANKS for the amazing service that made our evening run smoothly. Food was fantastic as well!

Jake was the coolest server I’ve ever had. He gave us some of the most quality life advice ever. He reminisced on long walks on the beach and good times. I’ll be telling my kids that he was one of the most important theologians of our time.

The food is just not good at all! I've tried appetizers, wings, and pizza and they are seriously just barely ok. Today they did not have wings available. They did not have the cobb salad available either and they just brought out whatever salad they had. I felt bad for my boss who really didn't get his first 2 choices. My pizza came out about 10 mins later than everyone's food. Just a terrible experience for a place that has the most mediocre food to begin with. I avoided this place for our work lunches and when we finally thought to give it a try again...it was as disappointing as I always thought, so it's off the list for our work lunch rotation again.

We had an event for our organization and Dillon did a fantastic job managing all the moving pieces of 35+ people!
