We visited the museum with the whole family on a guided tour. The guide spoke so interestingly and enthusiastically about the museum. The children were simply delighted! There are two museums here - Maxim Gorky and Fyodor Chaliapin. On the ground floor other museums come with their exhibitions! I recommend visiting!! Monday is a day off in all museums in Kazan!

A good museum that combines exhibitions dedicated to Chaliapin and Gorky in one place. In addition, there is a temporary exhibition about the period of repression in our country. My recommendation is to take tickets with a tour if you are little familiar with the life and work of these great people.

A wonderful tour of the Gorky and Chaliapin Museum. They talked about the years Gorky spent in Kazan, about hard work in the bakery (the interior was preserved in its original form), a suicide attempt, Gorky’s development as a writer, relations with Stalin, emigration and return to his homeland. We moved smoothly on Chaliapin, who was born in Kazan (the entry in the book was miraculously preserved), there is a piano, posters, a suit and coat of Chaliapin, donated to the museum by the daughter and grandson of the singer.

My new favorite in the personal museum rankings. The museum is cozy, laconic, simple, but at the same time rich in rare exhibits. How much work and soul was invested to preserve the story of two geniuses so cleverly and interestingly. Many thanks to the museum guide Alexander - he is a talented storyteller and a very erudite person, thanks to his stories about Gorky, I wanted to re-read his books, books, now I am discovering them for myself from a new perspective. I highly recommend visiting this museum and taking a tour.

During our stay in Kazan, we decided to visit the Gorky Museum with our mother. Having read the reviews in advance, we asked museum employee Alexander to give a tour, who, fortunately for us, was free. Two hours passed in one breath, although with my technical education I didn’t always keep up with the guide’s thoughts, but with my mother, a teacher of Russian language and literature, they clearly found a common language 😀 The museum is quite large, there are a lot of exhibits, about each of them Alexander and I am happy to talk and answer any questions that arise. Solid 5 points and one of the most vivid impressions in the city of Kazan!
