GM was very empathetic... however non availability of shower towel was just mind boggling...how could a hotel/guesthouse not have towels??...I mean NO towels at all for all the guests staying in 50 some rooms?? And this is just not one-off thingy...this is a reoccurring, known issue to the management. There were other issues...but the GM personally took care of some of the issues. I'm holding back to be candid about my experience....out of courtesy and emphatic attempt that the GM, Mr. Tabish Khan made.... otherwise there is a lot of subject matter to chose from at the Gym Khana hotel.

The lodge rooms are for KG Members and their family/guests only, so this place is not open for public. Overall 2.5 star ratings as their can be a decent balance between the pros and cons to staying at this place. PROS: Safe, Secure, Clean, and ideally located. CONS: Very dated, extreme lack of facilities, questionable value for money. As of August 2023 the room rates were Rs. 17K/night including tax. This is at least 50% less than the rates of other famous brand hotels situated on this road. Room rate only includes room and breakfast. Any other facility you will have to pay like Swimming Pool Rs. 500/person, Gym Rs. 200/person. Here is a detailed review: Rooms: The rooms are very spacious, furnishing is very basic, ancient to a great extent. Very hard mattress, ordinary pillows, broken TV, old school and non functioning safe, broken and stained tiles. No work desk only a couple of chairs and a tiny coffee table. Sufficient power outlets with both round and square options, but the outlets are located at inconvenient places. Rooms on the South side are on the road side and pretty noisy as compared to the north side that faces the tennis courts. So always ask for north side. They have old school room keys so the guests get only 1 key in a really big keychain, not convenient to carry around. Also hard to share by 2 occupants of the room. Bathroom: Nice and spacious, shower pressure is very nice but shower cabin is too small, power outlets are available, again old infrastructure means slow drainage. Housekeeping: This is the Worst and 0 stars. They are extremely short on towels. Once they only gave 2 face towels and said the towels had gone to laundry and will be available next evening I.e. 24 hours later. A year later we faced the same problem. The housekeeping staff blatantly lied that they had replaced towels while they had not and once questioned they agreed to have lied. Had to talk to the housekeeping supervisor to get 2 fresh towels after 2 days. I would recommend to bring your own towels. Since they have staff available round the clock so they can make up the room at any time you ask them to. Laundry: For washing or ironing/pressing they take 31 hours. If you provide them clothes before 1 PM, you will receive them back next day at 8 Pm. Understandable for washing but for ironing it’s too long a wait. They have no in house ironing set up, and the iron they provide you in the room is again ancient and it’s useless for pressing any slightly formal or more creased clothes. Plus a greater chance of getting electrocuted. There are decent and faster service laundry shops at 5 minute drive from this place. Room Service: Really fast, wonderful and slightly spicy food, however the rates are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity. 5 Stars. Breakfast: You just have 2 choices, either bread and omelette or paratha/puri and curry. Their are few options to chose for omelets but that’s it. Only sweet and salted lassi is put out and even water you have to ask for the server. Very disappointing. Elevators: The elevators are extremely congested and only 2 of them for 4 floors and 40 odd rooms. Parking: Their are 5 outdoor parking slots available outside the lodge entrance. Otherwise you have to park in the basement, which is pretty big but during busy hours in evening you can’t find a spot there either. So that becomes another challenge if you don’t have a driver. Also without sticker vehicles entering KG is another issue so keep the room key with you. Recreational Facilities: The swimming pool is amazing and big with 6 lanes for length (25 meters) and a nice bid diving pool. Lodge guests can avail swimming facility at charges of Rs. 500/person/dip, Gym charges are Rs. 200/person/visit, for both the places you need to get a voucher from reception against your room that you provide at the specific facility to get access. Luckily walking track around the cricket ground is free. Staff: Will give 5 Star for the staff as they try to be as helpful as they can.

This is a premium one for it's classic style, comfort and privacy. The security is reasonably good. The most attractive element aiding it's Vue is being centrally locate and built some where in 1860. The gymkhana is equipped with modern facilities and cricket ground with an articulated walking track. Gym, fitness club, sona, jacuzy, steam and indoor sports like table tennis, squash and long teniss boasts its imminence. Uni sex Swimming pool, and pool for kids are like cherry on the cake. So with many more attractions this place is next to none.

One of my friend in khi booked a room for me in gymkhana. Paid around 14k for a night. Service was good plus had free excess to the swimming pool. I didn't like the room much as it was very small and very basic. The building has no lobby and very congested so you don't feel like being in a good hotel.

The ambience is good, breakfast is amazing and complementary as well. Rooms are maintained well. The staff is cooperative and caring as well. Loved the vibe. Stayed more than 5 times and they still amaze me with their hospitality.

Couldn't be better!! What a charming and hospitable place. The rooms are generously proportioned, with high ceilings and bright and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all so kind and helpful, especially Naila at reception. The swimming pool is exceptionally clean and very pleasantly situated. Fantastic. I must mention that the breakfast is free, but tilted heavily towards meat eaters, with no fresh fruit.

I would not recommend this place. Dirty sheets stains and old ragged towels. I complained and asked to talk to the manager. No phone call or explanation for the dirty sheets and old towels. I would rank this hotel a 1 star hotel. I will Never go back.

Nice place to stay, no doubt the breakfast was complementry, but was not proper, all pans at serving stations were not properly maintained, stuff of outher pans was mixed with other ones, which may be taken care of. Regards

One of the best places to stay in Karachi when away from home. Central part of the building was built in 1900. Lodges are newly built and currently further extention and facilities have been planned. The bakery is a must yry6

A great facility available for members of eligible clubs . Centrally located, with clean rooms (non smoking), attentive staff, efficient check in and check out. The main club veranda offers informal cafe/dinning & provides a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy the KARACHI breeze.

There were some smaller cobwebs in our room, cigar burns on the room floor, dirt embedded on shower walls. Nothing disgusting but not very nice -Air conditioning in our room was quite minimal even at the highest setting, we visited someone elses room a floor above us (which was the same price as ours) and their AC felt much much stronger
