This place has unexpectedly such peaceful ambience which makes you feel close to the nature. Located in the heart of Kathmandu at Thamel you can't expect to find such a Peaceful place amidst such hustle and bustle. The food was really good and I found their serving style quite unique. They have wide range of Tibetan dishes. Tried wanton and momos and both were so good. The dips provided were amazing. The restaurant also stands good in terms of hygiene and maintenance. The staffs are very polite and professional as well.

It is a pretty famous Tibetan restaurant in Kathmandu. It is frequented by local celebrities. This place has a peaceful atmosphere, and since it is surrounded by a lot of plants, it will make you feel as if you are not in Kathmandu. The staff are well-behaved, and the food is good. The prices are inclusive of all taxes which I think is very important. It is a good place to try Tibetan food, but they also serve Nepalese and Indian dishes. You can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Must-visit restaurant.

Where to start... We had the Chicken chili, chicken mushroom curry, chicken shabhalay (deep fried flat dumplings) and ting momo (tibetan puffed bread). All were wonderful. The chicken chili reminded us of Kung Pao chicken without peanuts - sauce was delicious. Curry is not what we expected at all of curry - very mild and the chicken was tender. The dumplings were great, flaky and crisp with good filling. Finally, the side saues were great, with the hot sauces being spicy. All in all, a wonderful restaurant. Will be coming again to try the set menu courses.

Laid back vibe while maintaining a quiet atmosphere is not an easy thing to create but they’ve done it here. We cane for the monks and we were absolutely thrilled with what we got. Highly recommended when you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the market along with some world class food. Highly recommended!

I am absolutely disappointed by how unmatched the ambience and the food is. I love the decorations and the Tibetan theme, however the food could not be any more disappointing. The Gyuuma was dry and overcooked instead of being soft and tender. All taste was lost due to the charring and its dryness. The big pork momo was very salty, and the distinct taste of pork meat was not there at all, masked by all the salt and onion fillings. Big chicken momo was okayish, however still a tad bit too salty. The soup for both chicken and buff wonton were delicious, the only ones among our entire order. The wonton themselves were okayish, which isn't a good thing because it did not have the taste exclusive to the wonton. The syaphale was not anything to praise either. In all my explorations around the valley for food, this is perhaps the one that disappointed me the most, especially considering the price and its prime location, and its exclusive Tibetan theme. Definitely not recommended at all.

In the busy streets of Thamel we found this quiet beautifully designed oriental restaurant run by a couple educated in Darjeeling. The owner an ex Loreto Convent student whose taste in the layout is so homely and it has the rare Bhutanese touch. Food was very good specially the guema local sausage. All must taste the delicious Bhutanese dishes served with red rice from Bhutan only.

Despite being located in a busy area, it is good and the environment is pleasant. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. I must say, good service. The only issue is that they don't have a parking space of their own. You can, however, park in Chhaya Center.

Tucked away in a small alley, this restaurant comes with a garden and has outdoor seating options, which is perfect to enjoy a meal with the cool nights of Kathmandu. They serve good hearty Tibetan food, but you can also order Bhutanese and Nepalese set meals, and they have vegetarian options. Good service, prices are reasonable and inclusive of taxes. Has a bar serving cocktails and many whiskey options.

Nice garden Bhutanese restaurant, a bit on the expensive side. Ambience is very nice and we'll decorated. No parking! Most seating are outdoor, may get chilly. Had to wait a bit for our order. Chicken Momo was really good, but we were utterly dissappointed with the sauce for the momo, it tasted raw. The other two sauces were extremely spicy. Shyabhale was good too. BBQ pork was well cooked but sauce was ready made bbq sauce. Chicken lollipop good. Ting momo with chicken curry was interesting and mild.

One of the best momo place in Kathmandu, however not so easy on pocket that I would go here everyday. The momo here is so damn good, that you could go on eating and eating, also the drinks are nice. Food, service, ambience everything is perfect.

A virtual oasis in the heart of the city. Great food from Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. It has been my favorite for decades for momo and thukpa. The restaurant is centrally located and yet surprisingly you feel disconnected from the grime and noise of the city. Definitely a place to go eat if you want great quality food in a peaceful and clean environment.

I absolutely loved the food here! I'd suggest try pork ribs and chicken curry with rice also spinach. There are so many great options for vegetarians as well. The space is lovely and the staffs are friendly m it's the kind of place you should go when you want to try something different from your normal food palate.

I tried different types of Momos which were good. U can try without getting disappointed. Also we ordered some veg platters It was ok. U can order hard drinks also. People prefer Old Durbar black chimney in Kathmandu, I took the same.

This is a great spot to enjoy authentic Bhutanese and Tibetan cuisine, as well as Nepalese dishes. Although the menu prices may appear high, remember that all taxes are included.

Great ambience and quiet calm place in between the hustle bustle of Thamel. Loved the momos and shyafaleys. The only downside is the high price and no parking space in the premise.

Even after years of serving Bhutanese and Nepali dish in the unassuming part of touristy Thamel, Dechenling still serves great food and ambience perfectly in the summer heat. Their open garden is something rare in Thamel and the ambience represents a Bavarian forest-style open space perfect to accompany a glass of good beer. If you are a Momo lover, this is one place you should not miss. They are served in small versions of Momo making dish itself. Do not underestimate veggie momos here that is filled with a unique taste of spinach and cheese. Also try out their cheese pakora, Shaphaley and Dapau (veggie, chicken, mutton, pork or buff varieties). Ema Datchi is also serves here. However, their Indian tandoori dishes has not been recently operational though mentioned in the menu. The only thing you will miss here is a good desert.

Ambience is chill, and serene. Garden is really beautiful and even more so at night. For the price the food is below average. You are paying for the ambience and hospitality but disappointed with the food. Chicken chilly was so average, it had too much sauce to get any other flavours. Pork bao was too salty; it was their special that night but meh. Pork BBQ was good but the sauce they provide didn't go well with the dish.

A little expensive and also a little limited in food options. They had only Bhutanese and tibetan food and they weren't serving Indian food even though it was in the menu. The decor, ambience and feel, however, was great. Overall, an ok experience. You should go there if you want some tibetan food with a nice atmosphere.

Really nice place and amazing atmosphere. It’s reasonably priced with very high quality food and staff is very helpful. I was about to order more and the person recommended that the food might be too much for us and we could always order again. I am thankful as that was very good advice. We ordered Bhutanese Set, Shabhalay with mint lemonade and Chura Momo for two. Highly recommend place for people who like to treat their tastebuds. Note: We spend about 3000 NPR for 2 person dinner.

Beautiful location and friendly service. I had one Buthanese dish and it was delicious. Prices are higher in comparison to similar locations in Thamel

The ambience of the restaurant is really lovely. A peaceful garden restaurant in the middle of the busling city is different to find. The staff are also really friendly and service is also really good. The food tastes really great and is worth the money you spend.
