Wonderful hotel. Ambience. The food was very nice. The staff were very courteous and listened to my request. The pool side is very nice to relax and feel good. Price of the meal was actually very decent for such an elegant place. Each time I come here there is also improvement from previous times. Now there is a pharmacy attached to the hotel for all pharmacological products. But I think my love of this place is the lightening, always lit up and never dark. Hotel makes one of the best club sandwich in kano, best ever. The ceasar salad is not bad a well. Last visit I had an Arabian dinner with hummus and bread, chicken wings and some things I cant pronounce but was lovely and tasty

Constant power supply, good location with a mosque just opposite the building and ease of getting a vehicle, Neat, comfortable and spacious rooms with neat toilets. Excellent food from cilantro but menu book in the hotel rooms needs to be updated so there are no discrepancies with the actual prices of food. Security personnel are everywhere.

3/5 26th May 2022 Came for a business visit to Kano and stayed here. The rooms are very big and the place is alright. There are frequent power cuts but it immediately comes back on. We didn't have hotel breakfast included which was weird for us, but the restaurants here are pretty decent. Would recommend if you are in the Kano area.

Located in GRA Tahir guest palace is quite accessible. The hotel has lots of facilities within including some restaurants like cilantro, a poolside area, pharmacy and cake shop. The rooms are quite large(about the largest sized for single bed Iโ€™ve seen) and have the necessary amenities. Their food was ok though I had an upset stomach after dinner from the poolside. Breakfast was good. I observed that there were too many people milling around the premises both inside the hotel and outside. Also, Some of the staff couldnโ€™t speak English. There needs to be an improvement

This is a late review because I was here from 11/01/2019- 14/01/2019. My first time in Kano and Iโ€™m so lucky to have spent it in one of the top rated hotels there, it was freakinggggg amazing, my dad literally had to drag to me the car on our last day. I ate till I couldnโ€™t no more (the last photo was my tummyโ€™s condition) ๐Ÿ˜‚ thank you Tahir Guest Palace!โค๏ธ

The recommendation I got through some close contacts that this is one of the best state of hotels in Kano but after visiting there and paying hefty amount the mess started following slowly and slowly Room was very untidy and floor given to me was just painted and smell of paint was so irritating that headache started . Then after telling a bell boy many times he also did not understand the English at all and start bringing reverse things and starts irritating. After then they start showing many rooms and Atlast 2 days I need to handle I find one room which was little and merely adjustable so took in force that room. Showers gone , water flow very slow and toilet seats ๐Ÿ’บ were dirty and even not cleaned before handing over that to new guests . Cleanliness rating I would give even 0* if that was applicable or available here but unfortunately can't find. Very unfortunate 2 days stay in Kano and not at all recommended if hygiene and comfort any customers are finding out.

The hotel is very priced and situated in a peaceful and quiet area within Nasarawa GRA. There is plenty of parking available, including surface and underground lots that offer valet services. The standard rooms are pleasant, clean, and of a considerable size. The accumulation of limescale in the bathtub and on the wall of the toliets indicates that routine cleaning is not optimal. Security does not look ideal, even though many standard security measures including numerous security men in place. You may receive a knock on your room door from a random person. In addition, other security gaps observed. The hotel complex is undergoing renovation, modification, and beatification. Client safety was not thought to be of importance. There were no cautionary signs posted or attempts made to discourage hotel guests from entering sections undergoing renovations. I had an enjoyable time during my visit. I did not have a reason to dial the customer care/Frontdesk to lodge a complaint. If you are a tea lover, your stay at the hotel will be incomplete if you did not try the Pool side Turkish tea.

It was my second time in the city of Kano and my second visit to Tahir. I enjoyed my stay during first visit is why I didn't hesitate to pick Tahir on this second visit. The rooms are really spacious although compared to my first visit, "age" is beginning to tell on the infrastructure. Some of the towels also appear to have been recycled over a long time and need to be "retired". The staff were very friendly and willing to help. The location is safe and secure within the Nassarawa GRA and the hotel itself doesn't seem to sleep. I didn't like the fact that there was some construction work going on in the wing where I stayed and they didn't seem to be considerate of guests as I could hear banging sounds from as early as 9a.m.

The environment is cozy and lively. Yes there is a gym center but there is need for a small sport center to make it a 4star hotel.

Nice place, good aesthetics and serene environment. Standard accomodations and good security. This also comes with excellent WiFi and sundry services. My favourite go to place is their Gents barbers located close to the pool. If you want a good cut you'll get it there. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.

Tahir Guest Palace is really a Palace-like hotel. It's a leading five star hotel in the Northern Nigerian city of Kano. Very tidy environment with very welcoming service staff. Local and major Nigerian dishes including foreign dishes are always available. I very much enjoyed my short stay here.

I had a really great time at Tahir Guest Palace last week. It doesnโ€™t seem like much from the gate but when you get in, the experience you get from check in to check out is absolutely fantastic. The staff are friendly, the rooms are nice, the facilities are great. There are three restaurants that serve Nigerian, Indian and Chinese food and the food is soooooo good. I would recommend this place anytime

This by far is one of the best hotels in Kano! The rooms are not only spacious, but they are quite neat, luxurious and comfy. Service is top notch and speedy with friendly staff. Thereโ€™s quite the buzz around the hotel that never dies down... you might not like it if you have a quiet getaway in mind. The poolside is also almost always busy at night but the rooftop Cilantro bar is quieter and offers more privacy. I found the yellow lightning to be distracting however, Iโ€™ve really enjoyed my stay so far. Recommended!!!

Tahir Guest Palace is home away from home with cozy restaurants and a serene environment. I really love the varieties of food available at the restaurant and cleanliness of the environment. However, the wardrobe is too small, the quality of the bedspread can be improved, likewise the room decor. Also, there should be provision for pregnant women and nursing mothers in the facility. Also, the staff need to be retrained and equipped with proper skills to act professionally. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. Kudos!

Tahir is by reputation, the most prestigious, elegant and luxurious hotel in the north of Nigeria. Tahir Guest Palace Hotel, founded in 1994, has been considered an icon for hotels to follow. Since their opening, they have provided first class accommodation to the people of Nigeria, holiday makers and important dignitaries and business people from around the world. Initially opened as Tahir Guest Inn when the Chairman Mr. Tahir Fadlallah decided that the city of Kano did not have a suitable hotel to accommodate its people or its visitors. He had a vision; to offer the people of Kano excellent accommodation and services. With a focus on luxury, space, comfort, good value, customer services and maintenance. Today they have over 300 rooms. Though they have different room ranges which vary in price, space and facility, all there rooms are equipped with the essentials for anybody who wants a comfortable stay in Kano. An Intercom. Wireless high speed Internet Access. Colour Television with Satelite. A refrigerator. Adjustable air-conditioning. A serene environment

One of the best if not the best hotel in Kano. Spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast was the same the whole week with more emphasis on local foods but very generous omelettes compared to many other hotels. Would definitely come back

The hotel seems to be living on its past glory, mosquitoes were flying around during my last visit and the bathroom was leaking water. I hope the management of the hotel can take maintenance seriously. The glitters can only attract people but if there is poor maintenance, it will be difficult to keep them.

I had a bad experience. The room I was given felt like I was in a basement. The room was cold and damp. The environment was very dirty and noisy, across the car park. And when I complained, there was no apology issued. The only respite I had was the breakfast I had was good.

I love the hotel environment, although it could be quite crowded. The rooms are very large, clean and nice. Room service are also warm and friendly. The meals are quite costly. Also, there are various conference rooms of different sizes depending on your choice. In general, it is a nice place

This is my fifth time staying in this hotel and I would like to say that the staff, the location and the service I have received at Tahir is Top Notch... Their rooms are quite big and spacious.... Beds are soft, water heater works, television has multiple stations with different channels that cater to different types of people. The staff are very helpful and accommodating.... Their pool side restaurant is great to host a party or a get together. They have a pharmacy and a ice cream parlour inside the hotel... very convenient...Loved my experience of staying at the hotel and will lodge again in the future when I come to Kano... Keep it up guys....

Lots of construction ongoing. But it's a lovely place to be. The rooms are very spacious and well made. Downside is the outdoor restaurant/pool side, it's all about the mosquitoes. Loads of them.

One of my favourite hotels in Kano. Services are superb with great facilities. Food are great but doesn't always come with that African flavor. If you're the type that love swallow, then you need to get it outside as it is not sold there. However if you are a lover of juncks and snacks, then you're in for a treat.

Tahir needs to upgrade! Their infrastructure is so low! For a hotel with a name like theirs, they have outmoded facilities and it's so bad.. a deluxe room of 35k isn't anything to write home about.. I was so disappointed because I had to impress a guest and it I was so gutted at what the rooms turned out to be. The wardrobe, the bed, the TVs, the wall painting, who still uses coloured blankets.. it's so bad tahir needs to invest in upgrading their rooms..so bad..poor!

Tahir is my go-to for accomodation in Kano. I have tried others but I keep coming back. The newer sections have nicer bathrooms and accessories but in general the rooms are clean. Having Cilantro in-house is +++.

"Wow, I had an incredible time at our get-together gathering! It was such a joyous occasion filled with laughter, good food, and wonderful company. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for us to reconnect and create lasting memories. The venue was beautifully decorated, creating a festive and celebratory ambiance. The organizers did a fantastic job in ensuring that everything was well-coordinated and that everyone felt comfortable. The music was upbeat and had everyone on their feet, dancing and enjoying themselves. The highlight of the event was definitely the delicious food. From mouthwatering appetizers to delectable main courses and irresistible desserts, every dish was a delight to the taste buds. The variety of flavors and the attention to detail in presentation truly showcased the culinary expertise of the organizers. What made this gathering truly special was the genuine connection and camaraderie among all the attendees. It was heartwarming to see old friends catching up, new friendships forming, and everyone coming together to celebrate. The positive energy and sense of unity were truly infectious. Overall, this get-together gathering was an absolute blast! It was a perfect blend of fun, laughter, delicious food, and wonderful company. I am grateful to have been a part of such a memorable event and look forward to more gatherings like this in the future!" I hope this review captures the essence of your get-together gathering! ๐Ÿ˜Š

An exquisite place in the hear of Kano. Their rooms are spacious and comfortable and food, hmmm... not as exciting as I thought, probably because I didn't try their different in-house restaurant upstairs. Yes, they have 2 separate restaurant to cater for different needs and culture. Their staff are top notch professionals in discharging their duties, even to the stewards & guards. There is also good WiFi in the rooms and lobby area (though a fairly poor signal in the restaurant downstairs). Overall, the internet connectivity is decent enough to help you with those work emails and WhatsApp calls. Oh, before I forget, there is no free breakfast, ignore what is written on their Google page (at lest what I was told when I asked). There is a saloon, mosque, boutique, gym, mini mart, pool and a pharmacy for all your needs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and looking forward to revisiting again.

A beautiful hotel with proper amenities and very good customer service.very nice environment.Check out time is 12:pm but it can be extended to 3:pm for free.Room service is fast.Wifi works perfectly well.Several restaurants in the hotel and a lot other in its environs.Going and coming in and out of the hotel is easy as there are tricycles everywhere and easy to get or you could book a taxi online as you wish.Bringing in food from outside the hotel is allowed, you can even order it to be delivered there.Water heaters work well.Very nice pool side restaurant with lovely view. But thin walls, you practically hear loud noises from other rooms.Thereโ€™s a pharmacy within the hotel and there are supermarkets around the hotel so getting your basics is stress free.Overall its a nice place to be and you get the worth of your money.

Had booked for deluxe room, while checking in the hotel after showing the booking details the hotel gave me a room. Upon checking out they said we have put you in superior room so you need to pay 35000 per night. This is like I got conned. When asked why you didn't inform me during check in they started arguing

  • 2/5 Ayแปฬ€mรญdรฉ L. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel was too crowded. Noisy porters. They put is in a building that was still undergoing construction which is dangerous. Room service is below par. Electricity goes off and on every minute. Although people say it is the best hotel in Kano, I'd disagree. Those who say that equate popularity to standard, which isn't so. They have a lot of guests, adequate carparks, a pharmacy, gym, and swimming pool but service is terrible.

  • 4/5 Tari W. 1 year ago on Google
Let's just call this place The Transcorp Hilton of Kano (always abuzz with people and activities alongside the many support services within the premises - Pharmacy, Beauty Salon, Spa, Fashion Shops, Gelato Shop, Pool Side Restaurant/Bar, Cilantro Restaurant, multiple meeting rooms, mini playground). The hotel boasts of having about 500 Rooms (the place should be called a mini city). I probably stayed in one of the older rooms. Even though the appliances were visibly old, they were functional. They cleaned the room everyday. Clean sheets. Stayed for three nights, asked for hangars the first day I arrived and never got any until I left. Staff were professional and courteous. The rooms have menus for the Cilantro Restaurant in the premises and the Pool Side Restaurant (Both restaurants serve great meals, albeit, a little pricey but definitely value for money) Renovations were ongoing but the noise and disturbance to guests was minimal/negligible. Room rates range from 25k and above... The hotel is a beauty to behold at night with all the lights on... There is a playground for children and a gelato shop for treats for them (and adults too). There is a 24-hour Car Rental Service within the premises.

Poor services honestly, from reception, house keeping, room services etc. It is also untidy & dirty, they kept spreading damped sheets during my stay. How can a 3 star hotel be operating like a motel? Tahir hotel can do better please and security should also do their job well because it is almost as if anyone can have access to the room areas. I can only recommend for business meetings.

  • 4/5 Tejas P. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are extra large. Bathrooms are ok. Plenty of food options available including Cilantro Restaurant for Indian food.

  • 3/5 Temi A. 1 year ago on Google
The things I liked about the hotel were the following:ย I was actually not expecting to see what I saw, when I got to the entrance. The hotel in Kano definitely gets a thumbs up for trying to deliver a luxury hotel experience. The different things available on site were fantastic to see. There's a pharmacy, an ice cream shop, a barber shop, a pool, a spa, a salon, a gym, a play area for kids and three different restaurants within the hotel premises. Wow wow wow. I loved the size of my room. I was glad it wasn't on the ground floor. One of the kitchen restaurants was open so late I got to eat dinner by almost midnight which I was very happy about. The WiFi was really good. The receptionist, the housekeeping staff and the waiters were all friendly to me. The things i disliked about the hotel: I was so disappointed that the room I got had a leaking toilet but I realised this so late as I checked in after 11pm. The leak has been there for a while unattended to because I noticed that the leak was causing mould on one part of the wall where water was lingering. The staff have access to the windows by the toilets. I rolled up the blinds and opened the windows to get air into the bathroom and I noticed someone walk past and Dock when I turned around. That's not right at all. Workers shouldn't be able to invade my privacy like that. I might never know who saw me but it shouldn't be able to happen to other guests. The ac remote in the room wasn't working, so I couldn't regulate the temperature of the ac. I had to keep turning it off from the wall. House keeping should leave hangers in wardrobes. Guests shouldn't be requesting for such upon arrival. The food Menus were stained with oil and were left in the room that way. Quite tacky to be frank.

Most of my visits to Tahir has been either for meetings or dinner, and I'm a frequent visitor of the Cilantro restaurant (roof top). But yesterday I had to dine at the pool side restaurant for the first time and I must say it is qรนte beautiful and relaxing, great food and I mostly enjoyed the mocktail of coconut + pineapple drink and the buffalo wings starter. Turnaround time in prepping food was okay and impressive not later than 10 minutes, I had fried rice with shrimps quiet tasty and a sweet/sour soup made with pineapple...yummy I had a good time. P.S: I hope they look into tackling mosquitoes inside some part of the poolside restaurant, I had to change seats at some point to a well lighted part of the restaurant because of mosquitoes.

Poor house keeping and room service, the rooms and washrooms need renovations. They serve cold food with no apologies and Iโ€™m talking about the executive room, in the standard rooms you can literally smell the last person that was there no jokes. The one star I gave is for beautifying their environment.

The rooms were palacial. The receptionist was excellent. The place was always busy with so much guest. And the FOOD.... WOW... I have never seen beans serves so good. I had to buy take away on some occasions. They are good at taking care of the stomach. It is truly a hospitable place to stay. The WIFI network was so fast.... I may have taken too much of an advantage in the short time I was there.

The price of the rooms doesnโ€™t match the overall service and standard of the rooms. I couldnโ€™t get hot water in my room. I had to use the kettle provided in the rooms to boil water to shower. Found out on the last day of my stay when I turned on the AC that it was not working. Tried to use the toilet near the swimming pool, it was disgusting. I came here because a colleague who is probably used to mediocre hotels recommended it. Never again.

Honestly the guest Palace is very overrated. They need to manage there facilities better and more efficiently. The only plus I can say here is the presence of 3 Resturants within the hotel and an ice cream bar. Beyond that, the hotel needs better management, upgrade of services and personnels

1, the service was the worst , when I checked in the fridge in my room was dirty 2, every time they cleaned the room they always replaced the sheets with damp ones and I had to keep requesting for them to change it 3, if you are sick or for any reason you need an extra blanket, give up , they said they donโ€™t have enough 4, the dustbin in the bathroom wasnโ€™t even emptied, they just put a new bag over the trash 5, and the hot water doesnโ€™t start running before 6am so if you have a flight or somewhere to be in the morning, brace yourself for the cold water 6, plus the room cleaning was subpar , the wardrobe was dusty from the day I checked in to the day I left 7, only good thing was the location
