It's a relic from another century that was a huge necessity. It provided water to all the homes in the Kessler Park area and now has become a unique piece of history full of artwork, but I also thought there was a lot of great photo opportunities especially with the pond around at the bottom. There's a frisbee golf course that surrounds the outside of the reservoir basically taking up most of the open park space. It's awesome!

Stopping by this historic area of Kansas City is great. There is so much to see. This area has been described as “wild and rugged,” “handsome,” and “beautiful and picturesque”. There is an awesome scenic path for driving, biking, or walking. The park also has a trail. Take in all the views. The historic homes are amazing.

It was beautiful, well kept, trash cans were available, nice and easily accessible trails, legible plaques and a statue. Great place for photo ops for special occasions. They also have resting benches. It really is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely worth the trip. The entire area is guaranteed worth driving around if not just for this, the nearby park and Tiffany Castle, as well as numerous other sites in the vicinity.

“MAD IMPRESSIVE”- in a British accent/10 I was unirrevocably impressed with all the sights and sounds. My favorite type of grass is insignias such as green beans and tea. Thank you

A historic ridge that along with its own charm has had some of its antiquity preserved. Great frisbee golf course, trails for biking/hiking. Lots to see if you have the time, and appreciate nature. Found this amazing ancient tree with a 36foot diameter trunk. A local castle tiffany built in 1909.

I read the reviews saying that this park was overrun with homeless folks and I assumed it was exaggeration and it was judgmental people looking down on struggling people making Camp where they can. However now that I have visited and seeing what is left of the mountain biking trails I realize there is a problem here. I really hope there can be community housing and cleanup programs So we can help Our less fortunate neighbors while restoring the beauty of our parks.

We went to the Christmas light show here. It was a great drive-thru display. They synchronize the lights to music. Takes about 15-20 minutes to drive through. I would do it again next year. Make it a holiday tradition!

Nice place to play some disc golf...or maybe explore an old water reservoir

Dangerous place DO NOT GO HERE ALONE. Someone was shot during a massive disc golf tournament by a random person (if you really wanna disc golf near here just go to Rosedale.) Just stay away. The trails smell very badly as people were dumping trash here for years. (also a bunch of homeless camps in the deep woods.) Honestly a huge shame...as the abandoned reservoir is super sweet to see (just be careful and aware)

One of my favorite places to go in the Kansas city area. Any area with a little nature, tails and architecture. Just wouldnt recommended at night. But I encouraged people to try it out and when you're walking through do mother nature a favor and pick up any trash you see on the way. if every person picked up one peace it would be an even better park expecaily behind the domes on the trails. Thank you 😊 💓

I’m not sure if we were in the wrong area of the park or what, but what we experienced looked like a ghetto homeless camp. We wanted a nice, scenic trail to walk and it ended up being trashy, with nothing more to look at than tents and trash everywhere. Very disappointing.

The lake was a nice place of solace! To escape the bustle of the city and enjoy peace! There's a concrete landing with rails and the water came right to the lip of the landing! It's so peaceful there was around 10 or 12 deer around the lake when I arrived and only the fonds payed me any attention!

Very UNSAFE area. DO NOT COME. Went to both entrances of this park in March 2023. At the entrance closer to the "fountain", the road was blocked and the scenic drive has become a scenic walk. Oh and the fountain was also turned off in the winter. At the other entrance, we parked at a little parking area near the signs of the park. Then we got yelled at by a black lady telling us that this was private property and we needed to make ourselves "disappear" otherwise she would call the sheriff. Even when we were just driving past the entrance just to look for the park, she was flicking us off from the side of the road. This should not be listed as a park or it should be cared for better because more people who are not familiar with KC will come and run into the same thing.

Many homeless live here, but other than that it’s great! My only complaint is that everything is falling apart and wooden features are rotting. (P.S. you can find a lawn chair with a bucket under it overlooking the valley. [yes the bucket has poop in it])

Neat looking place. Someone was sleeping in a tent when we dropped by. Didn't walk the trail.

It's located in a historic town just North of downtown KCMO, it has walking trails within the park, informative plaques about the history of the town, and an amazing view of downtown KC. I highly recommend whether you are visiting or a resident of KCMO. As of August 2022 they are doing construction on a road that has access to the park. This is just one of the entrances into the park, you can find many more with Google Maps.

It's a good park with a lot of history surrounding it. Unfortunately parts of the park have become a place for illegal activities.

The park is beautiful but today mowers came finally to cut the grass and I would like to say they did a horrible job there are kids here everyday and this grass is almost long enough to bale for hay and they left big spots of long grass everywhere and to think there are snakes our and about!!! I am very disappointed in the mowers!

Let me save you some time. As of writing this review the "scenic cliff drive" road is blocked off to cars and is quite a long walk. You'd be alright on a bike. The rest of the park is overrun with trash and homeless encampments. The area is regularly noise polluted by people's loud bass-driven speakers. There's some impressive architecture in the neighborhood but nothing you haven't seen better kept and more respected elsewhere. This was the first park I've visited in KC that felt like a complete waste of a trip, and to think it's one of the top local attractions on Trip Advisor... It's a shame what the community has done to the place, no respect for their own amenities.

Came from River Market looking for a new bike trail other than the River Front and was pleasantly surprised! It is a very steep incline but the view is totally worth it. Road through the lower portion of the park on cliff drive(which is closed to cars). I also went up Maple Park to see the historic homes and Tiffany Castle. I was hesitant with previous reviews citing a homelessness problem-I only saw one homeless person minding their own. I felt safe seeing several other bikers/joggers on my Monday morning ride.
