First time visiting Tom's Town Distilling Co. Definitely check it out during the holidays as everything is decorated oh so pretty! This place utilizes all the floors for different operations (distilling, merch, event space, etc.) We got to take a peek at the distillery operations & learned more about the history of prohibition here in KC from the head distiller, Brian Harper. If you love history and you love booze, this is the place for you. I don't drink alcohol & was able to fully enjoy my time here.

I love the stories behind the naming of distilleries. Tom’s Town Distillery is a throwback to times of old when Boss Tom ran KC and the people indeed were thirsty. This small, but well-appointed distillery offers tours, space for private events, and a classy bar that whips up amazing cocktails using their spirits. I’m partial to the Double Oaked Bourbon, so I bought a few bottles. Cheers!

Queer Bar Takeover chooses a traditionally straight bar and takes it over on the second Saturday of each month; this month we went back to Kansas City's Prohibition era at Tom's Town Distillery. The swanky atmosphere was perfect for a good conversation downstairs and our dance party upstairs. The house created drinks were fantastic, and the staff was wonderful to work with. Thank you to Tom's Town for working with us to create a more inclusive KC.

The cocktails were delicious, I had the angry goat and my friend had something with strawberry habanero and both tasted really refreshing. We enjoyed their cheese and veggie flatbread as well. The interior is so pretty with the high ceilings and leather sofa in the middle, feels ritzy.

We did a distillery tour here on Saturday and we had a fantastic time - highly recommend! It was informative and fun, mixed with a cool video from the current owners (what a hoot). We toured all 3 floors, did the tasting (1 vodka, 2 gins and 2 burbons). Such a smooth vodka! We enjoyed everything so much that we stuck around after the tour and had some snacks, breakfast hash for him and truffles for me. Our waitress, Josie, was attentive and kind. What a gem of a place and I hope more people stop in and experience this!

Excellent! I have been more than once, but each visit is unique. I have sat at the tables, couches, and most recently, the bar. The bar is now my favorite as the bartender was friendly and engaging. Small plates are fancy and pair well with just about all the cocktails. You can even buy a bottle (or two) to go!

Super distillery tour. Excellent service. And the bartender made the absolute best drink I've ever had. They have the downstairs set up for Halloween right now, it is called The Cloven Hoof. Had a drink and dinner there after the tour then moved upstairs for dessert. I absolutely recommend this place if you have the chance to go. Loved it!!

A friend and I were visiting KC for the weekend and decided to go on a distillery tour. We purchased our tickets online the same day. There happened to be a wedding taking place that night, but that didn't interfere with the tour at all. The atmosphere was pleasant and neat. The tour itself was VERY enjoyable! Ben was a great guide. He broke down the tour into three parts, used humor, and was very knowledgeable. I hadn't ever done a tasting before and wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but I loved it. Their bourbon and vodka were absolutely delicious. I don't like gin at all but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever had. Some of the other tour guests that preferred gin to vodka and bourbon absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, my friend and I had reservations right after the tour so we weren't able to stay any longer. But I'd 100% recommend this distillery and tour to friends.

Such a delightful tour and tasting experience! I went for my birthday and had a very nice time. The tour was one hour long and definitely takes you back in time. Short history about the building, Tom’s Town β€œnon” prohibition scene, Harry Truman and Tom Pendergast friendship, KC jazz music, explanation of the distillery process, tasting bourbon, vodka and gin, tour, and gift shop. Definitely a great KC experience! Highly recommend, especially if you like time travel. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Highly recommend doing the tour. I learned so much about both the distilling process and Kansas City history. Ben was a great tour guide. The spirits are excellent and the gift shop is loaded.

Really loved our experience here. We started with a distillery tour which is an excellent value! You get to taste the vodka, 2 gins, and 2 bourbons. Ben was our guide and he was thorough and funny. I also loved learning about the history of the building and Tom. We ended up buying a bottle of their gold bourbon. Afterward, we had a drink and my boyfriend tried their burger. He said his old-fashioned was excellent and he devoured the burger. Fun, lively ambiance with attentive service.

First class experience! The bourbons were great and the tasting room was absolutely beautiful. Also as a guy who's not huge into vodka or gin, their offerings definitely made me rethink that. Best and smoothest vodka I've ever had.

This is the place to be! We could not believe the stream of people coming into this place after us. Amazing selection of cocktails and food options. Dark and cozy environment. Staff was great.

If you are thinking of having your wedding or event at Tom's Town do it! My wedding was 10/29/22 in the Rickenbacker Room. I got so many compliments about how beautiful the space was! It has an open concept with windows throughout overlooking the city with beautiful exposed bricks and art deco vibes. The space was perfect for our 75 guests seated. We also had extra space for cocktail tables and a small seated area! The event coordinator, Britney, was FABULOUS! I was one of the events that started with the old coordinator that wasn't as good but once Britney took over all my stress about the event disappeared. She listened to our wants and gave out wonderful advice. Also, the staff at Tom's Town is the best out there. Matty and the rest of the bartenders were FANTASTIC! You can tell they enjoy their jobs which gave out the best energy to my guests. We can't wait to enjoy our anniversaries and just date nights at Tom's Town because they really do have excellent cocktails!

Love Tom’s Town - Come here every time I’m in town. The distillery tour is very good and informative. The drinks and food are all good - I had the Angry Goat, Royal Gold Old Fashioned, and Rosemary Fries.

Classy, art deco speakeasy atmosphere. Some award-winning spirits, and some that are interesting one-offs (e.g. Machine series). Convenient for the convention crowd.

Incredible experience. From the drinks and food to the service, we loved every bit of our lunch. The cocktails were inventive and bold but not overpowering. The brussels sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, and flatbread were all delicious as well. Will definitely make a point to come back and book a tasting tour on our next visit.

Best Christmas bar in Kansas City! The downstairs speakeasy is out of this world and the upstairs holiday vibes are immaculate. Food can’t be beat either. Didn’t know their dinner menu was so good. Get the burger or fried chicken sandwich. Stuffed mushrooms are great as well.

I went here for my best friend's wedding and the venue was immaculate. The drinks were incredibly smooth and pure. As someone who's sampled a wide variety of spirits in Miami, I can say the gin and vodka from Town's Town Distillery are among the best I've tried. The venue itself is buzzing with energy and filled with great vibes. The bartenders are both welcoming and friendly. This is, without a doubt, my favorite venue in all of Kansas and I'll definitely be returning.

Toms Town is a KC staple. Their rotating themed pop-ups are always the best. My partner and I recently checked out Toms Tropicana and had the best time. Great drinks and a fun, viby atmosphere. Check it out!

This place makes probably the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. All the ingredients are perfectly balanced and it’s not overly sweetened like many tend to be. Bob is an amazing server and I hope I can visit again soon!
