The food is really good with a reasonable price! I absolutely love the chicken fried with rice with shrimp! The waiter was very attentive. Definitely one of the rare gems I discovered. I definitely will be back to try out other things!

A great gem that serves authentic Vietnamese food. Service is friendly and quick. Food arrives quickly and very tasty. The egg rolls are crispy and stuffed with filling. The pho broth is hearty and not overly spiced. The bowls are huge and good for sharing. I love their iced coffee, gives the right amount of energy to eat your way through the city. They take credit cards and great place to go with friends.

Dropped in on February 21st to try this restaurant, based on some local word-of-mouth recommendations. It's a wee bit of a walk away from the main 'area' (River Market) for catching a bus home, but it was worth the walk I'd say. The place itself is cozy, though incredibly busy (line going out the door busy) when my boyfriend and I went around noon. It might've been busier because it was a holiday? Regardless, service was prompt, friendly, and attentive throughout the experience, despite how busy it was. We ordered two P1 Beef Pho bowls with eye of round beef. It's marginally pricier than other competitors but was delicious enough to probably justify the price difference. There was a hearty amount of broth, enough to take about a pint of leftovers home to enjoy later. The flavors were nice, and the bowls aromatic. If not for the extended walk off the beaten path, I'd revisit more often.

This is me and my friends favorite places to have lunch dates! Come in, and seat yourself and wait to enjoy a delicious bowl of pho!! I usually get the all meat pho without tripe, I think it's p4? If you're a beginner like me, add some basil, cilantro, a little soy sauce and pepper and the bowl is perfect for me! I never liked sweet potato fries until I came here! Delicious with a few seasoned fried shrimp 🍤. Sometimes the service isn't the greatest, but it's always a calm environment and we leave happy and full ! Helpful tip, all my food was brought out at the same time and I didn't get to enjoy the appetizer due to my pho getting cold.

Came in for lunch, and the restaurant was fairly busy. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken quickly as well (i.e. less than 10 mins). Not pictured, but their Vietnamese iced coffee was really good. The egg rolls were crispy. The fried quail was alright, but not the best I've had and the sauce that came with it was somewhat disappointing. Our entrées were really good! We got seafood pho, which was full of various seafood goodies (shrimp, mussel, squid, scallops) and the salt and pepper shrimp were tasty.

WOW!! I’ll admit, this was a tad outside of my food comfort zone, but I was not disappointed. It was so flavorful & filling. Huge portions! Loved it & will definitely be back to try something different.

I’ll start of by saying the food was tasty. The pho and garlic noodles were good. The spring rolls were bland and the chicken in the vermicelli was over cooked. The service was the real low light here. I realized when checking out the one order of spring rolls was two, the vegetables my wife wanted on the side of the garlic noodles never came and we had to wait for another server to come to provide us with water. Really disappointed in the service here, because I saw good reviews.

Best pho you'll find in this state at LEAST. I can't speak highly enough truly. The dine in is just as great as takeout. If youre a lil weirded out by some meat I just go with the veggie pho (it is NOT vegan). I freaking love the peanut sauce that comes with the spring rolls. I tell everyone I know, I work by a lot of hotels so I definitely spread the word for you guys (; pretty much a walking ad right here lol.

This is truly a place to visit, If vietnamese food is in your scope, well even if it isnt its worth the trip. The service was excellent and the pho came in really quick speed. I had the pho and my wife had the clear noodle soup and we defintley left full and happy. Highly reccomend the lovely establishment

This delicious cuisine is located just northeast of City Market. Cold day? Enjoy one of their hot soups. Not only do you get plenty to eat, but the flavor explosions your palate experiences are memorable and comforting, to say the least. My recent visit included my goto Spring Rolls. Served with a creamy peanut sauce to dip your rolls in is a great compliment to the fresh vegetables and pieces of brisket and shrimp hidden inside, a terrific selection to start your meal. We then ordered a dish I saw flying out of the kitchen. Fried Sweet Potato fries with shrimp, served with their intoxicating fish broth. I was instructed to use the lettuce leaf to tuck in the cilantro, potatoes, and shrimp, then pour some fish broth into it and...BAMMM! My taste buds were never happier. I then chose a pork chop dish that was totally outside my box of favorites. It was served with a delightful chicken broth I will definitely try again, however, I have to say the dish as a whole was not a flavor profile I would revisit, but it was not a terrible experience; it was just different from my usual choices. So take a drive to Vietnam Cafe, your taste buds will thank you for the freshness of their vegetables and the unique flavor bombs that await you. Bon Appétit

Overall the price and the food is about right. I ordered the seafood with crispy noodles. I got 2 shrimp 3 mussels and a handful of imitation crab. All of which were clearly frozen before and basically flavorless. I basically paid $13 for a bowl of vegetables and noodles. I know it's my fault for ordering seafood in KC but i can dream. The eggrolls were also a little too greasy. I'll give it another try some day and probably order rice. But as of right now it's not the ticket. They also leave the spoons for the soup out which isn't good. And everyone can touch them.

Loved the food, service, and hospitality they made me a sauce that was delicious to go with my succulent fried calamari!! The coffee was great and had a kick to it.

I used to live near KC a decade ago and this place was a bit smaller but the food was amazing. 10 years later when I revisit, they expanded the space a little and there's a more clean and modern vibe now. The pho quality went down a little bit and the service is pretty mid but not horrendous I guess. The sweet potato fries and shrimp appetizer has always been my favorite dish to order and is still as amazing as ever.

This place food is really good. I ordered pork and shrimp spring rolls for an appetizer whichwas aight~. My main meal was a combination Pho which was very good broth. Staff are very serious and think that they don't have to be nice for your business. So someone could seriously get offended and go Karen on them.

Great environment! Service was friendly and fast. Food could have been a little warmer. The Bun thit nuong dish wasn’t as flavorful as most places.

I feel like this place is good enough to satisfy my craving for Pho. If you're in Kansas city and want a quick fix give this place a try. The soup wasn't bland, but I think that they could've provided more beef to their pho bo. My friend said their pho bo kho (red looking soup) was okay 8/10. Overall, not bad.

I wanted some beef pho and this really hit the spot. That tasty warm broth was just what I needed after a long cold drive. The sides also let you flavor it how you like. The noodles were great. The beef was a little tough and bland. Luckily the rest tasted so good I was fine to just work around the meat.

By far the best Vietnamese restaurant in Kansas. The new remodel has expanded the dining area which allows for more spacious seating and larger parties. The menu has numerous options in every category and nothing will break the bank so you can sample a lot of the menu to find your favorite items. Highly recommend the Pho if you're sick as an instant pick me up. I've eaten here for the better part of two decades and have never been disappointed.

I’ve never written a bad review and I don’t always find it necessary but in search for good Bun Bo Hue in the area I had a bowl here that tasted like watery broth, no spice, no sourness, no richness or flavor I’ve had with Bun Bo Hue before. I added sriracha like 3 times and some fish sauce for any flavor and it still didn’t help. There also wasn’t any pork blood, I can get past that, then a few pieces of beef, pork belly, and ham which were just fine. The workers were nice but there was no one to come by to follow up otherwise I probably would’ve asked for some kind of spicy paste or something. Overall this just didn’t taste anything like the punchy and umami bomb Bun Bo Hues I’ve had before. Maybe they have had good bowls before and just didn’t care to give me that today, but I hope they improve this moving forward!
