Food came fast! Was delicious and pretty reasonably priced. It felt like we just sat down when food and drinks arrived. Our waitress was on top of everything. The atmosphere was really busy though, seems like a very popular hangout spot! Just keep in mind that it won't be a very quiet spot to eat, and you'll have a decent time, haha.

Very tasty. More on the authentic side than the tex mex that many are used to in this region. So I loved it! And the wait staff is super nice everytime. I recommend this one for sure.

Great experience! Our server was wonderful and I am sorry that I didn't catch her name. Food and margaritas were spot on. Glad I saved a little room for dessert

Ordered from here for my coworker and myself. His chimicanga looked really good. He said it was pretty good too. I like that there are a few vegetarian options including being able to build a plate. The "beef crumble" recipe needs some work. It was like a dry falafel mix and it wasn't great. I wish they had a veggie option for the chimicanga too. Overall, not too bad for the price and what you get.

I ordered lunch with my friends around 130 on a Monday. It was very nice cuz there were only A few people around. All the food was tasty and we had delicious frozen margaritas. Our server was very nice ! Will be back soon!

This place is always great. It seems to be very well-run, as the service is always efficient and excellent. Extensive menu with reasonable prices. One of the few places I can still get deep-fried beef tacos like I grew up with! Family owned and run for over 30 years. Yum!

Based on the reviews, we were really looking forward to our visit and ended up being incredibly disappointed. After answering several questions, my margarita came out in a tall plastic glass and no salt; had to go back. The guacamole was missing a lot; we added table salt to kick it up. We asked for 4 (only 4) street tacos; got 5 and were charged for 5. The carnitas were OK, nothing remarkable. Asked for Cuatro Taquitos, 2 shrimp/2 beef. See pic; I've never had taquitos that looked like tacos ~ I even confirmed with the server that these WERE Cuatro Taquitos. "Yes, yes, Cuando Taquitos". So, who's is right, Rudy's or every other places that serves taquitos? The entire meal was disappointing.

My wife and I are always looking for local gems in KC and we found this one! First the waitress Daniella (please excuse possible misspelling) was amazing! Very attentive and available, even with the restaurant being as busy as it was! The food was out quickly, and the margaritas were delightful! The atmosphere was jovial and fun with a live Mexican band playing in the background. It was a little loud because of the band, but I think that's what made it more fun because you could hear everyone enjoying their own conversations. The next time you have a taste for Mexican cuisine check out Rudy's!

My daughter and I came to visit for a girls weekend. We had dinner here tonight. The service, margaritas and trio fajitas was excellent. If back in town we will definitely come back. Reviews are huge and pay off when searching for good Mexican food.

The chicken street tacos were so delish!! And the hot salsa was very spicy and very good! I sat at the bar and the bartender this Wednesday made me an extremely yummy sangria freeze! And I ordered some chicken fajitas to go just to taste more of the menu at home! Great place! I loved it!

Soo Good🔥- Family dining. Don’t go here if you don’t like good drinks and a nice laid back bar. Don’t go here if you like fast food style Mexican food- this has an Authentic flavor. Don’t go here if you don’t want to get ADDICTED 🔥😍 sorry I missed better food pics… but that alone says how 🔥they are.

Great food. The tables are a bit close together but didn't affect our experience too much. Ordered the queso dip which has great flavor. Had the chicken flautas and they were pretty good. The rice and beans are really well seasoned.

During our visit to KC from Vancouver, CA. We stumbled across this great local spot while enjoying the beautiful neighbourhoods near by. Rudy’s had exceptional service! Fresh tortilla chips and salsa almost immediately after being seated followed with a drink order and delicious tacos!! This place is as filled with locals and definitely was the place we wanted to find to avoid the tourist hub. We will certainly be back!!

Wanted something different than our normal lunch stop and decided to try here. I got the Carne Asada Street tacos and they were fantastic. Excellent flavor in the meat and the cilantro wasn’t too overwhelming. I get mine without onions but it normally comes with them. It was reasonably price too! 5 tacos for 10 bucks. Cheapest I’ve seen in Kansas City. The salsa verde and the salsa roja are a must have with these tacos. I think found my new lunch spot.

Our dinner with you was excellent. We had out of town guests who raved about the food. Especially great for them is that your outdoor patio was dog friendly! They raved about the guacamole- it was really great. We all enjoyed our food, the staff was more than friendly and service was excellent from the manager to our servers. We highly recommend Rudy’s! Thank you for an enjoyable experience!

One star is a compliment if we are reviewing the food. Currently blowing Rudy’s out of me while I type this review. Been here for at least a half hour now, and still feel totally full of burrito, so gonna type out this review. My burrito had salsa that looked like it was imported from a Mexican waste water facility. Chips were ight. Salsa spicy. Makes me want apple. I ain’t even gonna spill all the beans with regards to their beans, but let’s just say ewww I do not recommend, but hey, it is convenient, being right across the street from the best of the best of the best.

This is my favorite Mexican place in KC. I've been eating here for nearly 20 years, and the consistency in quality has always amazed me. I suggest anything with their pork, it's the best!

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Rudy's after too, TOO long a time, and had a wonderful experience! We ate around 2:00 pm, so there weren't many customers; Miguel was our server and was very efficient and attentive. I had the Vegetarian plate (with quesadilla, fajitas, and nopalitos), and my husband had the enchiladas aztecas. Everything was delicious! I'd forgotten how tasty Rudy's tortilla chips are--light and crispy, not at all oily--and their salsa was excellent. I had a house margarita on the rocks which was well made and refreshing. The restaurant's space is bright, clean and welcoming, just like the staff. We had a great lunch and can't wait to return for our next meal! (By the way: for the first time, we decided to park in the corner lot that is designated for Rudy's customers, and it was a breeze to get into and out of. No more street parking for us!)

These were the best tacos I've ever had. I have never heard of someone deep frying tacos and topping with parmesan cheese and I'll be honest, it didn't sound ideal. I am glad to admit i was wrong! I came back the next day again before catching my flight back home. Even the Mexican rice is more flavorful than most to where I didn't want to eat beans with it and preferred it by itself. Take the rice and the hot salsa they serve with your chips and place them inside the tacos. They're even better that way!

I didn't love it like I hoped I would. Will try something different next time I go. Salsa, espinaca, and chips were top notch. The beans and rice were good too. Vermicelli was a little bland for my tastes. Cheese and onion enchilada was okay but I didn't care for my beef taco.

Fresh chips and salsa kick off a great local Mexican cuisine experience here. The folks I dined with ordered the largest nachos I've seen nearly anywhere! This location is right on Westport road, just a bit south of the historic 39th Street district, putting you close to other great food and shopping options.

We had dinner Monday evening. I understand they were understaffed and our server warned us she had just seated at table of 12. She did the very best she could do. Our main issue was the food. My husband ordered the tenderloin. Not your typical for a Mexican restaurant, but a friend had suggested it. When it arrived the bun was as hard as a rock… literally! Our poor server was no where to be found, so the other two guests had finished before he could see about getting another bun. He waited so long and finally just ate the meat, which was cold by this time. We showed the server the bun and she said I know. We will not return to Rudy’s This was actually a second chance anyway for one of the guest. One another note. There was two food runners leaning at the hostess deck that could have helped the two servers by filling our drinks that were never refilled. Very poor management that evening. And yes, we tipped our server over 20%.
