Pros: Staff was so great and accommodating. They really go the extra mile. They did our laundry for us, helped break change a couple times, lent us a personal knife for fruit cutting, organized shuttles, etc. Housekeeping does a good job. Rooms have small kitchens which is great if you don't want to eat out every meal. The hotel itself is kinda tucked away more into the forest. It's about a 20 min walk to Kamala Beach. The grounds are beautiful. Cons: A wee bit noisy. Can hear stuff going on in hallway sometimes. The local mosque has morning prayer/song over loudspeaker at 6 am. At first it was really beautiful to hear, then it got kinda annoying.

Everything was great. Apartament, helpful staff, restaurant with delicious food, beautiful neighborhood. The only downside is distance to the Beach. The transfer didn’t work properly and usually we have to wait for driver about 30 minutes, even if we paid for it because it had place in different hours than in schedule. Nevertheless it was pleasure to live here.

Great facilities, beautiful location, and convenient free shuttle to the beach. Breakfast could be improved in terms of options and quality, but can’t really complain considering the price (would not mind paying more for better breakfast). Restaurant food was good and fairly priced. My stay was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend this place.

Cozy and comfy. Services are good. Bed is very comfortable. on the mountain, near town. Buildings still look like new.

Nice location and facilities

This hotel is located in a secluded area. A walk to the nearest restaurant or convenient store involves a 20-minute with a steep uphill walk. The hotel provides 4 daily shuttle runs. The problems are: no spa or on-site restaurant, fitness room with old/ rusty equipment, and a tiny swimming pool. I booked the room with breakfast. It turned out that I had to go to another hotel (Citygate Hotel) for that, and the breakfast was marginal at best. I asked a male night attendant for extra hangers on the first night, but I never saw any extra hangers during my 3-night stay. In short, the idea was good but the execution was flawed. A secluded retreat needs to have various on site facilities (such as spa, gym and restaurant) , so guests don't have to go out for food and entertainment.

A recent development which is partially rented out on short & medium term basis. I’d put 3.5 if it was possible. We had to change room after 1 day since both main door and the toilets were not functioning properly. Comfortable bed, Good location, relatively cheap @ ~ $120 /night for the night season tho suffers from equally cheap overall maintenance. We had a car which made commutes easy but not very convenient if you depend on hotel transportation and taxis. Bfast is offered at another resort (City gate) a few km away.

The Woods is a sham. It’s nowhere close to what you see in pictures, the property is built on a steep hill where a lot of tuk tuks deny to go and they have nobody to assist you with luggage. The hotel has a sweet intern girl who will accompany you and will try to help with luggage but that’s not her job. The price you pay vs the services do not justify. It has decent looking rooms but have them only booked if you plan to just stay the night in a secluded place. There is no service of food, spa, a very tiny pool. The breakfast was a completely sham where you go to another absolutely average hotel and eat some ridiculous food that is not even edible. Its not about a cuisines not suiting my taste but a very awful tasting food that shouldn’t be considered as breakfast. To my suggestion, just book a hotel near beach, there is absolutely no point investing in this one
