Mutton biryani was decent given the price, but I would have liked to see more pieces of meat served with it. The Rogan Josh, while not authentic compared to the ones found in Kashmir, was still a very good "normal" mutton curry. We didn't have to wait a long time for the food to arrive and there was ample seating available for more people.

If someone have come to thamel from pakistan, india or bangladesh this is the only place where you can have similar taste of food from home country. Their food doesn't have a smell like other restaurants in thamel. You will enjoy every single item they have, except biryani rice it has way too much black pepper aroma. If you like sour taste then you can try their mutton yakni it is best with rice but not with roti and you have to try their buff it's good. Their pricing is way cheaper than any other restaurants, I relatively eat alot than average person and I had to pay only 450 nepali ruppee. It's the best restaurant for foreigners.

This is just good home cooking food. This place is tiny and always has guests when we went there. The taste is more authentic here than most places we have eaten in Nepal. Love the mutton biryanis. The rice is perfect every time.Wish they would added one or more pieces of mutton to the dish.

For the first time i ordered chicken tanoori from this restaurant and i have been regularly ordering it since then. This place is a gem! The tandoori is so soft and juicy. Plus the price is very reasonable. Will be ordering in regular basis now. For a change, i ordered chicken biryani but it was not so nice. Go for veg biryani instead.

Yes we visit this place regularly, it's a decent place for very good food at a very reasonable price. But once when we ordered chicken biryani, they served us colourful fry rice with gravy chicken 😛😛 Everything else is good no complaints.

Ma Sha Allah, the food (halal) served here is super delicious. They accept Indian currency as well. Pair it with a cup of tea in the afternoon

Best halal Indian food around Kathmandu! The location is quite secluded which makes it good that there is no vehicles honk sound. The price is very affordable for backpackers. It's not expensive compare to other restaurant around thamel. The curry and yoghurt soup mutton is very tasty.. the naan sold here is very affordable as well

Briyani was superb, both mutton n chicken. Its naan is heavenly, best 1 I had within the 10days in Nepal. A bit small shop to fit 10pax in 1 go. Doesnt look great fr the outside too.

There is a small space at the front and they have another bigger place inside. The picture is of that space. We loved all the food we had ordered. My girlfriend is a regular and old customer of this place. This was my 1st time here and absolutely loved the tandoori chicken and kebab. Prices are attractive too. This restaurant is one of the best places around thamel for Kashmiri food on a budget. Don't miss this place.

Definitely not recommended... I went here with my friends and it was my choice to go here. We ordered chicken butter masala, buff nurani, nan, jeera rice, plain rice and we found cockroach is our dood which was very disappointed.

Variety options of local food, serve good mutton biryani, large portion, reasonable price. There is a construction site next to it, hence the environment is a bit dusty, I hope it will improve after the construction is completed. It is like an unpolished gemstone hidden in an alley, one day it will shine.

I have been ordering food from here via bhoj deal and until now i have got zero regrets, food is top notch. And i don't miss india much, because its kinda of similar to food in India. This the best restaurant for me.

This place is really nice for food though the atmosphere is not that great. It's a very old Muslim restaurant, you get Halal food here. Chicken Kadai and Naan is a must try item here. Parking only for Bike. They need to work on Hygiene, especially around washroom and Kitchen.

Good food, cheap price. I took a Buff biriany. Was good. They have 2 sitting arrangement. I was confused at first seeing very small close to kitchen place. Later found the real one inside

It's a small place just off the road that is in the same line as LOD. Good for meat lovers. Chicken Biryani and chicken roast was good. I loved their butter garlic naan. Would recommend it!

For those seeking for the comfort of Indian food in Kathmandu, Al Madina is the place to go!! Since it's corona time, only the small room was open which has like 4 to 5 dining tables. However, the food is A1. Must try - Chicken lollipop, Sheekh Kabab, Chicken Kadhai with Roti. The quantity of the Kadhai is great. 2 people can easily eat in Half. However, you get only 4 peices in seekh kabab and 6 in lollipop which is standard I guess. The food tastes amazing. And it is fairly reasonable. Must try!

This is the local joint for Kashmiri cuisine.. I landed up accidently to this place in 2012 as I was searching for a high end place but got here as I forgot the name of the place. It was Dashain and though the place was closed, the owner dished up two plates of Kabab and biryani especially with a smile. I have been to this place multiple times and have taken ppl here, it has delighted. Update on lockdown menu is that they serve limited cuisine on the menu now and few of the items do get out of stock as they are working on a lockdown. If you were to go here in your four wheeler, park at chaya center and walk over to this place, there is parking space for two wheeler.

Been coming here for a long time since I live around and it's quite nice. It's a nice place for Muslim since they're all halal served and they got quite nice space even if you're a large group and if you're an indian food lover. It's perfect for your taste.

Biryani is good here with seekh kabab.. Try in ones.

We were here this evening and took a table but the waiters were not interested at all for taking order even waiting for several minutes . It clearly looked like they were only waiting for the foreigners and they totally ignored us and wanted us to leave . This is not the way to treat hungry customers and this pathetic place is an absolute shame to great Nepali hospitality. They can mention in the board of they are only expecting particular guests. Never knew we have this sort of restaurant with zero sense of hospitality in Kathmandu.

The staff was very rude and careless.i go there for dinner almost every night.i ordered a chicken biriany which was not good at all, then i complained to the staff he said to me "yesterday you said biriany was good but today you're complaining about the biriany?" then i told him i haven't had the biriany yesterday he replied "our Biriany is always like this if want to have it or not it's your choice".he should ask me what is the problem but he hasn't bothered about the complain and his reply was very rude and rubbish. Apart of Biriany rest of the food was good. Boss man should look after the customers and train his staff about good customer service. They have 2 restaurant i went to 2nd one which one is far from kitchen.

Tasty food for a decent price on the edge of Thamel. They offer full or half portions, so there's a way to save even more if you're not terribly hungry. Place frequented mostly by the locals, not tourists. I've tried aloo gobi and mutton biryani with salted lassi and I recommend both, even if the portion of meat in the biryani could be slightly more generous.

we went there just once for karahi chicken which was very good and cheap. Service is basic. Unfortunately they threw away my left overs although I asked to get them for take away.

Good flavorful food, fast service, reasonably priced. Had the 1/2 chicken biryani, garlic naan, palak paneer for 500 npr total. Stuffed myself silly. No fancy interior just good eats.
