Been closed for "spring cleaning" since at least March 8th. Nothing about it on social media, web site, phone isn't being answered and mailbox is full. This is a great little cantina, and I hope it's not closed for good. When they were open, it was great food and service.

What a disappointment! We had a waiter with a couldn't care less attitude. The music is so loud you can't speak to each other unless you lean in closer. It can't be turned down apparently, we asked. Chips and salsa for $5.20 with the hot salsa tasting like soap. We asked for an extra salsa and got charged another $5.20. If you feel like having a margherita, get a beer instead. The main dishes were just mediocre at best. Everyplace can have an off night, but this was across the board.

This no longer feels like the dive we all once loved. I think it has potential to get back to that feel… but alas. I’m so sad to announce I was disappointed. My regular tacos were lackluster. While the street tacos were flavorful and yummy. It’s just not the same. 😢😢😢😢

I think the specials board says it all... But beyond that, you have some pretty awesome bartenders who are always good for a chat, the food is SOLID, and if you are a tequila fan... There's nothing left to talk about. Get your a s s to the Drunken Worm. Especially if it's Wednesday. Half price tequila night is where it's at! Oh. And the fried taco shells will change you as a person. Bring bad people here and turn them good with the fried taco shells.

Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s seat yourself and the ambiance is for us 90’s kids great music, great food

Decent Mexican food! Somewhat disappointed at the prices for quality and quantity of food offered. The place is clean and it would be a good place to watch sports. Overall, not overwhelmed by my experience but 4 stars is fair.

What happened to this place? Used to be good. They expanded since we last went. Now it feels like they’re trying to be be more of a club bar than a restaurant. My husband said his mole was terrible. I got the drunken worm nachos like I used to, but they weren’t as good. And whatever you guys are putting in margaritas is ruining them.

We sat down and we were greeted by a rude server and what seemed to be a drunk bartender. The quesadilla was alright but had raw white onion in it which just made it taste like onions. The chorizo burger was not good. It wasn’t bad but it was just insanely rich. The queso was really good though. All in all pretty decent place but definitely better options in KC for cheaper.

Tried all the tacos. LOVED the pulled pork. Others loved shrimp and tilapia. Also had the drunken worm nachos with the raspberry sauce. Amazing!! Fast friendly service.

Besides no parking and we where a party with a handicapped individual the food was ok. We like to try new Mexican restaurants. I had the 3 tacos and 2 sides. Tried octopus and steak tacos and it was so salty. The chorizo taco had no flavor and the Baja chicken taco was watery and the meat had no flavor. Not sure what was supposed to be baja abiut it. The nachos were also ordered and it was so dry. The cheese (shredded)was to thick and sticking all the chips together it was hard to eat and pull apart the chips. Nothing had moisture, not even the ground beef. The chips and salsa, the chips were really salty and the salsa had a lot of heat to it. Would I go back, unfortunately not. Disappointed. Did give the waiter feedback on the food and they said they just recently opened for food and are still working the kinks. ???

Awesome place to hang out and get a few drinks. The bar tender was very nice and cool. They have a bunch of drink options, including over 120 different types of tequila!! The theme and mood was cool as well. I would remember this to anyone. We were bar crawling and we had a blast. We didn't eat but the food did look amazing as well.

The atmosphere was fun, sat outside on a beautiful day and the music was perfect. I ordered nachos and woah it was a monster plate the ingredients were proportioned perfectly and the flavor was incredible from start to finish I highly recommended checking them out.

ATTENTION ATTENTION! Tequila, tacos and nachos.....that is all. On a serious note I can't believe I've passed this place and never knew about it. It's a great small bar with epic foods coming out of the kitchen and some awesome house Margaritas. I had the Sweetness Nachos and damn did they deliver on every bite and when mixed with the Marg it went very well together. Stop in for a bite or a drink and enjoy this quiet side of town on any day of the week

First time visiting the worm, I loved it. The atmosphere is welcoming, the music is hot, the food is amazing, and the drinks are fire. Not to mention the bartender, male, I didn’t catch his name, 🥲, he knows who he is, provides an ambience of fun And professionalism. He was one of my favorite bartenders/servers of all time, by far. Can’t wait to visit again!

Went for brunch, and it wasn't bad. Had the chilachiles burger. Two favorites together, sounds awesome. Was a bit overdone. Service was fine, and the ambiance was nice and quirky.

The portions were really small for the price. The food was good but nothing in comparison to an authentic Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was basically like a sports bar. We stopped here because it was close. It wasn't bad but there are definitely better Mexican restaurants. The service was ok. We had one server that was pretty rude, but another that was nice, though no servers really checked on us without being flagged down.

Wow! Came to write a positive review and saw so many negative ones? Took a work friend out for the day and asked what kind of food she wanted. She found the Drunken Worm. Definitely a bar atmosphere. But the food and drinks were amazing! And our server (feel bad for not getting his name) was attentive and answered all of our questions and made suggestions. Definitely can’t wait to take some other people back! And for someone who avoids eating out because of food sensitivities, this says a lot. Food recommendations: Worm Dip & Chicken Enchiladas (And we had enough that I brought home leftovers) Drink: Paloma Margarita

Low key, fun and friendly. Taco Tuesday happy hour specials were great and generous. Definitely Tex Mex style food, enjoyed beef and chicken crunchy tacos, chips, salsa and queso with house margaritas. Enjoyed it all-and Courtney was an excellent bartender/server!

Cool cozy Mexi-kitsch atmosphere, friendly service, and solid tequila, mezcal & draft beer selection. Plus a short but interesting specialty cocktail menu.

Who is eating here?? Looks like just locals who don't mind bad service, drunk bartenders, and bad food with a chance of bubble guts later on. Not quite sure how they're still in business, but not even a good dive bar to recommend from here.

Decent place for a no-frills drink and to watch a game if you don't mind bringing your own snacks. Margarita was stiff like I like them, but refried beans tastes like a rusty tin can, rice was dryer than the rice that's been in my fridge for two weeks, and while the chimichanga tasted...fine...going down, it left an aftertaste of rancid grease for hours afterwards.

No opinion yet. I'd need to go back but I can tell you the enchilada sauce didn't settle well withmy digestive system. Strong drinks but no flavor in my blueberry margarita.

2nd time at the Drunken Worm. Love the Worm dip. So good. The veggie tacos were really good. Had a nice grilled flavor.

Great tequila selection. Infused tequilas behind the full bar, plenty bar fare on menu. When it's warm out, the front windows are open for people watching & fresh air. 39th St (west) Neighborhood vibes for sure.
