Само здание снаружи выглядит шикарно, но... внутри есть зал со сценой, который требуют ремонта, замены полов, реставрации потолков. Он стоит закрытым. Хорошо бы было, чтобы он тоже функционировал.

They are located, I would say, in a chaotic order, but at the same time they look very organic, as if intertwined in time and space. Indeed, this is a kind of bridge over time, where you can see a lot of interesting things under one roof. The second exhibition also deserves close attention. It is dedicated to the heroes of the works of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann. Here you can see many illustrations for the author’s works, which are made in a certain style. When you see such works, you immediately understand that they are dedicated specifically to the works of Hoffmann: sharp features of faces and figures, special smiles, unique body language. One of the halls houses beautiful and memorable scenery for the cartoon “Hoffmaniad”. This is a full-length puppet cartoon from Soyuzmultfilm, which is based on several works by the author. These are authentic decorations from the cartoon, which were brought here especially for this exhibition. The third exhibition is “Formula of Time”. A very unique collection of different works. In one small room “live” figures, among whom the most famous people are recognizable. These works were created with an emphasis on a certain comedy. Indeed, it turned out well. Then we move along the corridor, which is hung with various, as I heard, works in the “Avant-garde” style. I’m not particularly connoisseur of various kinds of movements, but after viewing such paintings I could only say: “Yessss, avant-garde – such avant-garde.” The works of an artist named Eli Belyutin at least attract attention, but, I think, will not resonate with everyone.

The museum is located in the ancient building of the former Koenigsberg Trade Exchange, an architectural monument of the 19th century. The beautiful building attracts the attention of tourists, as it stands on the river bank, with pleasure boats sailing past it. Here, on the railing, you can find one of the homlins.

What a strage art museum. I was sold 7 total tickets at the ticket office and it only took 30 minutes to see it all. I have no idea what all 7 tickets were for.

The exhibition is great, I guess it was a temporary exhibition wit painters from many russian museums There is no effort visible, that foreigners are welcome and supported. Nothing is written in English or polish. There are no audio guides for foreigners. There is an App available for the exhibition. I couldn't download the app, as I didn't have a russian SIM card and I wasn't prepared to download it earlier. A interesting exhibition with the possibility to improve it.

Был удивлен, что в таком шикарном большом здании такая бедная экспозиция. Тем более в центре города и с таким громким названием. Да, я понимаю, что музей относительно новодельный, но пока вот впечатление такое. Про историю города атмосферная обстановка, но экспонатов крайне мало! Огромное место отведено под миры Гофмана, но выставка скорее детская: куклы, рисунки, иллюстрации, декорации мультфильмов. Хотелось бы видеть полотна классической живописи европейских мастеров, а не целый этаж авангарда. Отдельно хочу отметить из положительного: открыл для себя прекрасного местного художника Булгакова, но опять же, на экспозиции всего пяток картин. Жаль.

And there is no famous artists for foreigner travelers. So, if you much time in Kaliningrad, you should visit here. I think it's great chance to visit here for knowing art in Kaliningrad, because I just recognized Kaliningrad as Kant,however,there are something except Kant. And this building is beautiful. There is a small souvenir shop in this museum. Compared with other famous museum's souvenir shops, you would definitely feel sad

An excellent museum, the staff are very friendly and ready to help, there are permanent and temporary exhibitions, all exhibits are in good condition, the museum is modern, interactive, and the ticket price is affordable.

The main exhibition is still closed until the end of October. The museum only offer two exhibitions and each exhibition has different ticket entrance. 200 for the Paintings by Soviet artists. And 350 for the other. The exhibition is really small and I did not enjoy much. Not worth it.

This museum shows the history of the city, which includes the Prussian era, it’s destruction and it’s modern day recovery. A must see thanks to its dedicated staff members.
