Supper nice staff in all areas from the front desk, housekeeping, restaurants to all representative !!! There might be line for checking in and checking out. Just be patient as they serve others like you. They will welcome you with cold drink while you are waiting. In the time we stayed, there was two locations for breakfast both of them are good. One of them had more options and crowded and the other was good enough to avoid the noise. You can borrow towels from reception or use from the stations beside pool. Bar and restaurant is good enough to enjoy your vacation. My family and I enjoyed our vacation staying here. Once again all staffs are lovely and supper polite.

Everything but five stars would be unfair. It’s a great location, great property, family friendly, great service with response time measurable in seconds on the chat app. Lots of kids and adult activities, different restaurant options and simply fabulous food. There is a buffet option every day with incredible price to quality ratio. We would come here again during the next Phuket vacation. Only but: the beach while looking nice is extremely rocky and more suitable for snorkeling with high tide for adults then anything else. It’s not a beach for kids or swimming.

Good for snorkeling during high tide. House reef. Unfortunately too many just walked on the reefs during low tide. Check for tides schedule

This resort is an absolute must for anyone going to Phuket for a holiday. It's a 7-minute ride from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. It's tucked away on an absolutely private beachfront. They have a buffet 😋 breakfast, and every night, they have a different themed buffet dinner. Thai night was the best and probably the best Thai food I've ever had, AND there was a very happy lady walking around with a wheelbarrow full of FREE Coronas . We had a pool access room, which is a must as it does change the whole experience. The happy hour at the pool bar was a bit hit. Buy one, get one free for 6 hours every day. I can't fault this place.. .

All in all a good family friendly resort. Pros: Private beach. Huge well maintained swimming pools The breakfast was great. The restaurants were of a good standard and reasonably priced. Great kids club Cons: Way out if you don't have a car. People smoking on balconies in non smoking parts of the hotel. Pillows were uncomfortable and there was no option to get better ones.

It’s not as great as the reviews suggest. The beach is mostly rocky, the corral are dying or already dead, there’s so much organic materials accumulation that it’s hard to see much down there. The beach is super shallow so not worth it for snorkeling. If you want a better experience head towards Laem Sinh beach.

Had the most amazing time staying at this hotel... there are only 2 things to consider that were negative. 1. The location is remote and you cannot just walk off of the resort to go to a town or night market you must get a taxi.. and taxis are difficult to get from this hotel unless u want to pay extortionate fees from the taxi company opposite. And 2. The beach is beautiful to look at but nearly impossible to swim in.. the sea is shallow for a very long way out and the rocks below are very sharp... I cut my ankle 3 times in about 20 mins in the sea... the pool is the main area to stay at in this hotel. Everything else in the hotel is amazing.... Rooms are clean and tidy, beautiful looking too. Food is amazing and the service in the restaurants are above and beyond. Bottled water is provided as much as you want in your room which is great as there is no local shop without a taxi ride. Swimming pool is AMAZING, best pool in a long time Thank you

A very good hotel resort. I visited during the Phuket Sandbox, and there were plenty of guests which helped keep the place lively...more so than other resorts, which is a big plus. It had 3 swimming pools, 2 of which are connected in a very interesting way, which makes if a fun place to be. It lsl has it's own beach..Merlin beach, although not a private beach, and lacking any lifeguards. A nice variety of foods on offer, bit not so many choices for great Thai food which let's it down a little. A great place to stay, but feels a little top catered towards American & European tourists, which makes it lack the authentic Thai feel I have found in other hotels.

Worse Marriott we have been in terms of service, this is a shame because the hotel is in a nice location. I believe they use to have great service. Slow check-in, no reply from management on my email after more 30 days (sent to Camille Ramon), terrible service at the restaurant and when you try to reach them on the phone you don't know who you are talking too (Marketing department), they told in in writing that they are not allowed to say who they are. I have been staying in hundreds of 5* hotels in SEA should really upgrade its standards. Maybe time for the general manager Trevor May to be aware a bit of what is happening in his hotel...

failed. I should foot the bill for the doctor to attend to my wife 13,500 bahts. That is not the thing I expected from a five-star resort. I want to put on record that hopefully the Top management will review, train, and improve the Front desk manager's professionalism, and keep your promise to your guest when you assure me that you will send the email to me. and food management. It is understandable, that problems can happen, but I expect the 5-star Hotel management to act and manage it professionally and take corrective action when I express concern and warn of the house fly issue from the first day. Jeremy did reply to my email, mainly defending the Hotel instead of replying to the issue that I raised, the waiter served the coconut with his thumb in the coconut water while carrying it to my table and many house flies on the foods I quoted from Jeremy's reply, instead of replying to the issue of thumb in the coconut water and many house flies on the foods, giving an unhelpful reply, saying there is NO problem at all. "After investigation, there is no indication of breakdown of our food safety system. Also there is no other guest incident of food borne illness. " Overall the attitude of the staff in the Hotel was very polite and helpful. If not for the fly and poor food handling by its waiter putting a risk of food poisoning, it would be a good place. Attached are the photos and video of the fly. I hope I don't need to use the recorded conversation unless keep my proof, should the manager deny it. Gilbert

Came from the States for our honeymoon. This was the second stop on our trip. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The pools were amazing and very well kept. The service was great, and requests were done very quickly. They really want to ensure that you feel welcomed and well taken care off. Great for families and couples. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Overall a safe choice for 5 star accommodation in an area close to Patong. Typical Marriott experience though nothing exceptional.. especially the distinct lack of motivation and service at the beachside bar ... the staff have more interest in chatting with each other rather than being able to serve a simple beer... don't bother to request a napkin.. you will be told to go to the restaurant and get one yourself. The rooms are airy and bright with excellent views of the delightful bay that surrounds the establishment. The reception staff are hit and miss.. my check in was 5/10 my checkout 9/10.. to some extent dictated by the level of traffic. Great for kids.. and extended families.. the breakfast buffet is a highlight.. though always extremely crowded. Good hotel... though not great.. there are others that are much better though for families.. well worth considering

Absolutely loved the place! Huge pools!Spectacular pool bar! Immaculate and clean beach and pools! Breakfast was vast and had Indian options as well! Fantastic kids club! Had loads of activities for toddlers too! Our little one had a wonderful time! The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful! The only limitations were: 1) Merchant kitchen for breakfast buffet really got crowded around 9 am and had a waiting queue 2) The beach was beautiful but was rocky and not suitable for swimming/ beach side activities Traveller Tip: 1) Go for Premium pool view room! The deluxe rooms are at the far end of the resort and at considerable distance from main pool area and the beach! 2) The beach has some local massage parlours for foot massage! The pricing is equivalent to the ones in Patong! So one can save a trip there!

We got married on Merlin Beach, luckily at high tide, and it was glorious! Amazingly beautiful beach, and perfectly quiet. You actually can access the beach without staying at the resort. There’s a side entrance down a dirt road, you’ll need to take a left turn down the side of the resort. Lots of other great spots to stop along the way too!

The room was amazing. The resort is great for families with small children. If you don’t have children with you I would stay elsewhere. Also it’s on the other side of Patong Beach which is a nightmare to get through if you have anything planned in the northern part of the island. The service was good for a large resort along with the food. The reef for snorkelling was by far the highlight of the trip. I will say the restaurants have weird hours and it’s hard to find a snack after 6 pm if you don’t want a full meal. Also you are required to make reservations at the restaurants or you are seated along the noisy walkway outside of the restaurant. It’s nice that they have plenty of chairs and umbrellas for everyone so that’s not an issue. An overall okay experience.

Amazing hotel for families. It is safe, clean, and the staff are super friendly. We stayed at a larger terrace room at ground floor right in front of the kids pool. My children enjoyed walking on the lawn, watching people at the patio, or dipping their toes into the pool to test the temperature. Food was affordable (compare to other hotels) and delicious, especially the oven baked pizza. The Thai restaurant offers a good selection of Asian kids meal, too. We purchased the M Passport package so kids eat for free. There are so many activities at hotel, it is hard to get bored. This is definitely one of the hotels I would come back to with my family. We all loved it here!

I recently stayed at the hotel and I was blown away by the well-maintained resort. The pools were clean, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The highlight of my stay was the beautiful beach, it was the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. The only complaint I had was the service at the beach bar. During happy hour, the drinks took over 30 minutes each night to receive. I have to give a special shoutout to the staff at the Merchant Kitchen, Jib, Nook and Boom, who went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. They are truly an asset to the hotel. I would definitely stay at the Phuket Marriott Merlin Beach hotel again in the future.

Highly recommend for kids! There are 3 big pools and special one for small Children. The room is regular size but nice. Rich breakfast, good service and clean facilities. It’s in a quiet area 10 min drive from Patong . Beach is rocky so it’s hard to Go inside during some hour of the day. If you wish to go to Patong you can’t do It by walk you will need a taxi or scoter 7-10 min drive. Paradise beach one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket is pretty close .

We had a great time at the Resort. The rooms were decent, with bath tub, had a pool view and service was great. The pools were huge, clean and there's kids play area in the pool. The BEST part, there's a Kids Club, where my kids were entertained with a full day of activities! The resort has a private beach area too, we loved the tidal pools when it's low tide, we could walk out and observe the sea creatures that's trapped in the tidal pools (highlight for the kids). Food selection was not a concern at all - there were a good range of restaurants available within the resort. Service was top notch, the staff were friendly and approachable. We totally enjoyed ourselves and we can't wait to return again!

Staffs are very important in hotel business. Staffs here are excellent. Food is good. Bed is comfy. The room equip with all basic needs. What I like very much & not every 5 star hotel have is life music. The band is good, singers are good entertainers. There are more guests drink & eat at the lounge on the day the band play. We had a good stay.

Average place below average services. Good for families - can improve on many services. Pools were under staffed, there is towel hut on each side of the resort, you have to walk a distance to get your towel. There are no lifeguards at any pools or even at the beach. Bathrooms near pool are not kept clean. The food was just okay in all their restaurants, presentation and service was at minimal nothing you would notice. Rooms are nice and specious, the bed is comfortable but it looks like budget hotel. The Spa is small and overcrowded, they booked our couples spa in separate rooms. Overall definitely not at a 5 star standard.

Not enough sun beds for total number of guests. Would help if they had used towel bins and rubbish bins. Shuttle bus is good but doesn't go very often so you are limited, especially for return times. Otherwise the food is great, service is great, very clean. Lovely rooms. Beach is lovely. Recommend it for families as there is loads for kids.

A beautiful beach and great breakfast! They provide a number of activities, you can play snooker, go to the gym, do Thai boxing, so you want be bored. Pools are clean and there is a considerable number of food and drinks around the whole hotel complex. You will never be hungry or thirsty. Staff is kind and polite, however English is not their forte, you might run into some misunderstanding. Their life music events just create a great evening atmosphere so enjoy the shows. We had trouble with transport from and to the airport, a lady at the reception desk didn't seem to grasp the idea of paying for something in advance and wanted us to pa again, but we solved that in the end. Rooms are clean ad room service is great. One big compliment for providing a to of free water and even sustainable water bottle for the beach or trips. The hotel is also trying to do small renovation projects to rejuvenate the overall structure. I can recommend it to families as well, kids corner etc. provide enough activities for the little smurfs of all ages.

It was definitely a great experience overall. We stayed here for 4 nights, we booked an ocean view room (not sure it worth though, as we could still hear cheers from the pool). The room was big and clean, very comfortable. Cleaning was good, nothing to comment. Breakfast was good, covering anything you might want. Plenty activities and facilities, really great venue. The annoying thing was that there were so many kids at the pool and it was so bothering. I don’t recommend this for a couple holiday, you can’t relax in yelling and cheers and all that. For family holidays, I guess it’s perfect. For the sea and private beach, it’s beautiful, but don’t expect to swim. Wish i would have read this information somewhere before booking. So if you enjoy traveling to Thailand and staying at the pool, this is great. Yes, they provide shuttle service, but it’s more handy to have a location close to beach, shops and stuff. Of course, not anyone sees a problem in this. But thank you, we felt great here, really great hotel.

We stayed 3 nights. Everything was good overall. Lots of choices on the breakfast buffet. There are three pools here. The only issue we had was contacting them on phone. There were multiple times we called the other Marriott to get a hold of this location.

Impeccable hotel for sandbox , everything is so perfect, and the breakfast is amazing. The staff is the nicest, just everyone is super nice. And the 3 pools all so good. And just a short bike ride to Freedom Beach one of the best beaches in Phuket!

Great, quite location with modern buildings, a private beach and very friendly employees. The food in the four restaurants is also very tasty. Will come back very soon and stay for some more relaxing weeks.

Just spent 2 weeks at the resort. What a wonderful time! The staff ware so friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable which is very important to me. There are 3 pools in the hotel and each one is fantastic. So relaxing. If you enjoy swimming, you would love this place. The buffet breakfasts in the morning were fantastic. Food was wonderful, and plenty of it! On Saturday nights, they have a seafood buffet at the beach grill. I was contemplating ordering room service that night, and the girl at the reception asked me if I felt like seafood as they had a buffet just starting. So I thought, ok, sounds interesting. Wow! is all i can say. The amount of different seafood they had was amazing! So glad I decided to give it a try. They offered a food credit during my stay as well. I didn't think much about it at the time, but I ordered room service several times and it was all covered free with this room credit. Not sure if they offer that regularly during non-covid19 times.....but what a bonus!! What a great place to spend a few weeks. Thank you to all the staff at Marriott Merlin beach who made my stay very relaxing.

Very good spot for families, with nice kids pools and club, and great reef beach. They should change the playlist though as it often feels cheap like a entry level mall while it should feel like paradise.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We did the all inclusive package and it was so worth it. The food was yummy! And the drinks were amazing. There is a private beach on the resort and it’s just perfect. We went snorkeling in the morning and saw so many fishes. The resort offers snorkeling gear for free with the all inclusive package. There is also an elephant sanctuary next to the beach! We got to enjoy that too. We would deff recommend

  • 5/5 Wasim al S. 7 months ago on Google
We opted for the All Inclusive Package which was worth it. The hotel offers both buffet and a la carte options that gave us much possibilities to choose from. So food and beverages were great. The kids club is a great addition for parents. Entertainment in the evening is good but finishes early. The breakfast is not too bad but too Western catered. And it can get crowded when the hotel is fully booked. The beach is beautiful but after 3.30 the water starts to pull back and it's mostly rocks and dead corals. But all in all, it was worth it for a nice vacation with family and colleagues.

This resort is isolated from the bustling town of Patong offering some level of privacy at higher than market rates in the general Patong Beach area. In turn, the resort is pretty well contained and has its defining feature, a private beach. Do note there is no convenience store within but a 7 Eleven nearby most accessible by car. We chose this resort for its amenities i.e. swimming pools and spa which were average at best. The spa was not too shabby (the Sleep Wellness package did as it said) but offered at as-expected, steep prices. This is a place for families who wish to come to Phuket but don’t want to venture beyond the more chaotic town centre with various shadier offerings. We were however deeply disappointed by the quality of the rooms and the breakfast. Our ocean-view room offered no privacy as we could hear the loud beats from the Rum Shack that goes on till before midnight. The walls and ceilings were paper thin and we could hear vacuuming from next door and every loud thump from above us. The room was also quite a distance from the main lobby and other key areas which was frustrating to walk to and from every day. Generally, the aesthetic of the resort also felt mismatched. The rooms and lobby had a semi-modern feel while the exterior and most other places including the spa and communal bathrooms seemed dated. We wondered if there was some part refurbishments to only certain parts of the resort. For the prices we paid, it was not a memorable stay and we did not feel sad to leave which usually is a feeling that we’ve had with other beach resorts. It’s a one-off experience and will probably stay in the newer hotels closer to town next time we’re in Phuket.

Great place. A few issues with the room but the staff made sure to make up for it. Especially a gentleman there named Golf that made sure our issues were taken care of in a way that suited us. Exceptional customer service. The private beach is very rocky under the water which is good for snorkeling. A few tropical fish can be seen and a bunch of rocks from which were probably once a coral reef at one point in time. There are constant activities you can take part in during the day, such as soccer/football golf, basketball, ping pong, soccer pool (the floor is similar to a billiard table and you kick soccer balls into the holes), a large floor chess set, etc. The pool is nice and even goes under the hotel itself where deer statues spit water at you, and its a good spot for photos. Its a great place, I'm glad we decided to stay here, and I highly recommend this place.

A charming hotel with a smiling and wonderful staff, excellent service and perfect for children. The distance from Patong is an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time, depending on your personal needs. The beach outside the hotel is great and clean and they offer a variety of beach accessories. The beach also has two excellent massage points. As a bonus - the Italian restaurant inside offers one of the best Pizzas I've ever eaten. Super recommended!

  • 5/5 S K. 1 year ago on Google
The best Hotel we've ever stayed at so far. We were a couple who had booked All Inclusive and enjoyed every minute at this Hotel. Staff is super friendly and cooperative. The variation of food was good. There were different restaurants in the hotel serving Thai, Indian, Italian and Western style food. There were lots of families staying at this hotel, the children seemed to have lots of fun and the Hotel provides many different activities for the families. The pools are very clean, big and well planned. The beach was nice. The tide water was fascinating to experience. Kayaking and snorkeling equipment was available to hire for free. A shuttle bus with a fixed schedule could be booked free of charge taking you to and from Patong beach. The room was very clean, and the cleaning was always done when requested. This is the perfect Hotel if you want to relax and have everything at hands. High variety of foods to select from, many different activities available, big pools, nice private beach, clean rooms, easy access to Patong beach. The only downside I can think of is the fitness facility which was very small and had a limited number of equipment. The hotel was so good and we can definitely consider booking a Mariott hotel next time we travel.

  • 5/5 Ivy C. 1 year ago on Google
Superb service at every part of the hotel, esp the many swimming pools. Amazing hotel stay and good enough rooms for small family. The hotel is self-sustained with various restaurants and food types to savour if you are in for a longer stay. Even taxis are easily called for and available to get to any tourist destination. The private beach is not for swimming and the beach is too short.

This is a nice property in a private secluded location perfect for families who want to stay local and don’t want to move around much. However it was uphill drive about 10-15 min drive from Patong beach. There’s a free shuttle offered by the hotel during day time but needs to be booked in advance. There’s a small private beach on the property as well. Food is mediocre and wouldn’t waste my money eating there. Also like any five star property buying tours from their concierge means paying 100 to 150% additional.

Great hotel! Excellent service! Really suitable for families. Pros: 3 huge pools, a lot of activities for the kids. Private beach (better in the morning to avoid low tide) The breakfast is great. Great kids club Rooms with direct access to the garden/pool are great. Cons: Nothing

beautiful property it has a private secluded beach that looks like a postcard the pools were good.. the food was great too. delicious cheese quesadilla the breakfast was absolutely amazing beds were comfortable bathrooms were modern not a party resort - the age group of people staying there is 40+. more kid friendly and ideal for families. What I didn’t like: the junior staff at check in are not the friendliest. As a gold member I asked for early check in or a room upgrade. He kept saying no. had to ask for management to come and help out (which they did!) one night there was a flood in Phuket and we got stuck in the rain because the cabs couldn’t go up the hill. we had to walk with rain up to our hips to get to the hotel (the hotel also couldn’t send anyone to fetch us)

We had a great stay and pleasant experience at the Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach. The check-in process was quick & efficient. We chatted with the front desk using the Marriott app and informed them about our preferences. The staff accommodated our requests and had everything ready when we arrived at the resort. Plenty of food options were there and we enjoyed the different restaurants. DOCG Italian food was great, Beach Grill was nice too and the breakfast buffet had choices to suite everyone’s taste buds. The SPA had good options and Ta took great care of us. Only disappointment was the lack of water sports activities at the resort due to the current weather conditions.

I have stayed in the Phuket Sandbox program between September 15 - 29, there are quite a lot of guests staying in the hotel. The hotel breakfast is varied and delicious, especially freshly fried Patong go (fried dough), tasty and soft—outstanding Thai food, especially the Phuket desserts and braised pork knuckles. The rooms have a balcony offering beautiful sea views and cool sea breezes. All the staff is lovely, and the human relations are excellent.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. Good for snorkeling. Bottom is covered with corals, so better to wear some special shoes in order not to harm your feet.

We have just spent 6 nights and loved every moment. We are a family of 4 with two adult daughters and booked two ocean view rooms. The rooms were spacious, well maintained and comfortable. It was great to have the free water each day and reusable drink bottles and a handy beach bag to use to take to the pool and beach each day. The staff were fabulous and the food options extensive and very nice and affordable. We loved the location and the fact it was away from Patong and Karon and did not feel the need to actually leave the resort at all. The beach is great and water very clear. Highly recommend this resort.
