Shapes
is
often
referred
to
as
one
of
the
best
health
and
fitness
centres
in
the
city.
But
like
most
health
clubs
here
they
operate
on
a
simple
principle
i.e.
they
are
doing
YOU
a
favour
by
providing
you
access
to
sub-standard
and
beaten
down
facilities
for
the
good
money
that
you
pay.
I
go
there
once
a
week
to
play
squash.
They
used
to
have
two
squash
courts,
but
they
are
'renovating'
one
of
them
(and
it's
been
over
a
bloody
year).
The
other
court
looks
like
someone
walked
in
there
with
a
machine
gun
and
opened
fire.
Added
to
that
their
staff
give
you
the
impression
that
by
switching
on
the
lights
and
having
the
court
cleaned
with
a
broom,
they
have
done
you
service
fit
for
a
king.
The
staff
will
also
routinely
walk
in
to
say
hello,
hoping
for
some
free
cash.
I
haven't
used
any
of
their
other
facilities
but
the
gym
is
nothing
spectacular
either
from
what
I
saw.
And
they
love
holidays,
they
need
an
excuse
to
shut
down
their
gym
so
you
can't
use
their
facilities.
It's
only
because
I
can
play
there
for
free
(they
have
a
partnership
with
bank
Al
falah,
because
of
which
credit
card
holders
get
a
6-12
free
visits
a
month)
that
I
go
to
this
sorry
excuse
for
a
health
club
