It was a very informative and educational tour about Seahorses. This little guys need our help to continue to survive. At the end of the tour you get to hold a seahorse. It’s about 90 minutes long but you will have an amazing time.

Great experience with people working to make a difference for ocean life. The admission price seemed high but no regrets after the tour. This is an effort worth supporting.

What a unique experience! Definitely focused on seahorses but you learn a lot about them while on the tour. Of course the highlight of the tour is actually getting the seahorse to latch on to your fingers. You cannot let them buy they put the seahorse so it latches on to you. Really cool to see them up close. Totally worth the cost of admission. The things in the gift shop aren't too pricey either. If you're on the island this is definitely a must do. I don't know where else you'll be able to do this.

I absolutely love Ocean Rider! Their sea horse conservation is such wonderful thing for our oceans and delicate sea horses. Don't miss this tour! It's amazing what you'll learn and you get to have a seahorse latch on to your fingers at the end. There's also a touch tank and fantastic gift shop. 💙

Very enjoyable hour spent visiting this seahorse farm. Guide did a good job educating us about these animals. They gave us time to interact with the seahorses and observe… They also have a small on site aquarium to view some of the larger ones.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island (along with the Octopus farm Nextdoor). We learned so much about it seahorses, got to feed some, got to touch a few. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Huge shoutout to the very knowledgeable staff who taught us so much about these amazing creatures. You HAVE to come here if you are on the Big Island of Hawai’i

My family and I (grandparents, mom, dad, a 11,8, and 5 year old) scheduled this as our last experience for the last full day on the island. What a way to end the trip!!! We saw baby sea horses, one tank where they looked just a day old! We got to dump food in and see them hunt, and to end it all hold one! I went in wondering if it was too much to pay and would be a let down, but every one of our party loved it. You get to learn about sea horses and watch them. My 8 year did not deal well with the waiting to see the whales come up on the whale watching tour, but this was constant sea horses and didn’t require a lot of waiting with nothing to see. And you’re supporting the conservatives of this endangered animal!

Danny was a great guide - very knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Hawaii. Come support our seahorses!!

Sadly, this did not make me like seahorses more. Expensive tour of a commercial sea horse farm. Yes, they sell all those sea horses to aquarium stores. And the hour long tour (45 minutes too long?) lacked imagination. You and 50ish others at a time. Probably cheaper for me to set up an aquarium and buy a pair than take the fam there. Big blue tanks made me sad.

What a blast! Our guide was excellent!! Knowledgeable and enthusiastic! We learned so much about Sea Horses - a very fun experience!

Fantastic and informative tour about the endangered seahorse and Ocean Rider's efforts to breed them to prevent their extinction from being fished in the wild. You'll learn everything you want to know about seahorses and even get to feed them and hold one. Our tour guide (Erica?) was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Highlights include: seahorse babies in the nursery, leafy sea dragon tank, and holding a seahorse.

We took a tour here and it was super cool. The tour is a bit overpriced in my opinion, but if you are a big seahorse enjoyer I would recommend going anyway. You get an awesome opportunity during the tour to hold seahorses. It’s so cool seeing them at their various stages in life. This tour is very informative. Great for children and adults alike.

Tour was informative and you could tell everyone was very passionate about their work. Neat to see different types of seahorses in all stages of life. Tour was a little pricey but you are supporting a good cause. This made a good activity for our last day before flying back to the mainland.

Very impressed with their operation, it was awesome to learn from our host witch was very knoleggable, respectful and well spoken, it showed that they really cared for the little seahorse fish, and educated us on different aspects, from sustainability to biology. I wish there was more time to spend at the close encounter with the seahorses, but it was a great value.

Would not do it again and can’t ethically recommend it. This place farms seahorses for profit to sell as pets. They specialize in the domestication of seahorses. And then charges $70 per person to hold a seahorse and calls themselves a non profit. And the kids giving the tours are young, just new to the island and job and have basically read a handbook and give the tour.

We have been to the Big Island 3 times and I've always wanted to tour the seahorse farm. My husband has been reluctant but this time, he agreed reluctantly to go with me. It was super cool; Danny was an informative and interesting guide. After we left, my husband said, "That was pretty cool"😎. Great way to spend an hour or so. Totally recommend it 😊

A great educational Seahorse Farm tour is offered. It's a bit pricey, but you do get to have a Seahorse cling to your hands formed like a coral reef structure. Seahorses are one of life's mysteries of the sea, so we indulged. Tour guides are passionate about their work.

Great tour and information about Seahorses. Feeding and holding them were the highlights

This place is a scam. Over 40 people here booked for the 2pm tour. It’s 2:20 and no one in sight. Gates are closed. I realize things are on Hawaii Time but this is a completely ridiculous operation not worth your time or money.

I loved this place. They're doing amazing work to help conserve seahorses (every species of which is endangered). The tour guides were amazing and knowledgeable. It's clear they care very much about the seahorses they are raising, and you get to see baby seahorses, and they do allow you to hold one. Thank God for places like this--places that are working so hard to care for our oceans and the creatures that inhabit them. Bravo! Thank you!!

We loved this tour! Jim was a great guide, and it was fun to hear from a biologist about the research being done. He was very knowledgeable in his field. It was so fun to be able to hold a seahorse- only place in the world!! (according to Jim) It is a bit steep pricewise for what it is, but I felt okay about spending money to further the research and breeding being done at the facility. Unfortunately the sea dragons were under quarantine while we were there, so we couldn’t see them!

👍👍 This beach offers a very calm and shallow sandy area as well as a rough high wave rocky area. Snorkeling opportunities here are great. Tons of fish and sea slugs to view in the shallow areas. Waves can get very high and rough the further out you go so take caution when exploring outwards.

👍👍 This review is for the Abalone food truck! We didn't have time for the tour, but was able to try fresh abalone here. Ordered the Sea salt & lime, Hawaiian sea grapes, and Abalone sashimi. All were delicious and very fresh. Would highly recommend if you like seafood/oysters. Truck hours as of 7/16/20...

👍👍 Such an incredible tour! Very informative on the history of this place and what they do. Highly recommend this tour. Bonus side note is that most who work here and run this place are women. We learned not only about sea salt, but Hawaiian history.
