Staff were very nice. The rooms were not up to a reasonable standard in my opinion. The pool is terribly in need of repairs. Nothing like the pics advertised. The cushions around the pool are not there like pics, only had just a few very dirty torn ones, No pool bar either as advertised, also no room service as advertised. And if u want breakfast u have to walk down the road not in the hotel. The balcony in the room is Rusty and paint pealing off, if u touch it you end up with flakes of paint all over your hands. I think the pics for this hotel are when it was new. Although its very cheap its worth looking at before you book to avoid disappointment as the place is in need of maintenance and refurbishment. And nothing like the pics. I actually paid 13 nights over the internet and I'm forfeiting 11 nights and going to another hotel. Its just not what I expected. I would give it 2 stars but because the advertisements for the hotel are far from the truth I give it a 1 star.

When we arrived, we were hesitant to check in. First off, the name at the lobby of the hotel says "Brothers Residence" and not Asialoop which was already off putting. But since we were paying about $20 USD total for two nights for each room (we got 2 separate rooms), we decided to go ahead and check in. Before I begin, I want to preface my review by saying that yes this is a value stay. I understand that it is a no-frills stay. Overall, the place was technically livable. When we got in our rooms, they both smelled moldy. I understand that this is a beach city so it basically smells like someone came in from the beach with wet clothes but there's no ventilation in the rooms so it never airs out. When I looked at the sheets, they were not 100% clean. It also smelled like someone had laid in the bed right after coming in from the beach which means room service didn't do a great job. Speaking of room service, each morning they knocked loud and came right in around 10am. I would yell "mai ow" which means "I don't want" yet she still came in and put two water bottles on the dresser. This is all while I'm laying in the bed still trying to sleep. So rude and not good service. The next morning, I kept yelling "Mai ow" and when she opened my door, I said it so sternly that she just quietly closed the door and didn't come back in. There was NO hot water heater for the shower so the water was cold and I don't mean lukewarm. I mean absolutely COLD. That was disappointing and uncomfortable. Around 4am on Sunday (16 July), the water pressure got really low (used the toilet in the middle of the night). When I finally woke up around 10am, the water was completely off. I phoned the front desk and they said they knew about it. At this point, I was totally disgusted so I just washed and brushed my teeth with bottled water and went to check out. Oh - the walk to the elevator is just as gross. The hallways stink and there was a mattress just sitting in the middle of the walkway all weekend. Once I got on the elevator on Sunday, it was pitch black. Luckily, I only went down two floors but that's ridiculous. Upon checking out, the lady at the front desk was rude and short. The man who checked us in was kind and professional but the lady staff member on the morning of July 16 was NOT. I waited about 10 minutes for her to phone housekeeping and have them check my room before she could return my 2000 baht deposit. The hotel is a 20 - 25 minutes walk to the beach and 30+ minutes walk to the bars. Oh, I also never checked out the pool but my friend did and she said the pool itself is decent but the chairs and pool area was ridiculous. I didn't even feel the need to go check it. I also recommend getting a room with a balcony or at least a window. Otherwise, it's even more depressing. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again - there are other budget hotels in the area that would probably be better.

Room was covered with water from the air conditioner, TV didn't work and the shower was cold. I quietly spoke to reception about these items, only to be yelled at stating 'No refund'. I was given another room with leaking a/c, cold shower and no TV working. again advised staff. Nothing done about this after 2 days, so I left for another Hotel, with no refund to me. Would not recommend this hotel even though the price was low.

Musky smell in the room. The floor is sticky, dirty and sandy. The worst part was their bed full with bugs!!! When lodged complaint, the staff just ignored us. Aircond not cool at all. Elevator breakdown for the past 6 months and was told by the staff that their management has no intention to repair it. Was cheated as there is no swimming pool. You need to walk to another hotel to enjoy the pool facility and breakfast. Towels will change 2 days once. At the lobby, witnessed their cleaner swept all the debris and kept it under the couch! Not going to stay in this hotel anymore. If possible, it will be ZERO star! Not recommended at all.
