This review is for the Abalone food truck! We didn't have time for the tour, but was able to try fresh abalone here. Ordered the Sea salt & lime, Hawaiian sea grapes, and Abalone sashimi. All were delicious and very fresh. Would highly recommend if you like seafood/oysters. Truck hours as of 7/16/2023 are: M-F 9am-330pm, Sat 10am-3pm.

May 2023: Took a tour of the abalone farm that was a super fun and educational experience 👍. Carlos showed us all about the abalone farm. It was interesting to see how the abalones are fun creature who run away from the sunlight, eat a lot of seaweed, and need water at a precise specification to thrive. All very educational! We also got to see how the seaweed is grown. Very fun and educational experience!

I was looking for the beach and found abalone! This review is for the food truck. I got there late in the day or I would have booked a tour. Thank goodness I was hungry. This was not an inexpensive dinner but I had to try it all. Value wise, the poke was great and had a satisfying Unami mouth feel. You also get a lot for the price of the steamed abalone. I had to try the sashimi and it’s priceless. I will be back.

Great tour of the abalone farm! We booked the tour online and it costs $25 dollars per person (a bargain considering the high cost of other similar tours). The tour is well organized and interesting. We visited the farm, nursery, algae farm (food for abalone). We also took pictures holding some sea urchins and abalones. You’ll also get to taste one grilled abalone as part of the tour. They also have a lunch truck outside and I definitely recommend try it out! Super delicious

Cooler than I expected! We got to learn all about the process of the US's largest abalone farm, see the facilities, learn about the lifespan and history of these fascinating creatures, see other cool creatures. Taste seaweed, taste cooked abalone, and take a shell home! All in about an hour for $25/person plus tax.

I took the abalone tour and it was the best tour I ever been on! Carlos was our tour guide he was so knowledgeable and passionate I really learned alot! And as someone who generally doesn't really like tours I really loved this one! It was incredibly fascinating and extremely educational! You get to touch and hold the abalone and other lil sea creatures, you get to taste the delicious seaweed that the abalone eat a great superfood along with the seagrapes that are also a superfood annndd you get to try the abalone!! I was just blown away! I highly recommend to take this tour, if you could only do one tour while on the big island THIS IS THE ONE! and definitely don't skip out on getting some food from the food truck after, it was the best abalone I ever had and the way the prepaid it was soo delicious!! I can't wait to go back and try their new grilling station! You buy fresh seafood from them then you get to grill it yourself! They offer different spices and even have drinks and sake you can buy to pair with the seafood...I would have gladly paid $50 or more for this tour with all the knowledge and information and tasting you get to experience would make it well worth it! I will definitely be telling all my friends and family to take this tour because out of all the tours we did this was the best one, we had such a great time!! And don't be shy to take pictures! I wish I would have taken more haha

The farm tour was great! Carlos told us the history of farming abalone and how it came to Hawaii. We saw each step of growing the mollusks and their food. We got to hold the other creatures that get filtered out when the ocean water is pumped in, and we got to taste abalone. It was a lot of fun!

Carlos was a fantastic tour guide about all things raising abalone. You'll get to see and touch a live abalone as well as other sea creatures, learn about the farm and their work, and even sample and freshly steamed abalone at the end of the tour. They also have a food truck where you can grab lunch after the tour.

Randomly passed by this on our way to the seahorse farm and salt farm. Just hit the food truck and it did not disappoint! A picnic table, 14 steamed abalone and two beers later - we loved it.

👍👍 This beach offers a very calm and shallow sandy area as well as a rough high wave rocky area. Snorkeling opportunities here are great. Tons of fish and sea slugs to view in the shallow areas. Waves can get very high and rough the further out you go so take caution when exploring outwards.

👍👍 Such an incredible tour! Very informative on the history of this place and what they do. Highly recommend this tour. Bonus side note is that most who work here and run this place are women. We learned not only about sea salt, but Hawaiian history.
