Dirty, scary, smelly, unsafe. When we arrived around 9PM there was a group of people loitering near the side door smoking and drinking with the door to the building propped open. There were no elevators so we had to lug everything up a flight of stairs. The room had no door lock and smelled foul. The TV had a dried liquid substance on it, walls and floor were filthy and stained, and the bathroom had no toilet paper holder and smelled like cat urine. The only positive was the front desk staff; she was so kind and sweet, I felt bad complaining but at the end of the day we didn’t feel safe there and it was way too dirty.

I didn't actually end up staying here. Had a really hard time getting ahold of them to confirm details before my trip. When I arrived, the outside looked abandoned. When I went in, the entryway smelled like cigarette smoke and appeared to be under construction. There were four people (who I assume were employees) in the lobby, and they completely ignored me. I didn't wait around very long after that and found accommodations at another hotel near by. Location to the airport was nice though.

Don’t do it! Stayed one night at this scary hotel. The ceiling in our room was waterstained and falling in, mirror and walls were filthy with globby stuff all over, there were hand prints all over the room that glowed in the dark, the shower didn’t work correctly and the room smelled bad. We slept with the window open to air it out, but their weren’t any screens. Either make repairs or close it!

I don’t know how anyone rates this above 1 star. I guess it is cheap and o should learn that I get what I pay for. In this case, it was not worth the $70 I paid for a night. The place is dirty, run down and just creepy. It claims there is a breakfast but a wrapped muffin that looks a few years old is not breakfast. Do not stay here. Do not be tempted by the price like I was.

The rooms were ok at first glance, and then my buddy opened the sheets and found dried blood stains on the bed. The staff were quick to change them and apologize but it doesn't change that the sheets weren't changed BEFORE new guests checked in. The vending machines were empty and the continental "breakfast" was cereal and awful tasting "juices". The pool was good until a bunch of unsupervised teenagers came sprinting in and dived into the pool repeatedly, making everyone uncomfortable because they kept running out the open side door and jumping back into the pool near people.. And the pool has broken steps with a sharp edge, so swim at your own risk. Don't waste your money. It's just not worth it.

This was the most disgusting motel you could possibly ever imagine. Mold around the toilet, bugs in the sink, the bathroom floor was so sticky you could feel and hear your shoes being stuck to the floor as you walked. The dry wall and plaster was broken above the shower. The shower was supposed to be white but was light brown. The paint on the walls was thinning and chipping, broken floor tiles in the lobby. There were stains on all the linens and the walls. The remotes where missing the back part that holds the battery in, they didn’t work for the TV. Do not stay here.

All the reviews on here where the company said stuff would be fixed, still hasn't been fixed besides the pool worked. Didn't get much sleep due to little kids running up and down the hall and being loud until around 1am. Then heard someone pounding VERY loudly between 4am-5am. No sign even saying where the elevator is located. People hanging out in the halls and stairs. Door was propped open the whole time where anyone off the street could walk in. This place definitely needs to be shut down as soon as possible or just put on their website that it's used for people who's homeless or whatever.

You get what you pay for. Room hadn't been cleaned when we checked in. It was gross. Window has no screen and children could easily climb out on the 2nd floor. Smoke and weed odor throughout floor, cigarette holes in sheets, no trash bin for guests. Someone had written on the mirror and it wasn't all cleaned off. Large gauges in the walls, flies, teenagers banging on doors.

Not even close, requires two hands to pull front door opened, room needed light bulbs on entry to room, closet doors don’t work, not even on tracks, shower leaked, advertised breakfast 6-9 with “ hot breakfast” at 6:10 lights were still off , only thing employee had available was cereal an 2- 1/4 gallons of milk and nothing else. Both vending machines were empty except a couple bottles of water but signs on both machine said Machines Broken, elevator was also closed “ Out of service” why bother having it opened was definitely not worth the $128.00 we paid through Expedia. Been in other Days Inn and never had this poor a place . There were no amenities at this place just horrible ,

Bums outside, messy in the inside, the halls were disgusting and smelled, had leaves and dirt. Found a cockroach in the bed, it wouldn’t die. Unwashed sheets and bed, dead ant in the bed and random hairs and dirt on sheets. Seems like only the blanket was cleaned.

The staff was very friendly and pool was great for the kids. The beds were very comfortable and even after our friends broke a lamp in their room the staff didn't make us pay for it.

NO MORE of the good a** BREAKFAST they used to have. They had some stuff but what very little they did have wasn't kept up past 45 minutes. ~~~~ • ❌NO more waffle station(which u made urself anyway [was my favorite])🤯 • 😶‍🌫️ • ❌ • No more bagels/toast per toaster removal🤯 • ❌ • pre-wrapped muffins ❌Bye bye fruit & cottage cheese------ ~~~~~~~~~~~I truly cannot express how tired the little breakfast food looked. And if you ask him they will say yes we still have breakfast absolutely‽ I would say at least 75% of the people I've ever spoken to at that hotel said that they booked there because of the breakfast so it just blows my mind. ****The rooms are adequate and fairly clean, but without the banging a** breakfast I'll never book a room or recommend it EVER. SORRY guys

After reading the reviews, I thought the place can’t be that bad, but when we got there I should have listened because it WAS that bad. It was so horrible that we ended up canceling our reservation and stayed at another hotel. Lobby was dark when we came in, it looked like it was abandoned at first. As soon as we went to our room, there was a strong moldy smell that was overpowering and there were cracks on the walls. The linens and towels were dirty and our AC wasn’t working. We tried getting service to get it fixed but nobody ever came. Thank goodness we left as soon as we could.

Worst hotel I have ever been to. Rooms didn't look like they say. Neither did the pool area. Rooms where a mess. Nasty floors nasty service. Asked for extra pillows and got them 3 hours laster with no pillow cases. I have pictures wish I could upload them. Cleaned the floor with one of their wash clothes it was nasty black when got done washing the floor. No plastic liner in the shower. No towels in pool area. Freezer in room was froze so bad you couldn't fit anything in it. Wish I could get my money back because youd have to pay me to stay there again.0/5 stars

Absolutely disgusting. Stayed here as a last resort and wish I would have slept in my car. All my clothes reak like old smoke now and woke up with a killer headache from the mix of uncleanliness and thirdhand smoke. The rooms are being occupied by what I can only assume are addicts, who kept me awake for the majority of the night by slamming doors and stomping down the hall. The parking lot is filled with tweaker cars and it is apparent people occupy these rooms permanently. Pay the extra 40 for a nice room or sleep in your car. You will be disappointed.

All of the staff needs to learn english so there is no miscommunication. There was a gang sign on my door. The tv had black mold behind it. Looked like it was pulled out of swamp water. My lights were so dull. And went out within a day of staying. I plugged in my room hair dryer and it caught on fire. My ceiling was black stained. My walls had black mold as well. My carpet was torn up. Constant kids running upstairs and up and down the hallway. There was blood on ghe hallway floor as well as womans underwear. The pool is cold and not heated and closed most of the time. Laundry i beleive might have roaches. Staff watches you like your stealing. But yells at you in arabian so all you can do is say ok. The cleaning lady would listen to my conversations from her room with the plants window fully open her watching me until i went back in and her hanging out the window listenjng and being nosey to my conversations everytime i went outside From 5am to 4pm the maintenance is on duty and they are very aggressive with cleaning they knock on your door 3 times even very early in the morning. If no answer they will open your door and let themselves in. And they dont give you much time to answer before they barge in. Even if you talk to them theg still open your door. No matter how locked you have it. They also hound you to get out hours before check out time and stare you down with rude looks until you leave. Maintenance here is no joke like a prison ward. If you make a reservation might as well learn arabian because they will mess it up and kick you out on a day you paid for but in their system it never existed talk about stealing money and very rude staff. As well as no privacy and maintenance has all rights to go through your things if your gone and enter your room. I dont recommend staying here. Its nothing but crooks all the way around

Very poor selection for breakfast and no replenishes the food either. Dark and dinigy room (111). Dirty and soiled lamp shades. The sheets have stains and marks from pens and markers. The advertised price was different from the invoice price when I checked out. I notified my credit card company.

I stayed at this same hotel five years ago and it was awesome. This time though, a lot changed for the bad. Renovations were going on, wasn't told. The coffee machines that used to be in each room are gone. Good luck getting breakfast when they said it would be served. Rooms were dirty. Won't be staying again.

The heater wasn't working when I got there, they fixed it immediately, but then stop working again. We had to turn it off the whole weekend because it was just blowing cold air. There were people fighting in the hall way and outside during the weekend. Our room was not cleaned and sheets not changed durning our stay. And the toilet did not flush properly the whole time. The faucet was barely attached to the counter top. Overall experience was horrible. Well not being staying there again.

Our room 238 was amazing… I am so impressed with the service, the continental breakfast, the cleanliness, the peace and quiet.. the bed was so plush and clean.. the tv was a big screen, the refrigerator was immaculate. Just a great experience. I’ve stayed in fancy hotels before and this experience was fantastic. I’ll surely recommend and go back. I was very happy with my stay at days inn portage.

My previous stay at this location was pleasant. However, this visit was disappointing; bed had crumbs, tv remote did not work, mirror was smeared. The staff was congenial but very busy. Coffee was ready for my early morning departure.

Clean, warm, and actually had the amenities listed on the website. I've stayed at other hotels in the area for work travel that made me want to sleep in my vehicle. This place is impressive and will be my "go to" from now on!

100% happy with my stay at Days Inn Kalamazoo. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The manager and staff went above and beyond to make us happy and feel at home. The rooms were very well equipped and beautiful. The beds and pillows were so soft and comfortable. The room was very clean and stylishly decorated. I had a mini fridge and microwave. It was a very nice size room with a couch. I recommend the Days Inn in Kalamazoo. It was a very nice experience and felt cared for while there!

I cannot say it enough, the front desk staff is absolutely amazing! I had some unforseen issues arrive and was not able to depart like planned. They jumped through hoops to help me and make a room available for a additional night! These guys just earned my loyalty when I need a room from here on out! The rooms are always clean and tidy. The indoor pool was wet, and breakfast is free. What more can you ask for at $70?! Thank you again to all the staff!

The room smelled atrocious when we walked in. Super musty. After putting the ac on it smelled even worse. I can’t even describe it. Fridge was clearly not cleaned. There was an obvious homeless man utilizing the breakfast drinks that everyone else has to use. 10/10 would not stay here again.

Very good price. Staff was kind and helpful. Could use updating inside. Our bathroom looked like a wild animal had tried to chew its way out with a damaged door and trim. Bathroom could have been cleaner.

Normally I don’t judge, but this place was so nasty. Also the locks didn’t work and they told us most rooms are like that. We even switch rooms 3 times. Don’t waste your money on a cheap room you deserve better.

This property is a literal crack house. When we pulled in the parking lot we noticed three different room windows were broken and wide open/half falling out of the frame. There were junkies in the lobby when we walked in and a bunch of signs stating that they do not serve breakfast and that there are no public restrooms. We checked in and walked down a hallway that smelled like smoke and death. We walked into our room and noticed the door had obviously been kicked in at some point and that the lock was broken. There was also a large blood stain on our carpet and some gross long hairs in the room. Needless to say we did not stay and instead went across the street to the Hampton Inn. Avoid this property at all cost.

DO NOT STAY HERE! PLEASE This place should not be open, we were in the middle of switching rooms as our first one shouldn’t have even been in service. In the middle of the switch 2 junkies had entered our room and locked the door. When they opened the door and seen me they began to explain they were the maintenance people. (Pure Junkies) as they tried to lure me in the room I refused. They had left behind their switch blade knife and 2 Verizon SIM cards on our bed. Long story short the staff were great although we were still charged for the room but, switched to a sister property. Spend the extra stay somewhere else. This place has junkies living in the rooms and it smells literally like a barn.

Absolutely 100% disgusted with the room so was provided!! I went to the Manager and informed him of my findings. and he tried to switch my room only to discover more filth in the next room!! Hair on the sheets, stickers on the walls, crumbs all over the floor, stains on the walls, white particles on the lamps, fingerprints on the mirrors and tv just down right filthy!! Also was not able to receive a refund or even a partial refund. I couldn’t bare even sitting down on the bed none less the furniture. Now I wasn’t expecting a 5 star resort by any means, especially at the price point. But the pool was closed, washer and dryer were out of commission and they are not currently serving breakfast. (and it appears that they haven’t had those accommodations in quite some time) Take your money ELSEWHERE!!!

Room looked like it had just seen the better part of a college party. The drywall had holes that were freshly patched from the door to the window. The pull-out bed was broken and barely was able to be reassembled. The room keys quit working the first night and I went down twice to have them fixed and they still didn't work so the person behind the counter had to let me in the room with his wristband. The machines at the base of the stairs did not accept change which my daughter wasn't pleased with LOL. Overall though it was not that bad. Sign says complementary breakfast online but they had no such thing and would not fix this with me and when I planned the trip that was part of the plan which was fairly agitating. The employees were kind though

When we first pulled in it was like a abandoned parking lot. There was a homeless guy looking through the garbage and lighting it on fire. He came up to my husband and asked for a lighter. Then i go inside we get our room the bed was literally going to break the mold in the bathroom and shower was disgusting. Our shower door did not stay closed. This is from july 29-31 2022. It was so bad we stayed one night and left. The owners had there whole family living there.also it said breakfast and there was no breakfast. I would not recommend this place at all. Also they had a sign no rooms available when there was like only 4 cars in the parking lot. Waste of money would love to get my refund for my one night we didnt stay there

When we walked in the lobby looked fine. The issues started when we went to the room ,as soon as I opened the door I immediately noticed a damp wet smell. I wanted to put my food in the fridge and when I open my it up there was mold in the fridge. Thankfully the beds were clean. The hotel was actually really quiet which was great because I needed a lot of sleep. The carpet felt damp and dirty so I recommend anyone staying here bring easy access slip on shoes to wear around the room or just walk around in socks. The ceilings are water damaged. I was glad that the Air conditioner worked well. There is only one tiny garbage can in the entire room , there should be at least 2. The breakfast that they had was muffins, cereal , milk and yogurt. The tv worked and has kid channels too. There is free wifi. Also THE ELEVATOR IS BROKEN!!!
