Came here for my birthday and really can't complain. I got ribs and they were really good. Margarita was good and the dessert was delicious as well. Cornbread and onion rings were good too! The service was great (Sam was his name), and the atmosphere is beautiful. It is a little pricey in my opinion but I'd recommend checking it out.

We are tourists to the KC region and were told that Jack Stack was THE barbecue spot! This place did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was outstanding! James was amazing and gave us a great patio seat (even though the restaurant was packed). Josh was our server and was kind, helpful, and very attentive to our dietary needs (allergies). For anyone with dietary preferences, take note: Jack Stack BBQ has a fantastic allergen menu that identifies the common allergens in each menu item! This was perfect for us and immensely helped us with our dinner selection. The service was great and the food was exceptional. Thank you James and Josh for a fantastic barbecue experience in Kansas City!

We made this choice for our anniversary dinner, it was exactly what we expected. Food was amazing and the service was exceptional, Angela was our waitress she was amazing. She suggested multiple places for us to visit, and her service was exemplary. The food was superb all the way down to the pickles, I will say the sausage was my favorite of the meats, brisket was so tender, chicken was seasoned perfectly. The burnt ends both pork and beef were cooked just right. The GARLIC BROCCOLI to say the least was the most amazing thing I have ever eaten!! Beans and potatoes were good but that BROCCOLI was out of this world! We will definitely be back and I may have some delivered!!!

We met a couple of friends here before catching some of the sites here in Kansas City. It is a very popular place and filled up quickly. The waiter was attentive but not hovering. We made our orders and in no time our food was ready. The burnt ends, prime rib and such were all delicious and soon the food all disappeared. We spent two nice hours visiting and enjoying the food and atmosphere. The wife wanted Kansas City barbecue and she was very happy with our lunch.

It is typically hard to find seafood at BBQ spots. I was super surprised to see trout on the menu and it did not disappoint at all. Very tender, smoky, and a ton of flavor. I also ordered a salmon salad, which was good as well. However, if I had to choose between the two, I’d say go with the trout. It was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The cornbread was good as well. Very generous portions. Very reasonably priced.

Would love to give them a 5 ⭐️ rating, just wish they had a little more offering on the barbecue sauce or even had some at the table. Though the ribs were really tender. The coleslaw isn’t creamy as the menu says, more soupy then creamy. As for the aesthetics, beautiful place, really great atmosphere. Food comes out in a reasonable time and the server is really nice. I would still recommend going.

Love this location! I sure wish I got our servers name because he was fantastic. The food came out fast and was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and very pretty. We also saw trains go past as we ate, so that was neat. There is indoor and outdoor seating - I’d recommend making a reservation. We got the onion rings for an appetizer (very good), their cocktails are great, and we loved all of our entrees.

Isaac & Melissa took exceptional care of us. We enjoyed the incredible Fire Kissed wings, the Barbecue Shrimp & the Burnt Ends. The wings and the shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The burnt ends unfortunately were dry so the extra bbq sauce offered help to moisten the ends which made them much more enjoyable. It’s a great space, lively, busy and overall very enjoyable.

Simply top tier! I visited this location while on a business trip in February of 2023 and I can't say that I could have possibly been happier! Having lived in Kansas City for over 16 years prior to moving out West, one of the things I had on my checklist to do when coming back for my business trip was overload myself on good BBQ. (Let's face it, you go West of Kansas and no one out here has any clue how to do real BBQ.) In speaking with people at my company they told me that this Jack Stack BBQ was the place to go and we made a business dinner out of it...I didn't know what to expect since I wasn't really familiar with Jack Stack at the time but from the minute I entered the building I had high hopes. The atmosphere in this building is amazing and the smell of BBQ is one that will take you off your feet...in a good way. The food is amazing, the service was great...the only negative part of the whole experience is that I had to leave at the end of the night! On my next trip back to Kansas City, this place is at the top of my absolutely must hit lists! If you're in the area and looking for good BBQ, and not afraid to pay for the quality...don't hesitate, just do it!

The food was excellent! Environment was also nice, with a good vibe! I'm sure many of the other items in the menu are very good too! My only (really only) problem is the corn bread. It's very good, do not get me wrong. What i think it's not right is the price. $10 for a relatively small corn bread! The beef ribs with 2 sides was $25, the corn bread was $10? And when ordered i thought it was going to be free, then I saw the charge. I think $10 for that corn bread is way too high. Obviously i won't have that bread anymore. Like I said before, the food was great and the place is very nice

We went here for a late night dinner last night. We sat in a booth in the bar area. Our server/bartender was amazing! His name was Jason. Great service, attentive and friendly. The drinks were delicious. We had KC lemonade with vodka and also with bourbon. The food was outstanding. We had a little bit of everything, and it was all fantastic! I highly recommend this place.

Antoine made this a 5 star experience! Food was great, and very affordable. -I got the 'Poor Russ,' very good, and you can substitute fries for a different side!! -Cheesey potato bake is like Au grautin, but higher quality. Potatoes were just right. -The blackberry lemonade is underrated. -Service was quick and friendly. I really do recommend this place!!!

I'm not from Kansas City, but this was the best barbecue I've had in my entire life. I had the beef burnt ends and the beef prime ribs. The corn was also extremely delicious. Prices are a bit steep, but this was definitely a case of you get what you pay for. We had a group of 10 and had to make a reservation, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. The restaurant itself was quite full, so I'm sure we would not have gotten in without reservation.

KC BBQ can’t be beat!! Great food quality, fantastic service, and wide variety of meats. Be prepared to spend some money but it is definitely worth a try. The Burnt Ends sandwich was extremely good but I wasn’t a big fan of how the meat was shredded. The Mac N Cheese appetizer was delicious. The highlight though was their baked beans! Generally not a fan of baked beans but their take on them was superb and full of flavor. The sweet iced tea was average which was disappointing. Overall, 4 stars is a fair assessment of the experience.

Crazy-busy on a Thursday evening! People were packed inside and more kept coming in. We waited only about 15 minutes for a patio table. It's covered for shade and has both heaters and fans for any weather. We were celebrating a special occasion and ordered three appetizers (hot wings, shrimp, and onion rings). They were out of the mushrooms, my favorites, so that was disappointing (but I didn't go hungry). Appetizers were good; the onion rings were especially light and crispy. Our party had a variety of menu items including several meat dishes (the stars of the meal), cheesy potato bake (rich and delicious), full-flavored baked beans, broccoli that's always cooked to perfection, and a KC strip (seemed over-priced). I ordered the steak medium rare but it was still cool and purple inside. Instead of sending it back I just ate some of the edge and will enjoy the leftovers. If we hadn't had the appetizers and they weren't so busy, I would have sent it back. We definitely spent more than we usually do but have lots of leftovers. It would have been helpful for someone to be refilling water more quickly; the server was obviously very busy/rushed. The lemonade was refreshing but we already had our meal by the time it was served. We ordered the brownie dessert to enjoy later (it also took a long time to be brought out).

Great BBQ joint. Plenty of seating. I had the pick three with Brisket, Burnt Ends, and Spare Rib. Brisket had great flavor, good bend, but pulled (fell) apart much too easy for my taste. The Burnt Ends were flavored great and cooked perfectly. The ribs were also had great flavor and were cooked great. Ribs held together nicely for a good clean bite without totally falling apart. I would definitely go again.

We had a reservation on a Friday night. Stellar service (the best I’ve had in years). Our food came out in the wrong order and the waitress was on top of it, apologized, and even surprised us by bringing us a piece of cake on the house at the end of our meal. This is what professionalism and service looks like! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were superb too. Carrot cake is phenomenal. Loved the smoked salmon dip, fries, and spicy sandwich.

Visiting from MN and wanted a great meal, did not disappoint. Visited at 1:30 on a Friday with 2 youngish kids. Service from host, bar and serving staff all very quick, friendly and professional. Very cool ambience and food was amazing. We did the Taste of KC meat platter, everything was awesome. More than enough for two adults. Server bagged our leftovers for us which was a nice touch. Read a few reviews stating prices are a bit high, but I would say they're nothing short of a bargain considering the quality of service, food, drinks and atmosphere.

We are from out of town, this restaurant was recommended to us for BBQ. It did not disappoint in any way! This by far has to be some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had! I got the half chicken with the honey chipotle BBQ DELICIOUS. The chicken was so juicy and tender ! My bf got the pick 2 with the crowne short rib and brisket , the short rib was phenomenal!! We also got the pulled pork Mac and cheese and that was amazing ! Highly recommend !

Steak and loaded baked potatoe. The onion rings were consumed too quickly to take a picture. Everything was delicious! There is a woody smoke ( just enough) taste that makes it stand out. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I expect to enjoy some KC BBQ during our trip and this place left me very disappointed. We ordered a platter which included Burnt Ends, pork, and sausage. The "burnt ends" were just cubed up brisket and obviously weren't true burnt ends and they were dry. The pork was a combination of dry and some chunks that were 100% fat. The sausage was pretty good and sides were ordered were as well (pit beans, corn, and potato salad. The service was good.

Great atmosphere and service. It was very busy, luckily someone was getting up near a bar when I came in. The smoked wings were great! I was told the beans were awesome but didn't try because they had pork in them. The burnt ends were cool but I have had better. My friend liked his ribs, again I didn't try because they are pork. It would be nice if they had non pork mac n cheese and beans options.

The atmosphere was fun and rustic and the food was great! I had the chicken and pulled pork combo, the chicken was juicy and tender I highly recommend it! My husband got the sausage and beef combo and really enjoyed it. So glad we stopped and gave it a try. The restaurant is also close to Union Station so you can easily walk over and check it out.

Our experience and food was fantastic! We had the pleasure of sitting with Coffee and he provided one of the best dining experiences my boyfriend and I have had. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food that was served. The food was some of the best BBQ we've had. We both got the sampler with beef burnt tips, which were to die as well as the ribs. Overall, great experience and we are really happy to have enjoyed a meal with Coffee. Don't think twice, go and enjoy the food with Coffee!

Everything we had was great. The coleslaw and onion rings for an appetizer, both had great flavor. The slaw was a little on the sweet side but very good. I had the pork ribs, beef brisket and beef burnt ends and wasn't disappointed in the least. Nice smoke flavor and pretty juicy. I can't remember the name of the sandwich my son had but it had pulled pork, ham, bacon, cheese and an onion ring with what looked like a mustard based sauce. It must have been good since his eyes kept rolling back in his head while he was eating it. The fries were about the only thing that I'd say were unremarkable. They were, well, fries. Nothing stood out about them but they weren't bad. Also, our waiter, Isaac, was awesome. He got the order correct, brought things out in a timely manner and kept the drinks full. Super friendly and A+ service. I'll definitely come back here.

One of my favorite spots! I am from Atlanta and lived in Kansas City a few years ago when I worked at Cerner. I recently came to visit for a friend’s wedding and came by here again. This place never disappoints. The servers are still providing exceptional service and the food is still as good as I remember! My sister enjoyed it for her first time! Great food and great vibes. Loved it

Be sure to make a reservation! We had a party of 6 that stopped by for a late lunch. No reservation. They were packed. The manager was nice and sat us at a large table that had a reservation already booked in one hour. We promised to get in and out in an hour. Our server was fantastic! She kept our drinks full, got our appetizers and meals out in record time. All the food was amazing. The BBQ macaroni and cheese was to die for! The pulled pork sandwich was juicy and so full of flavor. The kids loved the Cajun rubbed grilled wings. The best BBQ we've had at a restaurant. This is KC BBQ at its finest!
