Always great food! Sometimes service can be slow, but the team is always friendly.

First visit was last night. We sat at the bar and it was 10-15 minutes before the bartender acknowledged that we we there. Ordered margaritas and they were watered down. Was asked if we wanted chips and salsa by a waitress. Every Mexican restaurant I have been to just brings you chips and salsa. They did not have a queso dip. It was basically melted cheese like on a pizza in a dish served with soft tortillas. You can not use chips with this. It had meat in it and very greasy. I ordered the three pork tacos which was also very greasy. Not one time did the bartender ask us how we were or how the food was. The only reason we chose this place was because ponaks across the street was packed and didn't want to wait. Next time we will wait and not be back.

DONT WALK ! RUNNNNN TO El Patron !!!! I ordered the Alex burrito … sheeeshhhh I’ve never had a burrito so good! My first time being to El Patron was 3 days ago & I’ve been twice 😂 Let’s not mention their margaritas !!! THEIR MARGARITAS ARE A MUST HAVE !!! They’re strong but a good strong ! Their staff are very hospitable & welcoming! 10 out of 10 all around!

The food is flavorful, the portions are nice. I don't know if you can beat the empanada...the pastry of the empanada is absolutely delightful... That's not review talk, that's truth!

A Kansas City gem!! El Patron had the best queso, chimichangas and mojito I’ve had in a long time. The staff was very kind, and we were impressed how fast the service was. We loved the rooftop patio and will definitely be back next time we’re in KC!😍

What an amazing place to eat. My wife came here on Friday night. Told me about it. So we had to come back the very next day because it was so good. Kim was our server. Customer Service makes a huge difference in the experience. Kim made the difference. She was so helpful in helping me and my wife pick what to get. She was very attentive and could not have gotten any better service. Kim definitely is a 5 out of 5 stars. The food was really good too. I can’t think of anything that I would change or did not like in my experience tonight. I would rather give my money to some place local, that a chain restaurant. The other amazing thing about Kim was we thought we were done eating. Kim asked if we wanted fried ice cream. We said no(at first). Well are we glad we changed our minds. Because it was so worth it.

We sat at the bar, the place was overall great until we're were finished. It was hard to get their attention for anything else after we had gotten our meals. This was my first time so all I can recommend is the enchiladas. Very nice authentic restaurant with salsa music.

My new favorite for Mexican. Rich flavor, and extremely generous portions. My wife and I shared the fajitas and still took home enough for my daughter. Our waiter was laid back and personable. Could use a little renovation or interior design in the back, but I can overlook that for the delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

I have enjoyed dining at El Patron over the past 10 years! The food and margaritas are the best in KC! We checked out today and were charged a credit card transaction fee of $5. So bring cash if you don’t want to pony up for the extra fees. I’ll probably opt into hitting my local Mexican restaurant going forward!

Great, authentic Mexican restaurant/bar in the heart of the Latin portion of Southwest Blvd in Kansas City. Tasty food and cocktails and wonderful service make this a place I never mind coming back to again and again.

My wife and I had a rare lunch opportunity so we took advantage of the time and visited El Patron. We started with a couple house margaritas and queso fundido. Both were fantastic!!! The start of the show was the combo plate with everything from chorizo to prawns! Enough for 4 easily…. Let’s just say we took home leftovers that we had for dinner!

This place has amazing Mexican food. The Queso Fresco is real gooey cheese and very tasty chorizo. Their signature dish is huge enough to feed 4 people and it was very tasty.

Incredible Mexican food!! I grew up on this type of food so quality is always a requirement. The service is attentive, the food comes out fast, and it’s absolutely delicious 😍 I tried the chicken mole but, to quote a random customer, “everything is good.” The only downside were the drinks which had a weird aftertaste (could’ve been the mix they use or their house liquor). However, it was happy hour, so you get what you pay for.

First time going there loved the stuffed avocados tasted so delicious. Good customer service. Atmosphere was descent .Will go again

One of my ALL Time favorites when visiting KC The owners are warm and welcoming! It shows throughout the time we were there as always!! Very well trained staff and GREAT food and drinks!!

The best Pozole ever - made fresh. Awesome coconut mojitos and strong margaritas. You've also got to have decent chips/salsa and they do!

Always a favorite for happy hour. The empanadas (especially potato and ground beef) are delicious. The salsa, the white cheese dip, and the margaritas are all fantastic too. Service is always friendly - but be prepared for a little noise if you go on a Friday or Saturday night because they are generally quite busy!

It's not an official Kansas City trip until we stop at El Patron. The spicy margaritas are a must. Staff has always been great.

Had a great dinner with our family for Father’s Day. Everyone like their food, I had the Monterey Fajitas which were fantastic! Don’t skip out on the fried Ice-cream!

We ate in the dining room. Waited for the patio to open so we could drink our pitcher of margaritas. Ask bartender if we could leave our box of food at the corner of the bar until we came back down? Was told Sure!! When we came back down to get our food the bartender told us she's tossed it cause we were gone longer than I guess she thought we should be!!! Was not happy! Had we of known? We would've taken it to the patio with us!! Not sure if we'll go back $70 later!!!!

Fantastic dinner! Chorizo Fundido for starters, carne asada burrito, oysters were flown in that day, and sopapillas for desert.

Good tex mex. Could use a little more heat (spice) but otherwise delicious. Service was fast and food was hot upon arrival.

Positive experience overall. Food was tasty, atmosphere nice, staff busy... so it's good, just not exceptional. The best thing was that the chicken had flavor. too many Mexican places around the area just have chicken and then it's put in a sauce. No... this was cooked with flavors. It appeared that there was a hostess, one server, and someone from the kitchen who was helping and they were pretty busy. Still, they got everyone taken care of. So, yeah, positive...just not great.

Kansas city! If you want authentic Mexican food, then there is no excuse to not go to El Patron! I'm quite certain that God Himself puts on a human disguise and eats their regularly! The dinner recipes are unrivaled and their handmade drinks are off the chain! Huge gratitude and props to Estella and her Family for everything they do to make El Patron so special!
