Another hidden gem. Stopped by for brunch while visiting Jacksonville. Order at the counter and have a seat. Food: Caprese Panini Brunch Toast I had the caprese, and it was delcious. I don't usually eat all of my food, but in this case, I did. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. Tupac had the Brunch Toast, and he too enjoyed his meal.

The desserts are outstanding. There’s plenty to choose from too! I ended up ordering the shrimp curry special and a peppermint mint mocha drink. My wife ordered the oatmeal with dried fruits. We had to wait a little longer than expected but it was worth it. We will come here again.

Always love eating here. Great food! Service can sometimes be iffy, not everyone will ask whether you've received everything before taking away the number and it's created some confusion before and we were incorrectly charged once, but overall, most of my experiences are positive.

Extremely cute little coffee shop / cafe. We visited for breakfast on a quick vacay with the girls, and loved this spot. They loved watching the train go by from the back patio, and we locked the coffee. The breakfast was also really yummy too. The staff taking our order was very nice and helpful, and even suggested adding the fried egg on the avocado toast, which I didn't know was an option, and that made me very excited.

Update: Feb 2023 Still a great spot!!! Been stopping here since the first review and I have not had any complaints on the quality of the food/drink offerings and the friendliness/helpful staff. will keep coming back :) ***I hate to say it BUT another coffee shop in Jacksonville that has an open layout, modern (industrial-ish) look and beers on tap...yippee (sarcastically) 👎🏼 LOL, I better get this ish on a different tone before them coffee loving friends of mine find me and slap me silly. Seriously, I can see myself frequenting Southern Grounds. As this was my first visit and having read many reviews and seen pictures posted by many Yelp friends, I had a little bit of an expectation.....and that was exceeded as soon as I walked in. Place is much bigger than I anticipated and it was very nicely done. Clean and very roomy :) Menu is impressive (especially for a “coffee shop”) and the dessert/pastry display case held quite a few and very tasty looking cakes. I ended up with the Lox & Cream Cheese and, I’ll be honest, it’s not the best one I’ve had but it’s very good. I can’t decide if it’s better than Community Loaves or not though. Gonna have to have one of each again to decide :) Staff was friendly and accommodating, very patient as my wife and I took a minute or two to decide what to order Definitely will be back!

The food comes in a good portion, it's very high quality, delicious, and always a good temperature. The bacon is especially tasty. The espresso is great. The staff is very kind and helpful, they deserve your tips. The atmosphere is filled with artwork and feels very cozy, it's nice for studying/working. There is a lovely outdoor seating area that has plants and animals, it's adorable to see squirrels and song birds enjoying the place as much as I do!

This place has great coffee, great food and great service. The only downside is the train honking its horn coming by since it's right next to the rail tracks.

Love this location because of how warm, inviting and how many seating options there are from couches, cushioned chairs with cute pillows, window seats, outdoor dining with gold string lights covering it- definitely the cozier of the three in Jax 🛋️👌🏻 The breakfast sandwich on a croissant was too good. I asked for a 20oz coffee with less ice, I got mainly all ice with the coffee below the top of the cup, which I paid for a 20oz but got a small amount of coffee. Didn’t want to make a big deal of it but was disappointing to get less coffee than I paid for.

Good date spot for a casual feel. Our food was delicious. Plenty of seating indoor or outdoor. Fresh pastries and coffee also. The cheesecake looked really good, but you may have to dip into your savings for a slice. If you’re on a tight budget, they do have other desserts that won’t break the bank though. Overall, we enjoyed it.

Came here on a brunch date and got the carrot cake and a pecan pie bar. The bar was to die for. Highly recommend. The parking is a little tight, and the atmosphere is good if you’re in college and need a place to study. The pictures made it seem a bit more formal than expected. Good overall. Will come back for the pie bar again.

Great outdoor vibes next to the railroad track with a large seating area. Staff is friendly and they serve various foods and drinks for kiddos and adults (alcohol, hint). We ordered the “3 Eggs with a Pancake” and a “California Bagel”. The omelette was good but the grits were plain (as in, no seasoning at all, not even salt) and were also cold. The pancake taste was good but the underside was bit too toasted, making the pancake hard to cut and feeling more like half cake, half cracker when I’d bite it. The California Bagel was good. Spent $30 in all without any drinks or add-ons. It’s a great place to come with friends and sit and chat, but I wouldn’t come here just for the food. I’d come mostly for the vibes.

Can’t go wrong with this coffee shop! Relaxed, easy to unwind with a colleague or a casual date.. food’s tasty and service is decent. They also serve some local wine. Quiet and a good find. More like an upscale Pandora but less crowded..

Southern Grounds in Jacksonville, FL, left me impressed! The cashier's kindness added a warm touch to my visit. The Caramel cookies were a delightful treat, perfectly complementing the rich and flavorful matcha latte. The cappuccino with cardamom vanilla syrup was a unique and tasty experience. A must-visit for coffee enthusiasts!

The place is cute, it has a pretty great vibe when you walking in. People dining in appeared to enjoy their visit, regulars that walked in also seemed to have good rapport with the staff, it wasn't that for me unfortunately. No one greeted me when I walked in, the menu is large and kind of confusing between the coffee options, food options and then separate dessert options, the person behind the counter didn't seem to want to engage or answer any questions. It was my first time in, I was excited to try out the bakery items, but my experience with the staff member left me feeling out of place and as though I didn't belong. It was a pretty stale experience for a first time, it left much to be desire. The bakery goods were yummy though, I had a Earl Grey cheesecake and a Nutter Butter which I took home to share with a friend. The cheesecake was pretty good, my friend really like it, the texture was nice and the flavor was great, I personally just realized tea flavor and cheesecake aren't it for me. On another note, if you like Nutter Butters, go here, get this, it was delicious, flavorful, sweet but not too sweet, I'd go back just for this. As a side note, the bakery items are from a bakery within the establishment called Blueberry Bakery which will be moving to another location shortly, if your going for the baked goods like me.

Good coffee and food. Ordered their goat cheese sandwich and their key lime blueberry tart. The tart was delicious!

Yum. I came to Jacksonville for work and needed a cafe I could sit at with my laptop and enjoy some breakfast. This place has great daylight and open seating AND my yogurt parfait with local honey tastes fresh and delicious. So fulfilling on a Tuesday morning. ❤️

This is such a cute little place. It gives you a café feel. The staff was friendly, and efficient. The food was delicious. I ordered 2 pancakes and 2 sausage patties and cooked just the way I like. Pretty clean, and fun atmosphere.

Breakfast burrito and blueberry muffin (Not pictured) was good. Went back for dinner after my infusion and appointments and got the Chicken Ancient Grain Bowl with Shrimp and the Sweet Potato Steak Bowl. Very delicious, but I give it 4 stars because I didn’t get the sauce and the avocado on my bowl and was not informed of it.

First time here. Busy at lunch. Mango smoothie was refreshing. If you don't drink coffee, you'll be limited in beverage choices. Had the steak frites. Steak bites were cooked medium and had a nice meat sauce on top. Fries were hot and extra crispy just how I like it. Arugula salad with red onions had a fresh tart dressing that was light. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating when the weather is moderate. Would go back.

Amazing quality food. The Korean steak was mouth watering with a high quality steak definitely not skirt steak. Finished the meal off with in house baked goods. Strawberry and lemonade tart was excellent!

Super delicious breakfast, very fast service. Amazing coffee. Friendly staff. Busy in the morning. Hard to get a parking spot. But worth every penny. So good breakfast.

I decided to try it out and it's now my new happy place! I am not a coffee drinker or pastry person but they actually have a big menu! We ordered lunch in the morning and it was perfect! The only sketchy part of our visit was parking and trains. You most likely will park across the train tracks. You also might wait for several trains lol like us. It was a little pricey too but it was worth it to me. The outdoor seating was really nice.
