Visited as a guest in the Firefly Backpackers for lunch . We were entertaining friends from India, and enjoyed our balcony side table. I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a delightful experience with the greenery. This place has the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. The waiters recognized that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. Staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. Kudos!

Good enough hostel close to the main tourist area. Staff are kind and helpful, and the reception is open 24/7 donuts good for late check ins. Hot showers available and relatively cosy beds.

Awesome hipster hostel. Feel like dancing ? Getting drunk ? Or just to be an environment that is as lovely as the streets of Kathmandu. this hostel and it's sweetest staff are on fire all the time. They know how to show you a good time.

Very cheap but be aware internet very spotty and many of the electric plugs do not work. Chill spot for sure. Restaurant food pretty good.

Staff is friendly and open-minded, but customers..f** hippies with no culture and no manners. Dirty and smelling everywhere, however staff has cleaning every day. Besides, some drunk guy slept on my bed.. Never again and 3* - only because of tactful administration.

I booked this hostel by online and i got it what i have wanted. It was very simply the best. The owner welcomed me very smily face and show me up room, restaurant and told me about all posibilities. Everything was clean and quite. The price as well as food was ok. I would go next time again for sure. Recommended !!!

One of the cheapest hostel in Kathmandu, you'll not get in this price anywhere in Kathmandu. This Hostel is not only place for staying, this is the place where you get the family here. You'll get here new friends from India & also from abroad. Here's everything is so cool, mainly the owner is so friendly and the staff too. I just disappointed in bathroom overall the hostel is too good. Best hostel for travellers!! 😊❣️

I was in Nepal for more than a month with 2 friends, we stayed at fireflies the first week and the last two (we were supposed to leave earlier but the airport closed because of covid-19). Everyone in the hostel treated us like a family, everyone's always sharing and that's great. the vibe is chilled all the time, amazing staff. bedrooms were clean and at least one of the 2 shower was always hot. food is cheap and they also let you use the kitchen you you need!!! I would definetfly recomand fireflies for those who aren't looking for a mainstream and touristy hostel, fireflies is different here you can meet travellers and the best nepali people!!!

Maybe we we're just to tired for this place having just arrived from New Zealand but this place was far to noisy for a decent night's sleep. On the other hand staff we're friendly and welcoming. If your after a party hostel then this is your place but if your looking for somewhere quiet and traveling in a pair you can find yourself a hotel room in the center of Thamel for a similar price.

Perhaps because I've been backpacking in India my expectations of hostels are higher, but this place while wholesome was not really my cup of tea. The dorm I stayed in was long and narrow and because I was in the back bunk, at the furtherst end of the dorm, it was really stuffy. It smelled of body odour. The low ceiling and close space between beds resulted in a claustrophobic feeling. It's like a crusty teenagers bedroom. For the price sure it was fine, but I've paid similar prices in other countries for much cleaner spaces. The booking specified a free breakfast and this is not the case. All in all, not bad but there are so many in the area I'm happy to shop around.

Good place

The Fireflies Hostel was much more alive than the pictures. A friend of mine suggested me to stay here and I have not regret this decision. It’s clean and loaded with amenities (free Wifi, hot shower etc) , while still being very cheap! The staff were very welcoming and took utmost care of comfort. The cafe on the second floor is quiet and so peaceful, ideal for reading and relaxing. Overall I had a great time. Food quality at the cafe was surely good but a bit on the expensive side compared to the room tariff. My only regret is that I had a very short stay planned. Next time I will be staying much longer for sure. I highly recommend this place for solo backpackers visiting Kathmandu!

Cool rooftop patio. Nice people, good food in the restaurant. Hot shower 😊 pretty chilled out place. I stayed for 3 nights.

Very friendly hosts. They even offered me free pizza and momos, and helped me bargain on local shops. Highly recommend if you're backpacking, and love interacting with people!

The place is very beautiful and the people are kind and hospitable. I don't see any problem because with the staff everything fine. Thanks to firflies See you next time
