STAY AWAY. SCAM OWNER! Room was reserved a month in advance. But owner double booked the room and sent me across the street to his friends dump, Rayaan Guesthouse, on the day of check in. Incurred bed bug bites, unchanged sheets, condoms and blood on the floor, and a gaping hole on the wall. No refunds from owner. Furthermore, Made me wait at his tailor shop for several hours before delivering the news that the room was double booked. If you go during peak season, I'm warning you that your stay is not guaranteed. This owner takes cash from random walk-ins to avoid paying agoda fees. And will not hesitate to cancel your stay.

Terrific room and a great location. Dev was super friendly and super helpful throughout the stay. What else is there, close to beach who likes beaches like me and closer to Bangla road for those into parties! I would strongly recommend this place. The hotel is above the tailor shop which Dev owns, checkin happens in the tailor shop. Dev upgraded my room to a deluxe suite, wow, that's just amazing! The only issue was that the room is on the 4th floor with no elevator, but it being a deluxe suite, it's so worth it. The room was superb and it looked so modern. When I had a wifi issue one night, it was fixed immediately the next day. Checkout starts at 10 am, but I had to leave early at 7 am for a tour. Dev told me to not worry at all, and gave me the flexibility that if I had to leave before 10, I can just leave my luggage and key in the room, and the staff would do the job of bringing it down. If it's between 10 and 12, I can do it myself.

We stayed two nights at Star Guest House, must say its our best stay in thailand. A very friendly staff and clean room, central location 2 mins walk to nightlife, mall and the beach. Will certainly be back when in Phuket again. Recommended !

Great guesthouse located in centre of Patong. Close to everything, excellent service, clean room friendly staff. Recommend for budget travelers.

Star guesthouse is Tailor shop on the ground floor run by Indian- Thai family. Room is spacious and very close to main road& Juncylon mall. Easy to find restaurants or banks. Con: Unfortunately, TV in room cannot be watched at all.

I am a people have 100+ times travel to Thai, Cambodia, Vietnam and Japan and more country. I had a XMas holiday from Hong Kong to Phuket and stay StarGuest house in 7 days. The hotel just 3 minutes from Bangla street which is good location. I would say it is good budget hotel. new decoration ( according to Agoda, it is revamped few year ago), good air condition and refrigerator, good hot water, comfortable bed, and the room is clean! And most important is NO any cockroach or mosquito. The owner named Dev is very nice person too. There is budget hotel and what it already provide it must. I know there is some netgative comment, but I think it is outdate comment. And someone complaint have to deposit 1000b for room, it is not any problem, 1000b is not much money, it is very common, especially Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Vietnam, and they will give it back when checkout without any room damage.

I found worthy staying here. Mr. Dev the owner is very helpful person. He arranged early check in and Helped on sight seeing plan. It's nearby Patong Bangla Walking Street. Most accessible and affordable property.

Location is great, walking distance from the beach. The owner is a sardar guy (Sikh) and at the time of checking in they are taking additional security deposit of 1000 baht per room from Indian guests which is kinda humiliating. Also, on check out they will thoroughly inspect the rooms, every nook and corner before refunding the security deposit. Bathrooms are terrible, and barely any area to take shower. Their behavior was otherwise fine.

I stayed here for nearly two weeks while on vacation. The owner and staff are superb and their tour guide services are on point. The location is just next to Bangla Road and accessible by tour van to all the major tourist sites in Phuket. The bathrooms were a bit rustic but my experiences in other hotels in the area indicated this was normal. Great cleaning service and privacy to do as you see fit. Will visit this place again if I happen to be in Phuket in the future.

One of the cleanest and tidy place I have stayed in Patong. Dev is a SUPERHOST and is ever willing to help and assist, be it booking of transport, sightseeing or selection of restaurants. Highly recommended. Best regards, Capt.Vikas Gokhale

I LOVED THIS PLACE. You can stay in Hotel away from Home, but can never find a Home in a Hotel. Everything about the Hotel is great. None actually stays in room while in Phuket. Even much before arrival, Dev (owner) helped me with my booking, at the time of check-in, even while checking out he offered us to rest in his tailoring showroom, offered tea and helped with every detail for the sight-seeing too. You can never leave the hotel with a heavy heart. Its safe, rooms are aptly stuffed n designed, water in bathroom, cleanliness, everything. Brownie points for Hang-Hang, the pup. She was super cute, and i really hope she remembers me in the next visit. Def wud recommend it to every one among friends n family travelling to phuket. 10 stars for the hotel

What do you generally look for in a guest house ? Let me tell you what I think about before I book a room. 1. It must b clean. 2. It must be easily accessible. 3. It must be near to the main market. 4. It must be modern looking unless the place has a theme. Believe me or not this place has everything. On top of it, the staff is really friendly and helpful, they can also help you in booking the tours, taxi and a ferry. I had an amazing time, staying at this place :) Thank you for the great hospitality.

Amazing place to stay! Just off a main street, we couldn't ask for a better location. Place was super, super clean and the water pressure is amazing. Really lovely and very safe. The host was also incredibly friendly and helpful (booked a bus for us and recommended restaurants nearby.) Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Phuket and looking for a comfortable, safe, and convenient place to stay.

Price is really cheap. The room also value for the price. Staff also OK

I had the pleasure of staying at The Star Guest House last year and it was great. Good prices and Dev and his family were very accommodating and gracious hosts. It's the first time I've been to Phuket and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. As manager of a family owned Airbnb on Cape Cod Massachusetts I definitely know the hospitality business and this boutique guest house is charming and in a great location! Hopefully I'll be able to return someday!!!

Dev is an amazing host: always with a smile, he takes care of your well-being. I wanted to change room to a less noisy floor: done! I needed a chair for work: he offered one of his chairs. He also booked an island tour at 50% off for me. I highly recommend Dev’s place because it’s near the beach, the restaurants, basically all the actions you would want. The price is fair and Dev’s positive energy makes your stay really comfortable.
