Such
a
calm
quite
green
place,
a
reservoir
sorrounded
by
small
hills.
The
place
is
perhaps
not
much
known
to
the
international
tourists.
Kaeng
Krachang
dam
is
located
in
Phetchaburi
province
at
the
West
of
Bangkok
around
200
km
drive.
58
meter
high
Kaeng
Krachan
dam
holds
750
million
cubic
meter
of
water
for
protecting
flood,
facilitating
irrigation
and
producing
20
mw
hydro-power.
At
the
moment
the
lake
is
full
to
its
brim
due
to
heavy
rainfall
in
Thailand
and
adjacent
Myanmar.
Many
of
the
camping
and
tourist
facilities
have
gone
under
water
but
rain
has
multiplied
the
pristine
beauty
many
folds.
The
lake
surrounded
by
deep
green
mountains
is
very
scenic.
The
dam
itself
is
an
attraction
having
water
level
much
higher
on
one
side
and
human
habitation
at
low
level
on
the
other
side.
Boat
trip
is
a
good
option
to
enjoy
the
heavenly
beauty
of
the
hills
and
the
lake,
monkey
attack
being
little
scary
surprise
yet
bonus.
Jet
ski
is
also
available.
Road
trip
through
surpentine
mountain
roads
is
also
a
great
option
to
enjoy
the
beauty.
Though
it
is
only
200
km
drive
from
Bangkok,
it
takes
3
to
4
hours
at
the
minimum
due
to
heavy
traffic
on
the
highway.
Friday
evening
shower
and
Bangkok
traffic
made
it
worse
for
us.
Finall
when
we
approached
Kaen
Krachan
national
park
roads
it
was
deep
dark
and
scary.
Long
way
we
drove
just
alone
not
meeting
any
other
vehicle.
Finally
when
we
reached
our
destination
it
was
almost
mid-night.
We
found
the
hotel
reception
close,
had
to
call
and
wake
up
the
owner
for
check-in.
Afterall
its
not
new
for
us.
Now
enjoying
the
sun
and
rain
playing
on
the
lake
and
mountain
from
my
bed
being
inside
cosy
blanket
we
brought
from
home.
